  2. The new meds seem to be working pretty well TL, and I'm still gradually increasing the dose as directed to find the best level & frequency. You should see these tabelst though! - HUGE and bright orange! Helpful if I ever need them in the night I guess... ;O)

    Thanks for asking!

  3. Good to hear. Ughhh, I hate big pills!

Posted 2 years ago by Tigerlilly #

  4. They're that big I had to re-read the leaflet and make sure I was meant to swallow them, not - er - *ahem* insert them any place ;o)

  5. LOL MCW....This reminds me of a true story from the labor and delivery nurses. They did not understand why a teenager that they had educated about taking the pill had come back the following year pregnant again....come to find out she had faithfully been "inserting" the pill daily, not taking it per se!!

  6. Oh, TL - that reminds ME of a story! I was working in public health in El Paso and we did pregnancy testing and then prenatal care in the city clinics. I was at the clinic in Ysleta and a 13 year old came in, with her mother, for a pregnancy test. It was positive - and ..... it was her second pregnancy. Her mother became enraged at the NP who had dispensed foam to the girl after the first delivery. The mother began yelling about how could her daughter be pregnant again??? It had to be our fault for giving her a contraceptive that didn't work. When the NP asked how they had used the foam, the mother replied that every morning, without fail, she had put it in her daughter's boyfriends coffee.....

And they wonder why there is a nursing shortage.......

  7. WWM! You just made me spit out a mouthful of a very nice Chardonnay! OMG!

  8. LOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! At both stories!

  9. LOL WWM, I'm sure you and I could fill a whole year's worth of TDK posts of similar stories. Almost daily I questioned why I had been wrongly taught that humans were the intelligent species on this planet.

  10. Lol, Kilroy, I thought you were going to say " a mouthful of coffee....with creamer in it!!"

  11. Work's over and the weekend is officially started, TL.

  12. Have a grand time. BTW, how's your headache?

Posted 2 years ago by Tigerlilly #

  13. Gone, finally, thank God. It actually kept me home from work last Monday, but by the end of last week it had finally gone away. That's how it generally works; it gets progressively worse for weeks and then boom! it's gone.

  14. Mother hen here: hope you've had your blood pressure checked (while you have the headache).

  15. OMG WWM that was hilarious. My friend who worked in one of those Urgent Cares and she told me a story that how a woman/girl came in because she had issues below and when they checked her out, she had purple discharge..come to find out she was told to get some jelly to help her out with issues so she bought Smuckers Grape and used it.

  16. Yes, CM, diagnosis has often been made when patient brings in purple diaphragm!

  17. Dumb doctors are always telling me my BP is too high, but they're the *reason* it's too high, I'm utterly allergic to white coats. When I take it at home it's perfectly fine. Thanks for asking, though.

Posted 2 years ago by Kilroy #

  18. Be careful Kilroy, you have to be sure you have the right equipment at home, some of the home monitors are not really very good in the accuracy department. ...Just worried here
*pout...not all doctors are dumb, are they WWM?*

Posted 2 years ago by Tigerlilly #

  19. I knew as soon as I wrote that that I shouldn't have. I'm sorry, TL. I know not all doctors are dumb, in fact I have a neurosurgeon who is definitely *not* dumb, so there are good ones out there. They just stress me out, that's all.

Oh, and I did my homework before I bought a home monitor and got the best one I could afford; I know they're not perfect, but this one was highly rated and well reviewed.

  20. It's just gone midnight here in the UK, Chris is snoring his head off on the other sofa, and I suddenly have an overwhelming need for chocolate. But there is none in the house.

    SOS!!!!!

  21. Though I can't top the nurse stories, we have a few of our own from the cosmetics world. A woman came in and wanted to return a facial toner called Tonique Doucer. When I asked why she wanted to return it, she said it burned. I knew that the toner in question is alcohol free and made with flower water, so I asked her how she was using it. She looked confused. I asked, "Do you put some on a cotton ball and use it after your cleanser?" She said, "Cotton ball? Isn't this douche?"

  25. *is happy now has had chocolate*

Heading for bed - g'night all!

  26. Oh, dear - you know how you laugh so hard your tummy hurts???? That's just happened!

And no, TL - not all doctors are dumb. I worked for two of the finest general surgeons ever and I love them to pieces. We still email. Although, oddly enough, one sends nothing but dirty jokes. I wonder if his wife knows how he is spending his retirement years?

*takes grape jelly off of grocery list*
