  1. Morning/Afternoon GD and Pika! GD Page is a good idea, also making up business cards and dropping them at local vet offices would be good too.

    Thanks, CM - I think I'll give it a try! I'll put some Bobby and Milo pics up and start asking clients if they'd mind me taking pix of their pets to put up, too!
    I noticed yesterday at the vet's office that they have a few business cards there for pet-sitting, dog-walking, dog obedience etc. When I take Mi in on Monday, I'll bring a stack of my cards and ask if I can put them up.

  5. I could really use a great summer of pet-sitting! 've found that people around here are still going away on vacation - maybe someplace cheaper than they used to, or visiting friends or family instead, but they ARE still going out of town and needing pet-sitting.

    By the way - Had an interview 2 hours ago as a customer host for Lexus Cars - already had call back for a second interview with the regional manager. sounds promising huh? not getting hopes up too much and not that worried about a job at the mo - quite happy to have about 3 months off!!! saying that - only been off since friday!!! wait til the boredom sets in!! lol!

    I'd really like to branch into dog-walking as well, as that would be an every day kind of thing. The pet-sitting is very sporadic and sometimes I get so much all at once, I can't do it all!

    Good to see you again, Pika! You might look into some volunteer work. (It can also be a good way to do a little job networking with others who are in a variety of businesses.)

  15. Hi all, I finally got someone out to look at the roof. Fortunately only leaking in the one spot and shouldn't cost more than a couple of hundred to get it fixed if I do any inside repair work. I am a master with covering water spots in ceilings. The roof guy said that other than the one spot where the shingles got ripped off by the wind storm the roof is in excellent shape and we should get 10-15 more years out of it!

  21. I made the most tender chicken and yellow rice!..... I brown the chicken, then put it in a dutch oven with yellow rice for about 1 1/2 hrs and serve it with lesure peas on top!.... yummmmm, my grandma used to make that, so fall off the bone tender!.... love it!
