  1. Our family cat was recently hit on the road after having a litter of 3 kittens. There is one little boy left, who is now 3 weeks old that I am attempting to take care of. He is eating very well and pees after every feeding, but he hasn't pooped at all and I've been taking care of him for 4 days. His tummy is fat, but it's still soft, so I don't think he's constipated. I have been trying to stimulate him with both wet and dry cloths, but nothing is working.

    What should I do?

  2. XHunterchickX, this question comes up all the time. If he's still eating and seems happy and alert, I don't think you should be worrying too much. Click on the pink taglines at the top right of the page (poop and constipated) to read the advice given on this problem, I'm sure it will help, and keep checking back here as many TDKers have gone to bed now but will be logging on again later.

  3. Hi Hunterchick, young kittens don't go everyday and sometimes go several days without going. I find a wet, warm washcloth works best, keep at it. I'm sorry to hear about your family cat and thanks for taking care of this kitten. Check back later because many here are now hand raising newborn and young kittens and can give you better advice.

  5. Don't worry. This is okay. Think about all the liquid in his diet. As long as he is not straining to go, and he's still eating, don't worry. Wet cloths work best to avoid irritated skin. You can massage his little abdomen gently to stimulate his intestines, but if that doesn't produce anything, then you'll just have to wait. If he's bloated, he may need a dewormer.

    Good luck!
