  3. just between you and me, i scare Spice a couple of hours after I eat one. maybe i should tell my gastroenterologist i'm eating them ???

  4. OMG - I've just seen this for the first time & it is just too funny! My downfall continues to be sugarfree gum. I can sympathize with Dee - I was stuck late at work once cuz I couldn't leave the restroom after too much of that gum. But the worst for gas HAS to be Slimfast soup - I actually had to call in sick after having that soup several days in row!

  5. The saddest *snicker* part about this is, I have a high school friend who did a commercial for Fiber One some months ago. *LOL* Far be it from me to tease her about it, but I just might toot, I mean, tweet her on Twitter about that. ROTFLMAO!

  6. Thanks for the funny reminder...I have never tried one & now I think I will pass.

  8. Ok, I have one in my top desk drawer, right in front, mocking me. Shall I wait till just before the boss wants to meet with me, hehe! Nah, can't do that, I like my boss! Actually, we're a lot alike, and if I clued her in, perhaps we'll share it, go our separate ways, then compare how many people flee from our offices!

  9. i was kidding about their effect on me. i was going "with the flow" about the comments

  10. I know what you mean about sugar-free candy. It's the sorbitol and malitol that causes the problem. Now that Splenda is so widely used maybe they can change their recipes? It's a shame because you can't tell they're sugar-free they taste so good. Oh, and remember that substitute fat they used in potato chips? Worse effect than the candy!

  11. Well...there are no Fiber One bars around this place, unless Hopper is holding out on me...just found out this morning...he's a bonafide tooter...thank goodness not the aromatic kind tho. Whew!

Posted 2 years ago by feral #

  12. I used to get Dentyne sugar free gum. I say "Used to" because the effect was so-um-loud and aromatic that it would chase Victor out of the bedroom! No more sugarless anything in this house!

  13. WAHAHAHAHAHAHA! I have a box of Fiber Plus bars and another of Fiber One bars that are going to be donated to my coworkers. I have had such awful gas, bloating, and diarrhea wile trying to increase my overall fiber intake. WHY do these taste so good? I was up to 30 gms fiber a day, after slowly working toward it for almost two years, and my guts have rebelled. Everything I eat now gives me problems, and much as I like the Caramel Delight Fiber One cereal and the Fiber One bars, they're going OFF my list of consumables.

My husband keeps a can of Glade air freshener in the bedroom and he's used it.

  14. Siobhan...lmao at the Glade. lol.

  16. Ironic this came up today. A coworker had her "first" FO bar today for breakfast. OMG, she was so uncomfortable and gassy all day long! She couldn't quit running to the bathroom. I told they are yummy but not worth the after effects! I smiled re-reading every post here!

  17. It takes a while to get used to fiber bars, and also to know how many to consume in a set time period.

However, I switched to Aldi's Fit and Active fiber bars; much the same ingredients and points, but they do not have the...er...breathless quality that you get with Fiber Ones. In other words, your roomies do not wear HAZMAT suits or gas masks, nor do your pets slink out of the room with haggard expressions.

However, fiber bars have a great use: they are a perfect weapon of revenge with certain co-workers.
    1. Cut up two fiber bars into about 4-6 bite size pieces.
    2. Place in the coffee area of your company.
    3. Listen carefully, especially for high, whistling sounds of distress.

    Just a thought.

  21. Oooo-wish I was still working-I'd love to do that!(says with evil grin)

  22. i bought the fiber one fiber and it made me gassy.... then i dont eat much fiber as is. everything makes me gassy

Posted 2 years ago by Chey #

  23. You want fiber? Eat a rope.

Cheaper, easier on the friends/co-workers/pets, and you just know you've done something to help the environment.

Posted 2 years ago by Emma #

  24. Who needs to buy fiber when I have all this cat hair around me? Best in the West cat fur!

Hmmmmmmmmmm, makes you wonder if it ate a Fiber One bar. !

  26. Okay I feel the need to set the record straight on the poor Fiber One Bar. I have eaten 3 boxes and one box of the Fiber One cereal since I came home a little over a week ago. I did this because of what everyone hear has said--well obviously after 3 boxes of bars and 1 of cereal I should not have this little problem! Now I hear that the darned pigs in Australia is having success after eating them!! Not only did he have success, but he got a standing ovation from 15 firefighters! Tantrum begins in 1,2,3...

Posted 2 years ago by SoxsMom #

  27. ROTFLMOA (with gas mask on just in case).
Oh poor SM, it's no laughing matter but you did make me laugh. I didn't realise just how pertinent that article was. Get hubby or daughter to buy you some kiwifruit and eat 2-3 or even more if you're game. They normally work well.

    Posted 2 years ago by Moonshadow_NZ #

  28. My hubby bought me a pineapple--daughter came home with tangerines. Very pulpy fruit--think they are trying!

Posted 2 years ago by SoxsMom #

  29. Darned PIG!

Posted 2 years ago by SoxsMom #

  30. Kiwifruit have something in them that encourages a "bad tenant" to become and "empty house" if you get my meaning.
http://www.vitalfoods.co.nz/ourproducts/kiwicrush/ I believe you can get Kiwicrush and Phloe in the US. However the fruit by itself works great if you eat several.
