  1. Hey everyone, I thought I would give an update on now being a 2 cat household & the trials that have been going on for the past few days.

Pumpkin has been making vast improvements since I brought Nilla home on Saturday. At first, she hissed, growled, & wouldn't even come near me. Since then, Pumpkin has been trying really hard. She knows that Nilla is in my room, and has started coming to the door and meowing outside of it & Nilla goes to the door, and then Pumpkin starts to hiss at her. Nilla doesn't do anything, she just sits at the door, almost like waiting to play with her. yesterday when Nilla was asleep on my shoulder, Pumpkin opened the door & walked into my room, hissed a bit, smelled and left. Nilla doesn't do anything when Pumpkin is by the door, or they can see each other through the door being cracked.
Today, the boy and I are going to have Pumpkin in my room for a little bit and have Nilla explore the rest of the house, by herself without any intimidation from Pumpkin.
We are trying to take things really slow with these two and take the introductions slow and steady, with more contact each day. They will not get full contact with each other until Nilla goes for her kitten checkup.
Sorry it's so long, just want to let everyone know.

  6. Oh yes & another thing, Nilla has been pooing in the corner behind my door, when she already used the box several times for poo! Well, the boy suggested that I move the box to the spot where she was pooing and low & behold, no more pooing accidents!

  11. I got back from the pet store and bought both Pumpkin & Nilla treats and toys, as well as some wet food for Nilla :) I am mixing both wet & dry food so it won't be so hard on her teeth.

  14. hey all I have a poopy problem, er, Nilla does & I am getting so frustrated. Nilla keeps pooping in the corner of my room behind the door. I've done everything I can think or and am at the end of my rope. I've put the litter box there, put her nose in it, etc. I don't know what to do. I'm in tears because I'm so frustrated!

  18. Has Nilla been checked by the vet yet? She could have worms or some other parasite that is causing her to eliminate inappropriately.

She could be reacting to a change in cat litter and/or to a type of litter that doesn't smell good to her or hurts her feet.

Does she tend to go at the same time everyday? If so, you can just keep her locked in the bathroom for that hour. If you put her sandbox and her food dish as far apart in the bathroom as you can, she'll use the box.

As a general rule, when a cat stops using the box, they are trying to tell you something.
