  1. Hi, sweeties -- wonderful stories today, and sounds like everyone is doing well. And it is so great to hear from you, Amy! We were all a bit worried.

**Emma quickly dials the rescue group and cancels the TDK Helicopter Crew, re-deploys the Cute UPS Guy Patrol, and the Cat Commandos at the TDK WormHole. Feral Cat Guardians are alerted to stand down for now. The TDK Nursing Platoon, under the sure and steady guidance of WWM, is notified.**

  2. Morning everyone. Please pass the aleve, the cough medicine and some hot tea. I have a sore throat this morning and am working on a chest cold. Plus, I pulled my back yesterday tusseling with a friend's 4-year old! I went to the chiropractor yesterday and iced my back all evening. Thank you MCW for the Strepsils, I am sucking on the extra strength ones!

CM, I hope it isn't Blue Bear who has gone missing! IF so, he may be out having an adventure and will be back soon. If it is someone else, then maybe Maddie and Blue Bear need to put on their detective hats and form a search party!

Morning all! I am sending everyone blue skies and mild temperatures!

  3. Good morning, Everyone!!!

And how is everyone this bright, sunny morning? KK, I'm sorry about the cold! And DM, take a nap!

MC, you had better not let me catch you in there with no phone, no one checking on you, not eating....... We could need that helicopter yet!

If y'all don't mind, I think that I will start a new thread for MC health updates. It might be easier for us to follow rather than going to two or three threads.

Hope everyone is having a good morning!

  4. A late good morning everyone! AV, that story was funny.....men sure have BIG egos when it comes to asking for 'help'.....sorry all you men TDKers out there! Yesterday was gorgeous, in the 80's and sunny, is also sunny today and almost 80 now....yahoo! I LOVE it :)))

  5. Hi Emma, WWM and Kykat!!
sorry you are not feeling well KK :( Take care of yourself and get better soon :)
Blue Bear is safe in her bed...it's Brobee from Yo Gabba Gabba....he's still missing by the way...
We went outside for a while during Abbie's nap and there was a HUGE bumblebee and he was hovering around our wooden fence...So I kept my eye on him...finally saw him land and start making a hole! He got some wood off and I knew he had to die...I am AFRAID of most bugs...but I got him..SPLAT on the fence...got him off and threw him out of the yard...reading online though..I think he was a Carpenter Bee...Never heard of them, but it makes sense...*shudder*

  6. Hi Katt...you snuck in while I was typing :)

  7. Good morning all! I am soooo glad to see MC posting. Hope you feel better soon. Seems your kitties are velcro kitties now. Worried about their Momma. Take good care of MC, Betty and Wilma.

Kykat, I hope you can lick that sore throat (oh I made a bad pun), DM, sorry you didn't sleep good last night. AV, funny story about your son but at least he got you where you needed to be. My Dad won't ask for directions because he has a really good sense of direction and usually if we are lost, he knows how to get us back on track somehow. I have picked up that trait from him in addition to a few others.

It is a brisk morning with temperature at 55 degrees. It will warm up later to around 70 degrees. I like this kind of weather. Kitties want to snuggle at night. I had a strange dream that had me being caught by some authorities for stealing money from an employer. What is even more interesting is while I was dreaming that event, I recalled the original dream where I was taking the money! So of course what with my busy night of dreaming, I awoke feeling tired. I too have mourning dove outside my window that will start their cooing around 4 or 5am. The doves are in for the fourth round of babies. After the third round got possibly taken by the calico cat I saw one night, I am surprised the doves are nesting again. Might be a different pair this time.

I spoke with the property owner yesterday about the inspection and she said that she, her son, and the new property manager would be doing the inspections and that it was for checking out all the plumbing in each unit. So they will check the kitchen sink, bathroom sink, toilet, and bathtub. The owner said that in the past she has had to replace a whole wall around the bathtub in addition to removing the bathtub due to leaks that apparently tenants didn't know existed. She said it cost her a lot to do these kind of repairs. I think that is one reason but the other may be to make the property manager aware of what some of the units look like as well as check out what the tenants have been doing in their units. I was going to put sheets over my bookcase, computer and TV but I ran out of time this morning and figured that if I did that, they would just move the sheet aside if they were the nosey type.

So may I please have an egg and extra crispy bacon croissant sammie, a large glass of chilled mango juice and a large mocha with a dollop of whip cream and a splash of baileys and kaluha to liven me up. Thank you very much.

Happy Hump Day! It is downhill to a three day weekend. Whoohoo!

  8. Hey SMM,

The inspections will not be a problem for property renters, like yourself, who take care of their homes. It most likely is to get the new manager into each unit to identify future problems and to have a familiarity. The did inspections at my sister's apartments recently and it was to identify which of the long term renters were due for new flooring. My sister got new lino is the kitchen and bath's and is on the list for new carpet!

  9. Hello everyone ! Just another day in paradise here. Slightly cooler today, only expected to be 95. Cloudy and a bit muggy.

Had training session #2 last night. So far so good. That was followed by a last minute invitation to a surprise birthday dinner. A nice evening.

SMM - must have been the night for strange dreams. I dreamed something about getting away in a small boat with a trolling motor. Obviously not getting anywhere fast !

Belgian waffle with strawberries and whipped cream with a side of crispy bacon sounds good. Oh, and a tall, cold glass of OJ

  10. Hello to all who came on when I had to leave for work. I posted on MC health status thread: I called just a few minutes ago and got her voice mail (must mean her phone's fixed). I assume she is resting and since she has been posting from time to time, I hope everything is better. It would be nice to have physical contact just to know everything is going well.
I'd be happy to send some of our heat to those needing it. It's too early in our summer for the temps to be getting this warm.

