  1. Has anyone read anything by Alison Weir? She writes historical fiction. I was looking for Phillipa Gregory books on amazon, and Alison Weir's name popped up. Seems to have fairly good reviews, but I wanted TDK opinions!

  3. I have read her books and enjoy them. Most are historical biographies. I think "Innocent Traitor" is her first Historical fiction book.
It is a story about Lady Jane Grey, the nine day Queen. It is very interesting as each chapter is seen through the eyes of the people involved in the story.
I have always found Lady Jane's story to be one of the saddest in English history.

  4. I agree Caroline..she was just a pawn in the scheme of things. How sad for her.

  7. I will look for the book on Jane Grey. That is so true - it was a sad, sad day. And she was so young and clueless. I would like to read a book about her.

    I do adore P. Gregory's books!

  8. I have also read several of Alison Weir's books - both her historical biorgraphies and 'Innocent Traitor'. I enjoy her work a great deal. I also love Philippa Gregory's historical fiction - although I know I need to take it with a grain of salt and not count on it as historical fact! I have just started reading her 'The Other Queen', which is about the time Mary Queen of Scots spent imprisoned by Elizabeth I in England.
