  1. I see that no one has opened the cafe and I bet the kitties are very worried! Happy Friday to all (or Saturday depending on where you are)! We have a fully stocked buffet today courtsey of Bob Evan's (yummy biscuits and gravy)! Coffee/Cappucino/Hot Tea/Cocoa/Juices/Milk! Come on in and browse the buffet, say hi and visit! Kitties looking for loving all around! Welcome to the weekend (almost!) :D

  2. Morning, Mollycat! How are you today? George asked me to send you gentle kitty kisses this morning.

Yay for almost the weekend! I think I'll ask the chef on the buffet line to make me a cheese, mushroom and pepper omelet and some hash browns. That and lots of coffee, and I'm good to go.

  3. Morning MC and Kilroy. Ten minutes until Saturday, Yay! Just thought I'd pop in and say Hi before I wander off to bed. It's chilly here tonight so no doubt Shadz will sneak into the bed in the wee small hours and cuddle up .
    Good night all.

  4. Actually today isn't such a good day. My head really hurts as does my neck. I feel nauseated and my foot hurts really bad! Besides that I am good! LOL I want some hash browns too! :) Thanks so much George!

  5. Hang in there, MC. {{{MC}}} I know the surgery's scary, but I'm sure that it will go just fine, and then you won't hurt anymore or feel yucky. I wish I could come take care of you, though (I think a whole bunch of us wish that - watch out if we figure out a way to make it happen, you might find a mob on your doorstep!)

  6. Morning Kilroy, and MC...Good Night MS :)
Trying to make breakfast and eat before Abbie gets up...Maddie is up and eating right now so that's half the battle.
MC, I am sorry you are feeling crummy again. 12 more days and you will not have to worry about that again. I wish I could help you too. If I lived closer, I would be over there everyday to help out. ((MC))

  7. Good morning! *loading plate with biscuits and gravy*
MC, sorry to hear you're not doing so well this morning. Just think how much better you will be after the surgery. And we'll be supporting you all the way!
Kilroy, how thoughtful of George to send kisses to MC. He is a very caring cat.

  9. Hi LK and Joan!
How is everyone this Friday :) It's rainy here but in the 60's so that's not too bad, but it's not an outside day though :(

Any fun plans this weekend anyone?

MS asked about Abbie on the NS thread and I just saw it. She got her 4 month shots yesterday and she handled them great..She cried hard but was okay after a few minutes. She is 13 lbs and 9 ounces..23 1/2 inches long. She is doing well. The doctor suggested a great way to get Abbie more on a sleeping schedule especially at night. She was going to sleep to late, so last night, she was in bed at 8:30...fell asleep by 8:45 and is still asleep but stirring..I like it..

  10. Good for Abbie! Is Maddie doing better at night as well?
I have to call my "new" cat sitter to see if she's coming for a meeting tomorrow. I have it on my schedule but don't know if she's still planning to come and meet the cats and me. Her daughter and a friend started the business. Then the friend left to spend more time with her family and the mother stepped in to help and loved the pet sitting business. So when the daughter decided to move to Tennessee, the mother took over the business full-time. The daughter was absolutely the best sitter I've had, so I'm hoping the mother is just as good!

  11. LK, Maddie is doing a lot better at night. It's wonderful.

  12. Good Morning! I am here today just for a while - have too much running around to do today.
CM - I am glad that the girls are both starting to sleep better - that is nothing but good for you.
MC - Hope that the day gets better for you, will be saying extra prayers for you.

  13. CM, your mention of Abbie getting her shots reminded me that I needed to call the v-e-t; George is due for his rabies booster. So thanks for the reminder :) I made the appt for a Saturday so that I can take him; hubby went last time, but I feel like I should be there too.

Posted 2 years ago by Kilroy #

  14. Anytime..but I feel bad for George..but it's for his health :)
Abbie's poor little thighs..they are swollen around the shot sites and red..I am watching her, she didn't have this reaction before...

Posted 2 years ago by cricketsmama #

  15. {{Abbie}} It's probably just a mild reaction CM, but I'm with you, watching her closely.
*Leela, stop laughing at George, you're due soon too*

Posted 2 years ago by JoanfromNewJersey #

  16. *I hear you, Leela!* By the way, do you have any good advice about dealing with contractors? Our apartment is about to be invaded by men retiling the bathroom, and I need to know what to watch out for.

