Venue TBC, got somewhere in mind but Kilroy's just checking nearby Madison Gardens' schedule to make sure we're not clashing with anything - want to be able to hear ourselves speak afterall!
The options currently are afternoon or evening on Thursday 3rd September, or the evening of Friday 4th September - anyone got any preferences?

As of now nothing major is scheduled for Madison Square Garden on the 2nd thru the 5th, although that could change as we get closer.
I'm going to have the whole day off on the 3rd (yay!) but have to work on the 4th (boo!), so I would lean toward the Thursday, but Friday evening is fine too.
As Mr. K pointed out, the 7th is Labor Day, so the city will probably empty out by Friday. We shouldn't have any trouble finding a place that can accomodate a group.
Another option is to start out at Chez Kilroy for drinks and then head somewhere for dinner; then people could meet Mr. Orange Fuzzmonster :)

I'd love to meet up but I haven't responded because I'm not positive yet what my schedule is going to be like yet this far in advance. Whatever day everyone decides on though I'll try my best to get off :)

Kilroy's organising this one, and as she's a singleton looking for stuff to do this week while Mr Kilroy's away, it'd be nice to get this one up and running... :o)

My (complete) flight schedule for the fortnight is as follows :
Wednesday 2nd September - arrive Newark Airport, New York at 13.15 on Continental flight 29
Saturday 5th September - arrive Chicago O'Hare Airport at 13.35 on Continental flight 1163
(Cleveland roadtrip to and from Chicago slots in here)
Wednesday 9th September - arrive Austin, Texas at 14.50 on United flight 7547
Saturday 12th September - split flight : depart Austin for Dallas on American Airlines flight 1309, arriving 12.45. Depart Dallas for San Diego on American Airlines flight 1701, arriving 15.00
Tuesday 15th September - split flight : depart San Diego for Phoenix on US Airways flight 351, arriving 11.08. Depart Phoenix for Newark, NY on US Airways flight 685, arriving 20.02
Then up at the crack of sparrowfart on Wednesday 16th for my flight home!

Still no big events at the Garden on the 3rd or 4th, so the pub across the street is an option. They can accommodate big groups, and we would be well taken care of there (Mr. K is, um, something of a regular). Of course, if anyone has other thoughts, I'd welcome them.

I'm glad this post got bumped up! Two months ago I had no idea of my schedule,buy now....if it were to be Thursday the 3rd I will be able to make it.
I'm excited at just the possibility, since I've never been able to schedule it! I don't get to NYC very much, but MSG is fine with me. Just let me know!

I probably would not be able to make it if it were Friday. Thursday is more likely. However, if I can't make it to whenever the main meetup is I would love it if MCW had any time at all to stop by during the 3 days when she is here could (along with Kilroy and anyone else who wanted to!)

Aside from not being able to navigate the city, I have a legal engagement for that day. Employer not happy about that and I have to go in after. Sheesh, you would think I'm indispensible. However, maybe when it gets closer I will get someone's cell number if there's a last minute change at my end.

If you guys wander into Jersey, let me know. Thursday is going to be a horrible day. I have to be in court till who knows when (nothing serious, but this process is scaring the daylights out of me), then I have to go to work, regardless of what time it is. If I'm oh-so-valuable, why am I not making six figures?? Anyway, I have off on Friday.
