WHAT THE HAY, TUESDAY CAFE 5/19!

(77 posts)
  1. Up early to get Hubbs off to UF to help Son move from his apt. into the Fraternity house. He will be President his senior year, so he must live in house.......laughing envisioning the movie "Animal House".... but hey, I'm his Mom, so I'll trust that it won't really be like that! (right??!)....

Kitties are glad to see someone early this morning and yawn and stretch as they awake..... buffet is set out - bacon and eggs, sausage, ham and red-eye gravey!.... cheese grits and biscuts, with mounds of honey and butter!....

....come one, come all, lets make this a wonderful Tuesday....

  2. Hi, AV! I could use a cold glass of orange juice this morning. It's supposed to get up to 84 degrees here today. I could use a tuxie for snuggling this morning. My cats decided that they had snuggled enough last night and didn't want any snuggles or belly rubs this morning.

  3. Hi LK!.... slides a large glass of fresh squeezed juice across the counter to LK!..... a couple of big "rolly polly" tuxies "dive bomb" LK, purring loudly and begging to snuggle!.....

Tampa's high today said 89, with 1000% (kidding around 99) humidity!..... since I house cleaned yesturday, I guess I'd better get something done today with my paperwork!..... sorely lacking motivation!

AV, I know what you mean. I can think of lots of things I want to get done at home while I'm at work. I get home and just can't get movtivated to do anything I had planned.

  10. Hi CM!..... I'm thinking I will send a text to MC around 11am (10 her time).... sending love and hugs, and letting her know how much we all love her and are here...... I totally understand why phone calls at this stage would be difficult for her... a text is something she can read at her leisure..... I think it would be a good idea for the "call list" to continue again next week.... as she starts to feel better, she will feel more like talking, and I know staying in touch will make her feel loved......

Posted 2 years ago by AV #

  11. I agree about the call list, AV, for next week when she is more able to feel like talking and will need our support as her recovery continues.
Have a good day everyone (or a good night) as work is ready to begin for me.

  12. Good Morning, will have some jello and fruit please. That is about all I can take right now. Stomach still kinda wobbly!

  13. {{{{{{{{{{{{{{AMY!!!}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}

How are you? Did you sleep OK?? Are you hurting???

As you can probably tell, we're all really worried about you. If we could manage it, you would have a whole horde of people on your doorstep, coming to cook for you and fluff your pillows :)

Take it easy on your stomach, I can say from experience that the last thing you want is to add barfing to your list of challenges.

Posted 2 years ago by AV #

  15. KILROY, I already found that out, the HARD way! OOH, that is a road I do not want to go down again. Now if Betty would leave me aone long enough so that I could eat, I would be better.....

    Posted 2 years ago by mollycat71 #

  16. Awww, Betty is just trying to be a good nurse. (Wait, I think some TDK kitties did tell her to go take care of you. She is just being a good girl.)

  17. Amy we are so worried. Please take it easy..no going out..is someone coming to help you out?

Posted 2 years ago by cricketsmama #

  19. Does that mean the girls are friendly again, MC?

AV, the weather here is awful! It started raining early afternoon yesterday and it poured all through the night. It's supposed to rain all day today, too! I hate this kind of weather - makes me want to stay in bed :(

Bobby was pretty good last night. We went to sleep around 11:30 and he didn't get up until 4:30. I put him in the bathroom where he settled down until 6:15 when I let him out. Then he cried that he had no food and I got up and fed him and he let me get back to sleep.
I think the daily excursions outside are helping him sleep better at night. Unfortunately I can't take him out in this kind of weather :(

Bobby's Auntie Ellen and I are going out for sushi for lunch - yay!

  20. I second CM's question - do you have someone coming to help you out today? You need more than the UPS guy checking up on you...

Posted 2 years ago by Kilroy #

  21. Morning, all--and afternoon and evening--CM,AV,Kilroy,Ladykat,NNGM and anyone else I may have missed---MC!!!! good to see you're up for a bit! Sorry you have so much pain, but it will get better, just take care of yourself and let Betty pamper you a bit.
I'd love to have some scrambled eggs and sausage, and a cold glass of milk, please. And a kitty or two to cuddle with. Thanks

Had to feed the girls and now getting the diaper bag packed to run to Babies R Us for formula and monitors....the formula is cheaper there so that's where we go :)
MC, please rest...check in when you can, so we don't worry too much. we love you and send you lots of gentle hugs.

