  2. Hi all. Won't even try to list names - don't want to miss anyone.

Gonna be another warm one here today. About 102. No hiking today... doing that 4 mile hike at 106 degrees was enough last night ! Feel pretty good today though. Training session today. Glad we're working on upper body today!

WWM - I so appreciate your efforts and knowledge. I just hope Amy follows through.

SMM - mine were hiding from the 60 mph winds last night ! They didn't like that sound at all. They also run from the vacuum...

I'd love a plate of scrambled eggs with green chilies and cheese, crispy bacon and hash browns along with icey cold milk to wash it all down. Yum!

  3. Finally got a chance to get back to the cafe...
Judging from all the messages on various threads for Mollycat, I think she gets the message that we are all concerned for her and her well-being. But in case she missed it anywhere...MC,take it easy, get some nourishment, rest, and kitty-loving.
The duplex where I live has a city inspection almost every two years. I always panic and clean and shove things into closets, etc. The last time I asked to be there because I was afraid that Chance would get out or shut up somewhere. It was very simple in that they are mostly checking basic areas to make sure everything is working okay.

  4. Hi there, MCW reporting in after a couple of days' absence. Have had a rough few days with the neck, finally took myself back to the Pain Clinic and have some new drugs and an appointment for an MRI scan. Getting more than a little fed up! How is everyone? I gather MC is as well as can be expected...any other major news I've missed?

  5. MCW!!!! Do the new med's seem to be helping? What an ordeal! Now, if it were me experiencing all of that, I could sort of understand it. You know, due to my advanced age and all.

  6. Don't know yet WWM, I don't take the first one til bedtime tonight. They're some sort of nerve pain inhibitor. I really hope they do work, the last week has been rougher than rough...

  7. {{{MCW}}} Sorry you're still hurting. I was going to joyfully announce that my ******** headache *finally* went away, but now I feel bad :( I have no magic bullet, just sympathy and gentle hugs.

  8. hello all! it has been a busy day! I slept well last night, I have a snuggle bandit.Gallo. He is growing up....I love him....

  9. Don't be daft Kilroy, I'm glad your head's better :o) Although a magic bullet sounds good!!

  10. MCW, just cheking in really quickly before I'm off to pick up the boys.
So sorry to hear about your neck. I have been suffering from a neck injury since October. I had never had a neck issue before...I never would have known how debilitating this can be. I can give you hope, although I , of course, don't know the particulars of your diagnosis. After months of physical therapy , I have had significant improvement. An ice pack applied multiple times a day fro 15 mins plus, was also a great help. Best wishes.

  11. Aaarrgghh!!!!! Thanks TL, in this instance the problem seems to have been triggered by a physio exercise I was given for problem neck/shoulders back in January!!!! You're right though, you just wouldn't realise how debilitating a painful neck is. I get a lot of relief from heat, my hot water bottle is my best friend!

  12. Afternoon everyone, my crew hides when the vacuum is pulled out also...its a monster that somehow is trying to get 'them'. Its too hot even with it only being 95F, just feels stuffy. 2P, did you get rain with all that wind up there last night? Was watching the news before work last night and it showed lots of rain over the Phoenix area.

MCW, sorry to hear about your neck issues and hope that the new meds help lessen them and that the MRI finds the problem.

Tigerlilly, glad that physical therapy is working, the ice pack works for me too and I have to set a kitchen timer to make sure I don't go over the 15 mins per session.

  13. Have you ever worn one of the padded neck braces, MCW? I had some sort of muscle spasm that wouldn't let go (a couple of decades ago) and wore one for a couple of days. Just having the weight of my head supported by that instead of just my neck was a huge relief. It looks kind of funny though. :)

  14. Nope, they haven't suggested that KW - the pain is less if I keep my head down slightly (makes driving difficult!), rather than just supporting my head. If I keep it too immobile it stiffens up and causes more problems. My Mum suggested amputation from the chin down...!

Posted 3 years ago by MadcatwomanintheUK #

  15. Bad Mum!

Posted 3 years ago by Kilroy #

  16. KW, I need one of those neck braces for when my head is just too heavy to hold up or so it feels.

MCW, I have that same thought myself at times, just amputate the flipping thing and give me a new one! The only thing about holding your head slightly down is it gets more comfortable to stay that way....or at least it does with me at times, and I am afraid it will want to stay that way...at least in my experience I get those thoughts.

  18. I know exactly what you mean Azdeb - but hopefully this is just temporary, they'll find out what's causing it and treat it, and I'll be walking with my head held high by the time I come over to the States!!

Posted 3 years ago by MadcatwomanintheUK #

  19. KW - that's so cute!

Posted 3 years ago by MadcatwomanintheUK #

  20. Oh Deb, if I had a nickel for every time I've said, "I want a new head", I would be retired now. That's basically my shortcut for telling hubby when my head hurts, that or "I hate my head". I so know that feeling.

  21. *yawns*

Off to bed and to test these here new drugs then - g'night all!

  22. Night-night, MCW

Posted 3 years ago by Kilroy #

  23. G'night MCW :)

KW, that is too cute, wonder how they would take that look @ work, lol.

Kilroy, oh trust me I have said the same thing many times over :)

  24. Hi all!
Karin - is there any way you could take the afternoon off tomorrow and be there while they do the inspection?
I went into a cleaning frenzy myself this morning. My friend Ellen and I were going out for sushi for lunch and she said she'd pick me up and say hi to Bobby, so I figured it was time to clean up the place! Bobby was outside on his leash chasing lizards in the bushes when she came by and he got scared and ran inside. Once he got in, he realized it was his Auntie Ellen and was happy again :) Mi hid under the ottoman!

We had a nice lunch at the sushi buffet and hung out for a couple of hours. Stopped home, went and met my tennis pro to get a key to the golf cart to maintain the courts and then to XBF's to pick up my mail. THen it was time for work already!

I just found out I'm off on Monday! It'll be nice with a day off, but I'm not getting paid, so that's less nice. Maybe I'll go to te beach or something.

Posted 3 years ago by GreatDane #

  25. AZDeb - LOTS of wind and only a spit of rain. More rain would have been nice.

GD - I'd love to go to the beach on my day off! It's a 6 hour drive though. Dang.

Posted 3 years ago by 2 Popoki #

  26. Just start early, 2p :)

You know - I thought of it because you mentioned you were going hiking yesterday. I like long walks and was jealous that I don't have anywhere to hike! That's when I thought maybe I'd just go to the beach and walk there!

Posted 3 years ago by GreatDane #

  27. ..... I love to walk on the beach!.... and I'm so lucky cause the Bayshore is only 2 blocks from my house..... part of the reason Son bought me the Cat stroller for Mother's Day!..... Abby and I love our walks!

Posted 3 years ago by AV #

  28. I love walking on the beach. We have lots of 'beach' but no ocean. :) One of these weekends I'll make the trek to So Cal... need to see my son. And get some beach time.

XBF seems to be back to BF status. He is orignally from San Diego and I know he'd go back any time to see his family. Would make the drive more fun...

Posted 3 years ago by 2 Popoki #

  29. Those XBF/BF, 2p - it can be tough to figure out exactly what they are!!! Just make sure he's good to you!!!
