Sorry to be gone to long. On Saturday a friend's granddaughter was rushed to the hospital for an asthma attack. 4 hours later she was declared brain dead. We were in the middle of Word Worm, a game day to raise funds for Curry County Literacy Counsil. She was told just as we were going into the final round. She finish, I really don't know how. Maggie died yesterday. It took several hours off the ventilator before the rest of her body shut down. Maggie is the same age as my daughter. It is just another blow and I am beginning to feel like Typhoid Mary.
Doctor is scheduling surgery in June. Right now I can't even have the surgery. Apparently now my body can not regulate temperature. My temperature, being watched by the school nurse, has fluctuated 4 whole degrees. Crazy system. Seems I fix one thing and another goes bad.
I am doing okay though. I spend my days doing what I love best, teaching kids. I enjoying all that I can since that is in such flux as well. I was told today that I will be teaching English next year--that made me happy! I have my family and I see the sun come up, so I am blessed.

Oh, SM, I'm so sorry. Asthma is such a cruel disease. I can't imagine how devastating that would be for her family and friends. Your friend must be completely shattered, no one expects to lose a grandchild. You are having such a bad time and I am so worried to hear about your health problems with the surgery and the body temperature -- please, please take good care of yourself. Sending healing energy to you and to Maggie's family and big, big {{{HUGS}}}

Oh SM, thank you for checking in! We have missed you so! I am saddened by the news you shared. What a horrible loss for such a young girl! God is blessed to have another young beautiful angel in Heaven! I don't think you are typhoid Mary, just someone who has had sh** dumped on you and your family lately! I wish there was something I could do, something tangible. Praying to me is easy, I want to feel like I have "done" something. Hang in there and know I am thinking of you and your family constantly. Prayers and white light coming your way! HUGS! ((((((SM))))))

Thanks JCat. I am back on daily injections of B12. That was the best part--the pharmacy decided the doctor didn't know what he was writing on the prescription and decided to CHANGE IT! They didn't even call him. While I was in the hospital they started injecting 2 times a day. Even while doing that my blood work showed no detectable B12 in my body. Apparently it has something to do with the immune system. Husband brings home the prescription and says I don't know what to tell you but this is what they gave me. I called the base pharmacy and they said well NO person under ANY CIRCUMSTANCE takes that much B12. I then said look at the script--it says 30 vials with 9 refills. They said well obviously the doctor meant for me to take it once a week and not every day. REALLY THEY CAN DO THAT???? I told them I would like them to interpret my blood work and while they were at it I wanted their medical licsense. I then spoke to the officer who runs the pharmacy, a very dear friend whose daughter was with mine the past week in California. I all of a sudden had a whole new attitude on the phone. I really thought it was pretty gutsy that someone who has never seen the medical chart can just make a change in my medication.

Thanks MC and KW. If I can get my medication in me I might be on the way to decent health.
Well they just but into Wheel of Fortune to announce a tornado warning--but didn't annonce where because then it cut to a Papa John's commercial. The tornado might be coming but I know I have to run out and get that cowboy special pizza!

Daughter was in California recording for Disney--between that, the job issue, and the rest I have been swamped. I should be preping for Mock Trial tomorrow, but I kinda figure if they don't know the case, they never will.
I'll be having surgery after you MC. I almost relented to the surgery, but after the labs came back it is too risky at the moment. I need an immune system first. I have had pneumonia twice after surgery--just don't have the energy anymore to hack up a lung.

Soxsmom, I am very sorry for your friend's loss of her granddaughter. That is so devastating!
I hope that your health gets better and the surgery is a success. Sending you many hugs.

Gosh I am so sorry to hear about your friend's granddaughter. You and yours are always in my prayers. [[[[[SM and family]]]]]
Pharmacists are very knowledgeable professionals but they should really contact the doctor to tell him they are dispensing a different dose and to let the doc know that he made a mistake in his dosage.