    Signed,
    George

  17. ((Leela))
Hows the house Joan now that you have it back :)

Posted 2 years ago by cricketsmama #

  18. George, please tell mama the following: Most of our stuff was out of our house when the contractors invaded it, but when we moved back in, we made sure to hide anything of value. We also made sure they were very aware of our kitty's presence, and the importance of her health and safety.
George, if any of them step on your tail, even if it's an accident, you are allowed to attack! Just make sure you don't take your aggression out on mommy or daddy.
Sooo, house is ours again. There's stuff that we will fix/adjust/do ourselves, but our main focus is getting our belongings back into the house, which is why I have been taking some half days lately. There are boxes everywhere! What's weird is that it's the same house we've lived in for 20 years, but when we go upstairs, we wonder what hotel we're in!

  19. Morning everyone, hope that everyone is doing well. Here but sort of out of it this morning, migaine is still being quite annoying. Actually going to the Neurology Clinic this morning to see about getting in to see someone for the migraines and for my neck, just can't deal with this any longer. I keep thinking that this too shall pass, sigh.

MC, I hope that you feel better today then earlier this morning.

CM, hope that little Abbie's legs feel better soon.

  23. Good afternoon, everybody!!!
I had a busy morning. Had to go to Sports Authority and get balls for my tennis matches this morning and a wrap for my foot, call the tennis pro and remind him we were coming and then went to XBF's house to pick up my racquet that he strung for me. He wrapped my hurt foot and it felt okay during my match. XBF's ex wife was home and very chatty and friendly while XBF wrapped my foot - weird!
Played my match and lost but it was great tennis, so that was okay. Had to rush to be at work at one.
Got a call from the tennis center I'm moving to with my team next season, and was told that they were told I was going to be the captain next season. Arrrrgh! I have been captain for 3 years already (haven't in a few years) and I need this like a hole in my head! However, my Panera friend who runs a competing league that I also play in really wants me to be captain and get my foot in the door with this league. She also says it'll p*ss them off that I'm captain (they know we're friends and I support her "rogue" league as they call it), so that may be fun.

Now I'm at work til eight and I can't wait to go home!!!

    How's everyone else's day going?

Posted 2 years ago by GreatDane #

  24. Sounds like a good way to spend an afternoon, Ange!

Posted 2 years ago by GreatDane #

  25. GD, it sounds like your tennis life is just as complicated as my hubby's. He doesn't play competitively, but just scheduling games in Central Park is a pain.

Posted 2 years ago by Kilroy #

  26. Hi all! I am home, had a bunch of tests this afternoon and I am pooped. My head is a mess, my foot hurts and the girls are ignoring me! What a Friday! How is everyone else?

    Posted 2 years ago by mollycat71 #

  27. I bet, Kilroy!

Tennis is SO popular in this area, it seems like everyone plays!
My Panera friend was on the board and even president for a few years of the day league, but then she quit because she didn't like the politics and the way they controlled everything. Two other board members left as well. My friend and a friend of her's started teams in World Team Tennis and it grew to wheelchair tennis, men's leagues, mixed doubles, tournaments, senior teams, etc. Then the other league started feeling threatened and were saying some really nasty things about my friend and going far enough to try and sue her - unsuccessfully. Once it got that far, my friend decided to start a competing day league of their own.
To support her, I started a team in her competing league, but I'm still playing in the regular league as well. Over the summer, I'll have teams in two leagues my friend has for the summer. One of the girls on my regular team is a member of the board on the other league and tried to get us all to play in the regular league's summer league, but I got to everyone first and got them to sign up with my friend's league which was quite the coup!
The upcoming season in the regular league is what they want me to be captain for now, so it shouldbe interesting....

  28. I'm sorry you're feeling crummy, MC! Arer the girls ignoring you because you smell like the "human vet"?

Posted 2 years ago by GreatDane #

  29. I think that is exactly why the girls are ignoring me! That and the bandages to cover up where they drew blood! UGH! How is your paw today GD? Just when I thought I was going to get back into tennis, this crazy brain of mine goes and messes things up! LOL

    Posted 2 years ago by mollycat71 #

  30. Tennis is what's messing my brain up, MC :)
And you'll get back into it once you feel better!

My foot is better today - a lot better. It hurt so bad last night (kind of throbbing), I had trouble going to sleep. It felt much better this morning and once XBF wrapped it, it got even better. I iced it when I got into work and I'll ice it again in a little bit when it slows down again here. I'm so glad it's better - I was really worried I had some horrible injury! XBF thinks maybe I strained it twisting on a shot, and he's probably right.
