  1. I am new here in your cats, and perhaps this should be my intro letter. I am living in Muscat, Sultanate of Oman with my wife, a parrot and two kitties. I guess without those kitties, I would not have wrote here.

This was a letter that I wrote elsewhere a while back, but that was not in a cat forum. Then a few days ago , I thought perhaps I should join a cat forum where folks there might be more understanding as they have kitties too. So here I am.

I copied that letter into my livejournal, explaining why I was in the office in flipflops that day.

But in truth, it was on

  4. Shanlung, welcome to TDK! And thank you for such an entertaining and hysterical story about Katie! It sounds painfully familiar to all of us who are owned by kitties.

It can be sort of quiet on the weekends on TDK so tomorrow I'm sure that lots of our TDK family will be reading your blog and introducing themselves. Welcome!

  6. Welcome to the litter! We are thrilled to have you, there is always room for one more kitty lover. I loved your story, I think all of us on here can relate to that. Yes we have sympathy but we also know that we have all (or most all) have gone thru what you are going thru. Do you have pix of your kitty to share with us? We love pictures! Please come around often, it is a lively bunch here during the week. Being Mother's day weekend here in the USA, it is sloooooooooooooooooooowwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww! You can see one of my kits, Betty in my avatar. I also have Wilma and Molly

  7. Oh Shanlung, we're all sympathetic, but laughing too, because we've all been there, and some of still bear the scars!!!!!

  8. By the way, Kattie and Dommie are absolutely beautiful. Evil :-) but beautiful!

  9. Thank you for the warm welcomes.

I am not even certain if I should be here.

While those two might meow and furry, I have my suspicions that they are not kitties. There are reasons to suspect that they are aliens , disguised as kitties.

Here are the two of them. See how perfect their disguises but they could not fool me.

I fear they already taken over my house. They go into my rooms and go everywhere without a 'by your leave'. Muddy paw prints on my car windscreens and they lie on top of the car as if it is theirs.

They gone on and took over the entire neighbourhood , and I fear Oman and Middle East next.

I took to setting password on my laptop to prevent them getting into Internet and causing even more mischief.

Should undue events happen to me, be afraid, be very afraid.

  10. LOL, Shanlung! Yes, you most definitely belong here!!1

    Aliens... that is too funny!

  11. Somehow I think you'll fit in here very well Shalung...!!

    And the aliens are gorgeous!

  12. Shanlung, your kitties are gorgeous! They do look like they might cause a bit of mischief though! I think you are a good kitty parent and will definitely be a good addition here!

  13. My only consolation is that there must be a cosmic balance.

So regardless if Katie is a kitty or not, the evil deeds she tried to do on me had not gone unnoticed.

Heaven has eyes, and karmic retribution visited Katie as chronicled in

    http://shanlung.livejournal.com/84195.html

Despite that, horrid Katie persisted in her evil ways on me.

Therefore yet again, Katie was punished as related in

  14. Welcome to the Daily Kitten, Shanlung. You've taken many wonderful photos of Kattie and Domino. I'm looking forward to reading more of your blog. It looks like you have lived all over the world. :)

  15. Lol, welcome to the TDK family! And yes you like most of us have been dominated by your feline family members, Kattie & Domino. We are but humble servants of those who still remember being royalty eons ago in lands far away. I know I am the servant of 6 whom have blatantly moved into my home, sigh but I have resigned myself to them....yeah, yeah I do love them!

  16. Welcome to TDK. Don't forget to drop into the Night Shift...

  17. Welcome, Shanlung--we love to hear from those in other countries than the US. I love the pictures of your kitties---they look like twins. In the US we call them "tuxies" or "moo kitties". Yes it is Mothers' Day here in the US, but some of us live very far from our children and will be online today.

  18. LOL, Katie - I think that you have your daddy VERY well trained. Good job!

Posted 2 years ago by WillowandWindismom #

  19. Now, how could that sweet looking little moo kitty cause any trouble?

Welcome to TDK, Shanlung. I look forward to reading more about Katie and Domino. I am servant to three lady cats: Nibs, Nora, and Gem (in my avatar).

  20. Welcome to TDK Shalung. If I may be so bold as to offer a solution, whenever you trim any of your "family's" nails, have a styptic pencil on hand--it is great for stemming the flow of blood when we human servants make a mistake!! By the way you have a great writing style--so funny!!

  21. * sighs * .... "visual"..... fishing pole.... thrown out, reeled in..... big hook in mouth..... we are all just "a catch" of our furr babies!...... LOl

  22. Ah so!

    Tuxies! That came too late.

My wife thought Katie looked like a cow they use to advertise milk, and called her cow. In revenge, I called Dommie (who traitorously transferred his affection to my wife) a goat as he has rather longish face looking like a goat.

So conversations might go like this

"Has the cow come home yet?"

I am happy that you enjoyed those chronicles of the kitties. I guessed you noticed too that my writings have been largely on birds. If you have seen those photos of my Tinkerbell riding on motorbike with me in Taiwan or on mountain tops and forests of Taiwan or of Riamfada with me in Oman, I think I can say many people think I am rather good with birds even if I do crazy things with them. My writings have been largely to the bird world. I guess they must have wondered why I included so much of kitties in my writings even if they are charitable enough not to take me to task for that.

Likewise, I hope you folks can enjoy those writings on birds even if I talk about kitties. At least now I am glad to be with folks that definately enjoy my kitty tales that got embedded in my parroty tales.

In truth, I do not think I could have been that good with birds if I have had not that earlier background on kitties.

And I think because of my interactions with flighted birds, I became even better with kitties than if I had just stuck with kitties.

Here is another episode with those alienic kitties of mine.

Taking Dommie & Katie out for walks // Riamfada accepted the new cat carrier
    http://shanlung.livejournal.com/93415.html

I think you will be nicely surprised by the photos and videos that you will find embedded in that saga, without which you might not have believed me.

I toned down in above saga what Dommie did to me on the beach. The reply I gave the next day contained the full gory details that you might not wish to read if you are faint of heart or with weak stomach.

You access the next day report by clicking on the Livejournal navigation arrows just above the title of the page.

I hope you all enjoy what I written even if I had not enjoyed those events being inflicted onto me that time then.

  25. Shanlung, your pictures are wonderful. It seems as if Dommie and Riamfada had a wonderful time at the sea. I especially liked the pictures of Dommie crossing the water. It is a shame that Katie would not venture to the water but i'm sure she enjoyed the sand. Thanks for posting.
