please send some healing light

  1. miso, now nearly 8 months old, had been coughing a strange little cough, and panting heavily like a dog after short bursts of playing. She was x-rayed yesterday, and a shadow showed up in front of her heart. The vet says it could be a thymic mass (a tumor of some sort) or hopefully fluid, or congested mucus. He made an appointment for us for tomorrow at the vet college, which has state-of-the-art equipment. He also retested miso for FIV and FeLV, which she had tested negative for at 3 months old, and which again came back negative. But I've been reading that increasing numbers of Feline Leukemia negative cats are presenting with lympho-sarcomas. She was a feral kitten. I am worried sick, and pretty upset at the thought that I could be having to choose whether to go the chemo treatment route, or to decide to let things take their course. I don't want my baby to go through a long course of treatment - she would be terrified.

  7. she's the happiest little girl in the world, and this has hit us hard when we thought we were out of the woods after the FIV and FeLV tests came back negative last December. I was so upset in work that my boss, who's a cat person, told me to go home. So miso and I spent the day going for walks in the garden (in her new purple walking harness, which she loves). She has only the two symptoms I describe, but the vet says if it is a tumor, the prognosis is not good. Thanks for all your thoughts - it makes a difference to know there is good energy coming our way. I've asked all my friends and family to visualize the mass in her little chest melting like ice in heat..

  22. The TDK White Light is pretty powerful. If anything can assure you and Miso a good outcome, the white light can.

I just looked at Miso's Catster page. I just love the picture of her on her back with all her little claws shining in the air.

I hope she's just got some fluid or a little infection. How fortunate that you have a vet college nearby. Keep us up to date.

  23. I'm in tears reading all of your lovely messages - they mean a lot, and I often read similar posts by other TDK members and hoped I wouldn't have to go through the pain they described. It's one thing when a dear furry companion of advanced years has to pass over the bridge, but when your kitten or young cat is ill, it's a very different sort of pain. Thank you all so much. I've just got up here in Ireland, and we're going off to the college now. miso is not pleased with me because I can't feed her - that's the worst part, not being able to explain, isn't it? I'll let you all know as soon as we have a clear result.

  27. Thank you all so much - I think your thoughts, energy and white light have done something! We are just back from the vet college (an amazing and beautiful place) and miso is wolfing down some well-deserved ocean fish! The vet, a cool lady who quickly lost her reserve as she fell in love with my velvet baby, is not convinced that the mass showing on the x-ray is a tumor, but she wants to take miso in for a day of tests next week. She listened to her heart and lungs for a very long time, and had to go to get a baby stethoscope, as miso is tiny. She says her lungs/breathing is very harsh and very fast, so that may be where the problem lies. The super-duper x-ray machine is being serviced today so she thought it would be best to do a fine x-ray and ultra-sound together next wednesday, then proceed to a bronchial exam if a heart problem/tumor is ruled out. I think if miso has a heart murmur or a lung issue, it can be treated with medication, or even an operation. I feel so much better, even with the possibility that it's not a tumor, and even though we have to wait another 6 days before we get the answer. I will post an update then, meanwhile, thanks everyone, and keep little miso in your thoughts from time to time. Helen

  28. I have had to Feline Leukemia cats. I loved them with all my heart. I am so sorry you are going through this. I know how hard it is to see them so sick and feeling so helpless. There are so many treatments--my prayer is no matter the outcome you find a treatment to help Miso.
