  1. April 27th-FIFTEEN DAYS AND COUNTING!

I am starting to get nervous and a tad snappy! I think I am not able to keep my fear under wraps as my surgery gets closer to its actual date.

I hope you are not sick of hearing about my surgery but I appreciate all that you guys have done for me. Your support has been unwavering and strong. I don't think I would be able to make it without each and everyone of you. Your kind words, emails, e-cards, real cards, gifts, etc have been an inspiration. I do plan to pay it forward when I can!

    Thank you family,
    XXX

  2. I can understand your anxiety (as my mom would say, this is MAJOR surgery!) But if it helps to free you from the pain you are enduring now, it will certainly be worth it. I think you have said that you lost a great deal of weight in the past. Think of it kind of like that - horrible while you were doing it, but worth it in the end. You are in my prayers every day, Amy.

  3. ((Amy)) Please don't ever feel that you are a burden to any of us. You are much loved and we care about you. Vent anytime you need to, we are really good listeners.

  4. MC, You are constantly in my prayers and thoughts. I know that it can be frightening but the power of positive though along with love and prayers of all of us will be with you. Huge hugs to you.

  5. We're all here counting down with you, MC! I agree with NNGM that even though it's hard and scary right now, you'll feel so much better when it's done. Make sure my boys behave themselves in the hospital and wear little surgical masks :)

  6. What you are going through is major and Richard and I both want you to know how much we appreciate your prayers and offer of talking regarding the strokes that his brother has had, especially with your own health needs. You are much loved here at TDK!

  7. MC, I think of you often and what you are going through! You are in my prayers always....I think I am getting nervous FOR you :)

  8. GD, I have cute little surgical caps and masks for the boys to wear at the hospital. I can't wait to have them with me to snuggle and hold my hand! Thanks all, I really feel bad asking for prayers when so many are going thru so much!

  9. You're going through a lot yourself, MC! I've told the boys they're going to help you through surgery and they're ready to go. Mi goes for his annual shots on Monday so he'll be protected as well as Bobby. Bobby wants to know if he can have a pink mask. Mi wants to know if he'll get to wear some of those fashionable plastic booties on his little paws?

  10. MC - you are going though a tremendous amount - don't underestimate that. You are in my thoughts daily. I am constanty amazed by your positive attitude, and willingness to help others. I'm over here pouting because my friend(s) don't call. That's piffel compared to your issues.
You are a strong, intelligent, funny, compassionate person... and I am better for knowing you .

  11. 2P, you make me blush! GD, pink mask for Bobby and little green surgical booties for both!

  13. MC, I can only echo everything said here. You are always upbeat, strong and supportive of everyone on TDK and meanwhile you are sick, not feeling well and have a major surgery coming up. You show us who we should be everyday. We love you and I am glad you are my friend. ((MC))

  14. MC, I am sure I am in good company not tiring hearing from you, I only wish this waiting was all over for you and you were well on your way to mending.
Guess I must have missed something along the way, happy that your surgery has been scheduled for an earlier date.

  15. Hi Amy, I wish I could be there to hold your hand before your surgery and afterwards. You are such an example of grace. I hope to one day have your courage and optimistic outlook. Here I am, whining about a hug, when I should be hugging you. You are in my thoughts and prayers.
    love,
    tf

  16. Oh MC, don't be silly--prayers are like the loaves and fishes--they multiply miraculously! It isn't hard to pray for a dear friend. I can't wait to meet you!!!

  17. TL, I think this is the original date, still?

Posted 10 months ago by GreatDane #

  18. Yes it is! The 13th of May. We are almost thru April and it only has 30 days! I am not actually counting the surgery day itself. That day is a wash! LOL

  19. MC,
Don't worry, you are in God's hands -- His will be done. You are going to be okay. Soon those nasty headaches will be gone and you can finally live your life without having that pain overshadow everything.

Don't ever be afraid to come here for support - that's what friends are for. We're all here for you with prayers, white light, and well wishes.

    *hugs*

  21. me too! wishful thinking huh?

  22. I've been hoping that, too, TL!

  23. It's only natural to get more and more fearful and nervous when facing any surgery with an unknown outcome. I went through that same agonizing waiting period when I had surgery eight years ago. The outcome was in doubt right up until the pathologist's report came back to the OR. Of course, I didn't find out about it until I woke up in the recovery room. But it was good news. So hold your hopes up, MC. The 15 days will be over before you know it. And never feel awkward about asking for prayers and good thoughts. As Shelley said, they just multiply like loaves and fishes and are easier to store up. {{{{MC}}}}

  24. Snap and be cranky all you want. We'll understand.

Seriously, ask your doctor to refer you to a therapist. One or two sessions with a psychologist who specializes in these kind of problems may provide you with some tools to help you deal with the perfectly natural fears you have.

  25. MC, think of all of us there with you..at times holding your hand or giving you a hug..our kitties snuggling with you, giving you sandpaper kisses, gentle headbonks and being snuggly when you need it. I too am amazed at your positive attitude and your friendship to others when they need it. You have a lot on your plate and it is only understandable that you would be fearful since you don't know what your outcome is going to be. We are all here for you sweetie praying, sending positive and healing thoughts to you.

  29. MC, just want to let you know I'm saying a prayer for you about once an hour. With all the TDK prayers I know things will go just fine, but you make sure you speak up anytime you need a shoulder!!!

    Posted 10 months ago by 2bpurring #

  30. MC - I don't blame you in the least for being fearful! As the others have said, this is seriously major surgery. Just try to concentrate on how much you are looking forward to that pain in your head being GONE!!! It will be so worth it in the end! In the meantime, we are all here for you whenever you need us, and we're all sending that powerful TDK white light your way!
