Breaking News......MCW's coming to America!!!

  1. The ever wonderful Mr MCW has decided that in order to face my F-word birthday I need something to look forward to...so he's sending me to America for two weeks to meet as many of my TDK friends as possible!!

    My TDK Tour will start in New York on 2nd September, move to Chicago on 5th September, see a road trip to Cleveland around the 7/8 September, journey to Austin on 9th September, land in San Diego on 12th September and fly back to NY on 15th September before heading home, knackered but extremely happy on 16th September.

    Accommodation is all taken care of thanks to some very good TDK friends (thank you Kilroy, Lisa & Linda!) and one long suffering ex, flights are all booked, so it just remains to sort out a TDK Meet in each location. I'll start a separate thread for each meet in the next week or so, but having held this secret for months now while it was in the planning, had to go public before I burst!!!

    We'll have to see if we can get some CA TDK memebers to plan to meet somewhere near San Diego.

  3. Wow--You'll be close when you're in either Cleveland or Chicago. How wonderful that you are able to do this. I can't wait. Maybe I'll suggest to our Cleveland meeting group that we wait until September for our meeting!! We have 6 coming, I think, but maybe more people would be able to come if we put it off for a little while.

  6. I am so thrilled, excited, invigorated, smiley and totally over the moon!!! Abbey and I will see you in Austin! What a wonderful husband you have. Give him hugs from us. Can hardly wait! Birthday cake coming up! Mattie makes the best in Austin!

  11. So, wait a minute..... I don't see Midland mentioned on that schedule. :-) Just yanking your chain, MCW! How wonderful is Chris to do this? We may just have to load you up with Dum-Dum suckers to take home to him. If we are here, and it is possible, we will come to Austin. I guess there will be more details on each location later, right?

  28. Oh you guys....I'm welling up here too! This is going to be so fantastic!

    Sandi & Buttercup & AV - I tried really hard to squeeze as much as possible into this 2 week window, I couldn't extend any as Chris is likely to be away the weekend immediately after I'm back (hi love! bye love!)- sometime in the future we'd be likely to do a Florida holiday, and I'm going to try and save up and do another TDK tour (maybe 2011) to cover the NW & N states...so I will get to meet you (and KW and Karenopa and maybe even Tiger!) someday!!
