  1. Hello, today i got a 9 week old kitten (Sky), and got her vacinated and tested for a few things, all negative. but she isint eating her food we have given her, and she is only drinking a little milk. We have had her for about 7 hrs and all she has eaten is a little steak (that was in quite small bites so she did not choke)

She is used to eating the dry food that we have given her, so would this be a side effect of the vaccinations? or is this a depression from beeing seperated from what she is used to? And what can i do to get her eating again?

    Thanks

  2. What a lovely name for a kitten... It certainly could be an after effect of the vacinations. But remember, she is in a brand new place... she needs time to settle. Maybe offer her a little dry food that is moistened with water or tuna juice... Do NOT give her cows milk. It will upset her tummy. She may just want to snuggle and sleep for the night... or at least until 3 or 4 in the AM... Good luck, and have fun!

  3. i know that you aren't asking for advice about food but dry food isn't good for cats; it leaves them constantly slightly dehydrated causing many differant health problems latter in life. i'd say start feeding wet now because adult cats have a hard time switching.

why feed wet: http://www.littlebigcat.com/index.php?action=library&act=show&item=whycatsneedcannedfood there are lots of differant links that i could give you if you want to know more.