Posted 2 years ago by cricketsmama #

  23. ... back from breakfast, so glad to see MC posting, though I want her to get some rest!...... I tried to call her just a minute ago, but her cell phone still has the full message on.... I hope her friend takes it to the shop for her!...... she should NOT be home alone with no phone...... and MC, if you read this, please email someone (whom ever you are comfortable with) your friend's number so we have a "back up" contact......

GD :( sorry about the weather, it's rainy here today too in Tampa... although my grass is doing a happy dance! LOL

Posted 2 years ago by GreatDane #

  26. I know :(

only good news for me is that I leave for NC for four days, over the Memorial Day weekend!....... hope it's not as rainy up there, but it might be! wwaahhhh!

  27. Good morning all. I am very glad to see you post MC. I was very worried about you. Are we all becoming a bit overwhelming for you what with our checking up and all? we all care about you and worry when we don't hear from you. I am sure you pain level is almost unbearable at times.

DaisyMew if you see this, are you still planning a road trip to MC? If you are let us know so we can chip in for gas.

Weather is back to a nice 65 degrees here with it down in the high 40's to low 50's at night. My kind of weather.

When I got the vacume out last night, boy did my cats scatter. I felt so bad but I had to vacume my place and scrub the bathroom and kitchen as we have inspection on Wed between 1-4pm. I am going to put a sheet over my bookcase, another over my TV and another over my computer desk since I do not feel they should be able to view what is on them. I really feel this is an invasion of my privacy so I am going to stop at the property manager's office tonight to drop off my info and ask what they will be doing in my unit and who will be going into my unit. I want to know all details and if they will be opening kitchen cupboards, any of my closets, my fridge and other items and will ask for what reason if they are doing so. If they are evasive with my question, I will keep asking why till I feel comfortable with their answer. This is so frustrating! I haven't ever gone through an inspection while living in an apartment before. It has always been when no one is living in the unit. It is definitely an invasion of privacy and makes me almost want to take the time off from work so I can be there to watch what they do. I hate to take the time off but I might consider it.

May I please have some scrambled eggs with some white cheddar cheese sprinkled on them, extra crispy bacon and a nice glass of chilled orange juice please.

I tickled Mia's belly and she bit me this morning. Serves me right as I know she doesn't like anyone to touch that part of her. Sylvester loves his belly rubs so I can do that with him.

  28. back from Babies R US, the grocery store(had to order a cake for Wayne's birthday) and then McDonalds for Maddie's nuggets :)
Hi SMM!! *hands SMM plate of goodies* First of all why do they do an inspection?? what is that? I have never, ever heard of that. To me that smells to high heaven. I would be questioning that as well!

Posted 2 years ago by cricketsmama #

  29. CM, we have a new property manager who starts today as well as the owner has deeded the apartment complex over to her son (guessing this is getting around inheritance tax or some sort of tax). In the notice that they put on the front door this past Saturday (when proper procedure would have been to put the notice on each unit's door) it stated these changes as well as the fact that they would be putting dual pane windows, new front doors and new balcony railings on all the units that face the water and the street. I am guessing they want to beautify the building so that when people drive by, it catches their eye. If after these inspections, they try to raise rents, they will have a number of tenants moving out including me. I hope it doesn't come to that but we will find out in the coming days and weeks.

  30. MC, if you read this we really need some information so that we don't continue to worry ourselves into early gray hair, or steadily increasing numbers of boxes of hair color.

Now, I have to shout here to get your attention. YOU NEED TO HAVE HOME HEALTH CARE NURSES AND AIDES COMING IN TO HELP YOU RIGHT NOW. AND TO GET THAT, ALL YOU NEED TO DO IS TO CALL YOUR NEUROSURGEON'S OFFICE AND TALK TO HIS NURSE OR PA.

There, sorry. They can get it started today if you will just give them a call.

Someone needs to be with you to get your meals, help you with bathing, make sure that you are drinking plenty of fluids. Would you consider, please, asking your sister or your mother to come and stay for a few days? If not, is there someone that you work with who could come and stay at your house with you for just two or three days?

Okay, one more shout. YOU SHOULD NOT BE ALONE RIGHT NOW.

We are a bit hand tied in trying to help because of patient confidentiality laws. But we are all worried. Could you give us the number of your office, or of a co-worker? Could you give us your sister's phone number?

    CALL YOUR DOCTOR TODAY.

    *sigh*
