Can't guarantee for how long but I am gonna try at least a 1/2 hour today! Wow, I was rubbing my head yesterday and found a whole nuther row of stitches back there! No wonder it hurts so much! The surgeon said when he got inside there was a big old mess inside, way too much smooshed into one little area. He ended up removing my entire top vertebrae. He also took out a big chunk of my skull itself and "resectioned" the underlying brain tissue (hence the pain and tightness) to support what was left behind. OOH, OOH, OOH, I had no idea what this was gonna feel like. Now if Betty would take one foot and massage it and Wilma take the other.......

MC - don't try to do too much!!! Rest, sleep (that knits the ravelled sleeve of care) is the best thing for you... and take the pain meds - the body ehals better when it thinks it is not in pain... {{{{gentle hugs}}}} and a virtual foot massage... Is there someone local we could hire to perform that small task for you?

Amy, we have all been worried sick about you. Is someone taking your phone today to be repaired? You simply cannot be at home without a phone. Also, I want you to contact your doctor and get him to write an order for home health care for a couple of weeks. If you don't want to do that, perhaps you could give me his name and number and I could call and speak to his nurse? There is a strong possibility that they wouldn't be able to talk to me about you since I am not family (well, not blood anyway). So, it would be good if you called his nurse.
Are you eating and drinking? I'm worried that you're not getting enough liquid or protein and that you will dehydrate. You need protein for wound healing.
I know - so many questions!

MC, please listen to WWM....it is really quite important to eat, not just to aid in the healing process, but also, the side effects of pain meds will only be compundede if taken on an empty stomach.

amy i am ao happy to hear from you !! no wonder you are in pain , ouch all those staples . the surgeon really did a number on you..lol.. please get some rest and i think wwm is right you need at least a home health aid to come check on you. yes eat rest and better living through chemicals..lol.... lydia is worried about you , she called betty and wilma to watch you closely. so if you see your girls staring at you.. you'll know why...

Oh what a relief to hear from you MC.......So relieved to hear a co-worker is coming by. I know we'd all feel better if one of us...WWM perhaps or Buttercup or Tigerlilly had anyone's number until you are able to send yours out for repair. Or even have someone bring a disposable phone temporarily. So, so happy to hear from you sweetie. Am there with you in spirit and love. =)

So happy to hear that MC has been up today. But I do hope she's now back in bed resting after a co-worker visit and perhaps some nourishment. Prayers for her that she is now on the mend and feeling better every day. (It's so hard to work and worry and wish I could do more for MC.)
