After lots of my pleading and his realization that Pumpkin needs a playmate, the boy and I have agreed that we can get another kitten! :D I'm sooo flipin' excited, I'm going up to our local animal shelter today and see the kittens (hopefully) they have up there. Pumpkin is almost 9 months old (she'll be 9 months on May 2nd), and she's been hinting at us that she needs a playmate. We really want a little girl kitten, so she has a sister to play with. I've not had much luck in finding kittens on Craigslist; but I prepared to make a few trips up to our local shelter to find the perfect kitten :) Wish me luck!

It is getting to be kitten season, AL82. Should be no problem! You might look on the website for the animal shelter. They list animals available for adoption and post photos. :)
This is the website: www.lanecounty.org/animalsJust checked the website--there is a litter in foster care. Cute babies! :)

we're back from the lane county shelter. The kitten that I had my eyes set on was this beautiful Siamese kitten with bright blue eyes. She's still in foster care but we're planning to go back in a few weeks to see if she's there in the cattery. I wanted to see the dogs and we both fell in love with a gentle giant named Bear. He's a German Shepard who suffered years of abuse via a food allergy that his owner never treated, so he's lost a lot of hair. By the end of our time there, we wanted to take every single animal home!

AL82 is there anywaay to reserve the kitten? As in speaking with the foster mom? This may work for you better then just hopping she/he will be there!
By the way congrats!

I asked the staff if there was any way to reserve her so when she was there, she would not have to wait long but they don't have any systems to put a kitten on hold. The only thing I can do is keep checking on the website and see if she's there yet. I'm doing all the things that are needed to speed up the process like having written approval from our landlord and all the fees, etc. figured out. I will continue to keep my eyes open and Pumpkin's paws crossed! :D

Then you are doing everything you can! How old is she? Week's wise? Kittens usually 8 weeks for shelter adoptions!

Aww! a new baby! Yay! But you should get a little boy. Females ((and males)) tend to fight for who's alpha of who owns the house. I'd be careful if I were you. But if you're resolved on getting a female make sure they don't fight if they still have their claws. Good luck on getting your new little one!
