   Q. How would one know if they had been tapped?

   A. battery is warm when not in use. beeps or lights flash when not in use. beeps or clicks happen during a conversation

   I think your best bet is to make sure that no one ever has access to your cell phone. They said they have to get ahold of it to load the software on first.
