hey all
jut a few questions i wanted to ask...i found an abandoned kitten in my house.it was 2 days old when i brought it in.very weak,almost like a small mouse.shes 10 days old today and doing well,i think.pretty active..i feed her around 7,8 times a day..ive been feeing her cow,s milk,sometimes alone,sometimes mixed with with egg yolks.just realized today after reading some of he topics here at this forum that this wont be so good for her.will arrnge for kitten special milk this evening.however what i wanted to ask was that ive been noticing small globular swelling on her umbilicus since the very beginning..now i may be wrong but i think its increasing in size and is painful as well..a white spot(pus point may be also appeared this morning in the centre of the swelling.i am worried as she was left in pretty unhygienic environment for the first coupla days and this may have infected her umblical stump.
any help would be greatly appreciated..

Fara, thanks for taking in and caring for this baby. She sounds just like a baby! I think first and foremost, she needs to be seen by a vet. She sounds sick and her umbilicus sounds infected! Also, I think she is kinda young for cow's milk and egg yolk but it was better than nothing at all. they make special "kitten milk/formula" that is better suited for someone so young. Please keep her warm. She could also use a small stuffed animal to snuggle up with so she feels like she is with mama. These are just a few things I have learned from the others here, please keep checking back, there are many here who have fostered almost new borns! Good luck, keep us posted!
