  2. We say it's the best marathon in the world. They run past the Tower of London, over Tower Bridge, down The Mall, past Buckingham Palace ......

It's a tour of all the best tourist sights in London, and it's mostly flat, ahrdly any hills or slopes. Where they have to run on cobbles, they put down carpet to help cushion the runners' feet.

  3. One of the producers from our UK offices was tweeting on Twitter while he ran the London Marathon today. I think it sounds a bit risky, trying to text while running, but he seems to have survived, and finished in 3.5 hours.

  4. good morning !!! i've just sucked down a diet pepsi and some oranges, now i'm ready for a chocolate croissant and a toasted garlic bagel dripping with butter...please

  5. 3.5 hours for a marathon is a good time! The elite runners were finishing in 2 hours 5 minutes. The first British runner was home in 2 hours 15 minutes beating his personal best by 2 minutes.

  6. gee whiz, i wouldn't make it five minutes much less two hours

  7. I have just seen the most hilarious thing! Our dining room is piled high with "stuff" at the moment, as we strip out, redecorate and re-shelve the big cupboard under our stairs. Eric was just trying to burrow down a gap he'd found, so there was this black bottom wriggling downwards, then he decided it was too small or difficult, and reversed!!! SO funny!! :oD

  8. I love when they do stuff like that too cute

  9. He didn't like us laughing at him, his dignity (and fur!) is very ruffled!

Posted 2 years ago by MadcatwomanintheUK #

  10. Poor Eric, you know how upset he gets when his dignity is damaged.

  11. BTW I caught the 17.53 home yesterday, so I suppose we left Porters about 17.00.

    Posted 2 years ago by Pollys_Mum_in_UK_2605 #

  12. They're very good there aren't they? I had a very good journey home, walking in the door a mere 3 hours and 10 minutes after I left Porters.

  13. Do read the funny I just posted - title "Calling in sick". My Australian cousin sent it to me and it had me shrieking with laughter.

  14. How are things in the UK today?

    Posted 2 years ago by mollycat71 #

  15. I have just read it & commented PM - very good!

Molly, it's a lovely day where I am in the UK today, some clouds but mostly sunny, and temps in the mid/high 60's.

  16. Beautiful Spring day, blue skies with fluffy white clouds. Temperature about 65 degrees and a light breeze. MC do read the funny I put on!

  17. Good morning/afternoon everyone! It's another beautiful warm day here in NEPA and the last day of my vacation. It's been so warm here that the cats are already in "puddle" mode. PM, my BIL is a marathon runner and coach and it is his dream to run London - much better than hilly, freezing Boston! MCW, I hope Eric's dignity was not terribly compromised; mine give me "the butt" when they have been insulted. MC, I hope you are feeling OK today; just a few short weeks to your surgery, and I am sure you will come through beautifully.
Well, off to the grocery store to buy something to grill for dinner!

It is rainy here, too MC and cold and dreary and just plain YUK!!!!! Yesterday was the same. Hubs and I watched Australia yesterday.....we thought it was okay....long, and boring at times.....I do know that alot of people liked it, so maybe it is just us, but we said we'd never watch it again :) I hope everyone has a great day and night!

  22. PM, enjoyed your funny! It made me smile! Taking a break from organizing!

    Posted 2 years ago by mollycat71 #

  23. I am really wasting time. I should be working and then I have to go to Church for Evensong. It's just "plain" evensong not choral evensong tonight, so chanted canticles, not a setting, and no anthem.

    Posted 2 years ago by Pollys_Mum_in_UK_2605 #

  24. sounds like a nice evening though. all work and no play makes PM, well bored!

Posted 2 years ago by Kilroy #
