My cat binx is medium-long haired cat. Hes very active and his mood changes from sweet to playful. Hes a little over 12lbs...not sure if that has anything to do with it. Hes not big boned. Hes black but with a white spot and random white hairs--once again not sure if that's relevant. Hes a normal sized house cat. He loves to get into things. He can be VERY affectionate and loves to follow me around ((sometimes I think he can be a dog! Haha)) hes not mean at all. He only bites out of playfulness.
I just wanna know what breed he is. Looking on catster has really got me thinking..plz help! :D

He's gorgoeus. I'm not an expert but he looks like an american shorthair kitty, I suppose he could have a litle Bombay in him. What makes you think that he is a particular breed?
You could also google cat breeds and take a look yourself since you know his characteristics better .
Your baby is darling!Posted 2 years ago by Tigerlilly #

Awesome! Well I don't think hes a certain breed or anything. Just curious. Like I have a half munchkin at my moms. But I dunno what binx is. And thank you so much! I tell him everyday hes adorable but maybe he'll believe it if I tell him somebody else thinks hes darling. I'll try google too. :)

What a beautiful kitty! My kits have sent a friends' invitation to him. You will get an e-mail from Catster asking you to accept or ignore it. If you accept, Binx' photo will appear on my kits' Catster pages and theirs will appear on Binx' Catster page under "Friends."

Binx is really a handsome young man! You should be proud of him no matter what "type or breed" he is! I would vote American Shorthair just like my girls!

Yay! I accepted on catster. Thank you so much, I'll tell him you think hes handsome. I looked on catster to look at the two breeds suggested and both of them fit. The Bombay fit more with how he acts and what he looks like but so did the American shorthair with the coloring. I think ima add nala onto catster too.

He's a good ole' fashioned American Shorthair, formally referred to as Alley Cats (no place for any respectable cat!). But he sure is handsome!

Hi! Your Binx looks almost exactly like my Sophie, except Sophie is short haired. The white spot is even the same. I'm pretty sure they're both just your standard American shorthair. Added you on catster.

She just turned 7 months old. I adore her. You have a beautiful kitty, as well. By the way, to make your avatar a link to your catster page, put the url for your catster page as your home page on your profile here. Did that make any sense? I feel like that sentence made no sense. Silly finals week.

Hi, BB, your Binx is handsome! He looks a lot like my Trixi (2 years old), she is all black with a few white hairs on her throat and a white triangle on her belly. I would say Binx is an American Shorthair also known as a domestic short hair (you'll often see DSH in a description.)

I am gonna say after lookign at his catster page it is very likely he is either a moggie/domestic or/and bombay (head shape, gold eyes, plush coat and a solid dark black minus the white spots) which the domesti or possibly even American shorthair! then again he might jsut be a very very handsome moggie which is fine too!

I'm not sure how M2MC is using the term moggie, but in the UK a moggie is an affectionate term for an alley cat or cat of no particular breed. :)

moggie just means stray, no pedigreed, run of the mill street cat hehehehe! Means a cat whose ancestors can not truly be traced! hehehe some might say the were too flirty and promiscuious which is why we can't tell!
Think of it this way you go to a barn they have cats, those cats on one farm cna run into cats from another farmor ranch or such and have a tryst femnale gets preggers and has babies, no one knows who pops was but they are cute jsut the same heheh!
o you could say Moggie is to cat as Mutt is to dog! Just means you will never really know if they are domestics or from blue blooded predigreed cats! But also remember this each breed that there is today were derived from alley cats and barn cats for traits they displayed that people found pleasing and then tbreed to mass until the traits desired became constant! So even the most titled and honored predigreed cat still came from ancestors from the streets!
My Mainecoon's history is they were brought here to Maine by way of vikings that lnded here and the stronger larger cats that were able to adapt to the winters and such continued on thereby darwins there of survial of the fitest!
My baby is big, shaggy coated, large paws that he uses to pick up and bat with! So he coul have jsut been founded by a single small group of viking cats that got to shore an never made it back to ship before it sailed which could very well be why the norwedgian forest cat and mainecoon's look so much alike! Or jsut happened to be a medium haired cat that came over with the settlers and survived to have offspring while the short haired cats parished through the fridged winters! One really never knows! Either wya he is your baby you find he adorable and handsome and mysterious and that shoud be enough! breed or no breed! papers or no papers! Just a beautiful boy!
Hope this helps! Sorry sometimes I get long winded hahah!

Haha. Very entertaining concept! But it does ring true! And I do love my baby. Hes actually laying next to me and giving himself a bath. Do you of a store I can get a cat brush? Cuz my blankets have his hair ALL over them. I don't mind it but I don't want him getting hairballs. ((I've had to clean up many of those from my first cat)) and when I wash them all I get on the lint thing in the dryer is cat hair. It's crazy. But his paws are doing better. I've gotta find a vet out here in San diego. I've got me a neuro now a vet for him. Do you know of any good vets?
-
Well I have shopped at petsmart and petco fro brushes. I got a soft britsle brush a comb and a flea comb! So there are two places to look! I'd recommend a pet store/shop but thy tend to be pricey!
As for vets it depends on your area, though I do recommend a vet that either does cats and dogs or if you have one a cats only vet!

I've always described these treasures of undocumented heritage as having a mother who was a "Lady of the Evening" and whose father was a "Man about Town".
