  1. I have a question totally off topic....

If Abbie is allergic to any cereal I feed her..what kind of rash should I look for? She has the eczema and I am on top of that but I fed her baby oatmeal yesterday for the first time and the top of her head looked all funky today..it could be a coinsidence(sp) but I didn't know so I gave her the rice cereal today...I asked the dr and she said..oh it will look like the eczema ...well then how do I know if she has a flare up of the eczema or an allergy...

  2. LOL with Joan! Love your definition of Cinco de Mayo! I love asparagus and had some at our clerical luncheon last week. My mom used to fix it in a creamy white sauce over toast.
Everyone seems to be having some headaches of some kind. At lunchtime we were just talking about how we are having "head" problems -- the kind where you don't remember things after hearing about them just a couple hours earlier.
    Mango Margaritas for everyone!

  3. WWM everything is better with bacon!!!!! I like to take big olives and stuff a sliver of garlic in them and then wrap with bacon. You can either cook them as is in the oven, (turn to get both sides done) or use them to stud a pork roast or leg o lamb. We have them as appetizers while the roast finishes. I am going to try the Asparagus the next time we grill out. Sounds deeeeelish!

  4. Oh yeah - party at Leela's!!! Catnipitas, crabcake tacos, a pinata with tuna treats, and box diving as kitties' activity. There are boxes everywhere!
The only catch for any humans who come over, you have to go thru a box of stuff I haven't looked at for 20 years! (actually, it's been sort of fun - kind of like a garage sale in my own home!)

  5. :( Drove over to Spruce Pine to the "mountain view" restaurant because of the spectacular view, but when we got there it was so foggy, we couldn't see a thing! .... Murphy's Law!...... now it's raining again, so we're curled up watching the rain, and reading..... Abby has been in her bed all day - she loves it up here!.

..... to answer your question, Joan, I'm in a tiny little town called Burnsville, which is 30 min. due north of Ashville...... I love it!....

  8. Wow, I wish I was in NC snuggly with Abby! Sounds great! I would drink Margaritas in honor of Cinco de' Mayo and nap! My girls gave me the scare of my life. I came home from work and no greeting meow's thru the door as I am trying to unlock it. I come in, nothing. I call out to them, nothing. I look on the bed and counch, nothing. I crawl around on the floor and look under things, nothing. Over a half an hour later, with a distressed voice and tears in my eyes I go to the basement calling for them, nothing. Eventually I am doing laundry and I find them sound asleep in the drop ceiling in the front part of the (finished) basement. They didn't wake up to the noise or the washing machine. I had to literally shake them awake! Then they looked at me like I was crazy for waking them! They then tried to "jump down" out of the ceiling! Said no way girls, no broken paws today! They came down via the way they went up, the shelves in the laundry room. CM, I know nothing about food allergies as I can eat EVERYTHING (and that is a PROBLEM! LOL)

  9. MC, so sorry your girls scared you like that. We got awakend at 5:00 by some sort of cat caused noise, but haven't tracked down what it was. Hubby thinks they were playing chase and someone skidded into the bag that hold the aluminum cans for recycling.

  10. My poor little Windi had a scare today, too. I was doing ironing and heard a crash (never a good sound) from the vicinity of the guest bathroom. As I was heading that way, Windi tore past me down the hall with a puffed up tail. She was running so fast that she could barely get any traction on the tile floor. Well, she had tried to jump into the bath tub (she loves to play in there) and she must have jumped at the shower curtain and pulled it into the tub with her. The shower curtain rod came crashing down and that was the noise. She keeps creeping towards the guest room but hasn't summoned up the courage to go back in there yet!

  11. haha! Well, atleast your cat is not trying to snuff you out like my Atticus tried to do a few nights ago!

BTW, why are you in this very salty Cinco de Mayo cafe, WWM? tee hee

Posted 2 years ago by Dee #

  12. Awww, poor Windi. George likes playing in the bathroom, too; he's annoyed right now because the bathroom door is shut to keep down the dust from the renovations.

Bad shower curtain monster! George offers to come and kill it, if Lady Windi would like :)

Posted 2 years ago by Kilroy #

  13. Oh boy, that George sure is a manly cat! I think it has been a rough day for the kitties! Must be in the air!

    Posted 2 years ago by mollycat71 #

  14. George knows that Windi gets spooked by things, so he likes to look out for her. She and Willow have very kindly hosted him in their home more than once, via the wormhole.

Now if I can just get him to kill the giant water bug that's in the bathroom we're temporarily using while ours is out of commission :) Actually, hubby said he would take care of that for me (have I mentioned I love my hubby?).

  15. WWM! LOL - Abby too likes to jump in the bathtub, especially after someone has showered and lick the water!...

    .. CM - I am allergic to oatmeal (many people are).Rice is a much more tolerant food - both for digestion, and I've never heard of anyone with a rice allergy (but then I haven't heard everything)..... I break out in a rash that resembles hives..... if she is having a reaction, the rash would most probably not contain itself to just her head, it would be on her body too - generally appears on her tummy, under her arms, insides of her thighs - the warmest places..... hope this helps! {{{{{Abby}}}}

  20. Dee, I am having my Cinco de Mayo margarita's without salt!!!! And my favorite salt free tostado chips and green chili salsa. Silly girl!

Kilroy, Windi would love for Georgie to come and slay the Shower Curtain Monster! But he might be busy with the water bug (double yuck!!!)

How pretty is Betty, MC? Such a little beauty!

Posted 2 years ago by WillowandWindismom #

  21. Pass a margarita this way please WWM! Sounds yummy! No alcohol after surgery so I must have one today! LOL

  25. Me too! Let's meet for some after you get off work! KEY LIME PIE PARTY!

    Posted 2 years ago by mollycat71 #

  26. Speaking of pie: Florida, Arizona and NM tomorrow May 6, only...free slice fruit pie with any purchase at Village Inn...not sure why it is available in those three states only....

Posted 2 years ago by Dee #

  27. I want a free piece of pie! Pouts and stamps paws!

    Posted 2 years ago by mollycat71 #

  28. Key lime is my very favorite! Maybe if I am extra nice to the server, they will give me a piece of key lime instead...tee hee. Did you see the other Village Inn freebie on the FFF thread?

Posted 2 years ago by Dee #

  29. I finished my yogurt and now I'm looking forward to my gummi bears when I get home! Key lime pie sounds much better, though, MC, so I'll be ready for a pie party at 9:00!