  11. Good morning everyone! Today is slightly more relaxed than the previous days. I have a final tonight at 6, but other than that my day is completely free to study and have relaxation breaks. Thank goodness. MC I'm glad to see you up and posting and hope all is well!

  13. Kykat, they only replace the internal items such as carpet or flooring when someone moves out. I think if it breaks from normal wear and tear, then they will replace it. I saw one tenant get a newer stove delivered to their unit but I didn't see them remove the old stove so I am not sure why but it must have been because the old one broke down. They did say they were replacing the windows, doors and balcony railings on the units facing the water. Of course these are the two bedroom two bath pricy units so they may be doing this to try to keep the current tenants since they keep having people move out. I believe there are three units available that are water front and two bedroom two bath units. They rent out from $1750 on up to $2000 a month! That is a mortgage payment! Ouch! One has to be making at least around $90k a year and have very little debt to afford that kind of rent.

Gini, glad to hear you get a bit of a break today from all the finals and papers due. Taco and Feeny, give your Momma some cuddles to help her destress. Ladykat, sending you some of our nice cooling fog from the San Francisco Bay Area. That should get you down to a nice 70-75 degrees.

  14. SMM - OUCH!! That's some steep rent! Mortgage payment? That's 4-5 times what my mortgage payment is! Of course, I'm not in CA either....

Posted 2 years ago by 2 Popoki #

  15. Yes, that is the price we pay for living in California. Many times this past year I have thought about moving to another state (Portland, Oregon area for one) due to the area I live in being one of the top 10 most expensive places to live in the USA. Problem is there aren't jobs to be had so that will have to be put on the back burner for another time.

  16. HI all I always an late to the party! Gallo the Gato is more active so we are playing more and JW seems to "need" me more... Julia spent the morning scaring the Boxers (Luke and Lexie...Rumor is the one that hasn't learned that CATS rule)....

  17. Just up from my little nappy for an afternoon "bed bath" with the girls! Boy that was fun! They were splishing and splashing in the water while I was trying to wash something! It was kind of a mess, but it was good to see the girls all together again, they finally think I don't smell like the vet anymore. I just smell like mom. I noticed a few packages outside but am gonna have to wait for my neighbor to carry them in cause I can't ben and pick up stuff. May have to look for that cute cop again! Yes, WWM, I am a wimp, when you peek in on me and the girls we won't be (or I won't be) causing a shennanigan's that's for sure. I hurt too much and this is way to painful to screw up or go thru again.

    Posted 2 years ago by mollycat71 #

  18. Amy! Glad to see you are up and about a little. Take it easy, the packages can wait. I'm so glad the girls are in cuddle mode again.

  19. No shenanigans, you hear young lady! I'm glad to hear the kitties are being friendly again; hope they can make you smile a bit.

  21. Hi all!
I had a busy day. Got some tennis in this morning, but the courts were pretty wet, so it wasn't very good. THen went and met a friend at Panera and then to Target for gummi bears and a tooth brush :)
Went home and went out with the kitties for a while, showered and ran to work. Now trying to catch up on emails and TDK.

  22. GD, you have created two monsters. It's the LickKitty!!!! We've already replaced the original one that Bobby and Milo gave my girls twice. Yesterday, at Willow's direction, we went to PetSmart but they were out!!!! She goes and sits where the saucer was with the LickKitty with the most pitiful look on her face. I checked on-line and I can order them, but the S&H costs more than the LickKitty! Arg!!!!

Posted 2 years ago by WillowandWindismom #

  23. Oh no, WWM!!!!! Poor Willow! I can send her some! :)

Posted 2 years ago by GreatDane #

  24. Hopefully they have reordered! When we got the two after they finished the one from Bobby and Milo, they only had about five. Stupidly, I didn't buy all of them :-( We had to put the saucer away, even though the current LickKitty has a little bit left, because Willow was trying constantly to get that little cover off of it. Wish they would come out with some other flavors.

  25. Well, we are off to do a bike ride called Ride of Silence. It will be held around the world at 7:00 pm this evening. Or whatever equates to 7:00 pm! It is to remember bike riders who have been killed while riding their bikes. Maybe it heightens awareness among drivers with regards to bikers. Of course, it's a gazillion degrees outside and a wind has picked up. But it's not all that long of a ride and the speed will be kept no higher than 12 mph. So I should be okay!

Please keep the MollyCat health status thread bumped up so that it stays close to the top!

  26. WWM - Milo figured out pretty quickly how to take the top off!!

Have a good time, WWM - seems like a nice event.

Posted 2 years ago by GreatDane #

  27. We're back. It was only a 15 mile ride. The pace was sooo slow but we were following a sheriff's car so were held to no more than 12 mph. Not too hot, thank goodness, but there was a pretty stiff wind. When you're going that slow, it doesn't make too much of a difference!

Posted 2 years ago by WillowandWindismom #

  28. WWM - Thank You for participating - one of my nieces was killed in an accident - she had her helmet on and the only mark on her body was at the back of her head, about the size of a 1/2 dollar - she had been 21 only 3 months when we lost her.

Posted 2 years ago by KarenCentennial #

  29. KC, I am so sorry about your niece! There have been several bike riders killed here. All by drunk drivers. There were probably 40 people who rode last night to remember them.
