  1. Wow Welcom Jeff! You new baby is beautiful! I am not sure may have missed it but what s her name?

Ten to one odds her meowing is her way of trying to find mom and siblings as if to say okay I give up come out right now! hahahah! Talk to her, cuddle her, pet her, keep her close to you and in time she will unwind and relax and become more confident. Until then enjoy her curiousty and neediness! In no time she will be off exploring the great jungle of your home without you checking in with you!

As for being alone while at school she might be lonely so can you leave a radio something with soft music, low, leave a shirt or artice of clothing out for her to snuggle and cuddle with that has your scent to comfort her! I'd leave her strictly in your room this way no potty accidents because she cna't find her way back to the room/box!

  2. Hey everyone. I'm on the bus right now going to school. But the advise all of you guys gave me worked, bambi slept with me all night. But when I got up to dress and take a showers she started meowing. So I took my shirt off and put it on my couch and folded it into a square. She loved it, she thought it was me, lol it was so cute, she was all over my shirt, and when I left my home she looked at me and went back to sleep. THANKS TDK!

  7. AWWW Jeff you kitten is so cute. I actually just got my new kitten 2 weeks ago and she is 9 weeks old now and she looks similair to yours. The meowing thing, oh boy do I know what you mean. She thinks I'm her mother so always looking for me. The eating thing, I had the same problem with Saung Yee (baby kitten) I litterly had to feed her water with my fingers and slowly lure her to the water dish. Now for the food, the kittens don't have all their teeth, so I noticed when she was on the dry food she had trouble eating it. So we went and got her can food for kittens. We ended up warming the food and add a bit of water to it. WOW talk about HUNGRY, she chompped it down like a champ. We have her on can food since then. The meowing eventually stops, ours lasted for a week and it was a lot of restless nights. Sometimes it's ok to let her meow and don't go running to her right away. She needs to learn that you need your personal time too.

  8. Lol, I'm in art class right now, I get outta here at 3. Then I need to get a hair cut and buy a couple of things at the mall. I can't wait to see Bambi, but yea she's not eating much. She's just been drinking water, but I don't think she likes it. I've been feeding her science diet for kittens. Any suggestion on something she might like?

  9. We feed Saung Yee Wellness. It's not cheap, but the flavoring is great I heard and it really is good for their health. Rizzo our 4 year old cat has been eating wellness since baby and no bad news with the vets as of yet. Does Bambi suck on your ears? Mine is nursing on my ears and ouch, it's cute and all but now my earlobes are red and polvorized hahahaha. I love that lil girl and I can't wait to go home and coudle with my little fuz ball. Oh did you get her those balls with bells omg mine loved it, and mices also she likes to do back flips to catch the mice.

  12. lol i guess i hit send one too many times opps sorry

Posted 3 years ago by liewwan #

  13. It's probably not the food she was getting, she will get used to it. DON'T keep switching foods, it will upset her little tummy. It's a good brand and your vet will say it's OK. I'm sure she will be Ok with being left alone now with your shirt, but she shouldn't have the full run of the house yet while alone. You are doing great with her, keep it up, and keep us posted--we care!

  14. Ok, i finally got home, she got of my shirt and woke up, but shes still meowing alot, i guess i just have to wait until she really gets use to me and my home, but i bought her a bed, and a bottle with kitty milk.

Posted 3 years ago by Jeff #

  15. Your kity sounds wonderful!
Are you feeding her wet or dry food?
At this age , and really even later, she really may prefer some wet food, or wet food mixed in "soupy" with her kitty milk. I would recommend Wellness wet food, chicken or turkey flavor. It is rather pricey, but at her ag she likely would only eat 1/2 small can per day.

  16. BTW, if you only have the dry food, you may want to try mixing it wilth water to make it a "mushy" maybe more apetizing mix for her. Good luck

  17. Another PS: Sorry if this is a repeat, haven't read all the posts....please consider taking her to the vet for a check up, always a good idea when you have a new kitty, especially a baby.

Posted 3 years ago by Tigerlilly #

  18. i have dry food, ill try mixing to see if she likes it, this kitten is so picky, lol. I love her though. I also bought kitten eye drops today because she has an eye with the white stuff on it, but PetsMART recommended it so i bought it, they said put 2 drop a day, so far i only put one, but she went crazy, i think it burns her, im scared to do it again because i dont want her to fear me. Also she finally started playing with me, i was just tapping my fingers on my bed, so she played with my hand like it was a wild string, lol.

  19. ....eye issue....please definitely take her in for a check up.

Posted 3 years ago by Tigerlilly #

  20. agree with TL, if there are ANY eye problems-take her to to vet! She should probably go in for a checkup anyways! You never know what her health is like! You said you paid 200 for her, is she a special breed of cat? Is she from a breeder? If so, that is even more reason to have her checked. Sometimes breeders are not always on the level and you might have to do a little medical care! Great job so far "dad"!

  21. Ok, ill take her ASAP, i feel so bad for her, shes lony a baby.

Posted 3 years ago by Jeff #

  22. YES,i fmixed some of her science diet food with a little water until the food became soft, she loved it, before she was only drinking water, but she just ate alot, thanks for the advise because i was getting worried of her not eating. Now shes getting ready to nap on my lap, but i watch out for her when she needs to go poop, she statrts digging, so i carry her and run, lol, but if i do this enough, i think she will learn where the litter box is, im planning to clean it every other day.

  23. So happy to hear that she ate Jeff. This makes me wonder if she could be younger than they told you...an unfortunate common problem with some pet stores. Maybe tomorrow you could pick up some wet kitten food for her . Early on, best to stick with the poultry flavors, more easily tolerated.
Yes, please do take her in for a check up. There are so many easily treatable issues that can come up with a kitten , that when not taken care of early can make a kitten go downhill fast. Please give this darling a kiss from me. Any chance we could see more photos?

  24. Welcome Jeff. You sound like you'll be an awesome kitty parent. She's absolutely adorable. Good luck to you and bless you for loving this baby.

  25. Thanks Huddy, yea, ill try to get her more kitten food.
AAAWW she just woke up meowing.

  26. science diet isn't the best food, this explains why http://www.dailykitten.com/chat/topic/16437

this lists some good foods: http://www.dailykitten.com/chat/topic/16684

wet food is much better for any cat, unless you want to take the time to do raw which is the best food you can feed though most vets won't agree.

feeding the right food from the beginning can make a huge differance with how a cat does...i'd rather be paying for the food than for sick cats.

but yes any eye issue should really be looked at by a vet.

  27. it might not be the best but the petsmart near my home said its the best they've got, i need to start ordering online.

Posted 3 years ago by Jeff #

  28. they should have blue buffalo...its pretty good food. blue wilderness is very good too. petsmart really doesn't have that great of food, petco has much better choices. farm/feed stores seem to have better food.

    Posted 3 years ago by furryfriends50 #

  29. How much are these at your local pet shop furryfriends50?

Posted 3 years ago by Jeff #

  30. We need more pictures of little Bambi!

When my kitties were small, I would give them a squishy stuffed animal to sleep with. They loved it and still do, they love to knead their paws into them.
