  1. i...really should have posted here first -- but this morning i was so tired i didn't even notice the intro topic -.-;;

    anyway, i'm Crystal, also known as Thirdo on many online sites (Asian media ones mostly. yesterday i picked up my very first small kitten (the youngest i ever had was 5 months old). his name is Damon and he's 6-8 weeks old.

    i joined this site mainly because, like i said, he's the first kitten i've had this young, and i wanted some place to turn to if i had any problems. like this morning when the little bugger got out of the box i had put him in last night (during the day he has the whole up stairs to wander) and wouldn't let me go back to sleep at 3AM >.<;

    already got some awesome advice on some of my concerns and i should have pictures of my little demon up soon ^.^

  2. Hi Crystal--welcome to TDK,a fountain of kitty/kitten information, lots of good people and advice. Your little demon, Damon, seems to be an active little guy--what fun to have a kitten again. I've usually adopted adults because they're harder to place when they are 5 years and older. You may have to deal with him like a real baby for a while, but they do grow up fast--too fast.

    There might not be too many people on the site today because it's a holiday weekend. Most everyone should be back on Tuesday. Have a nice weekend!

  3. thanks for the welcome -- he is a little hand full. he cries when i leave him alone, he cries when i'm not looking at him, he cries when i'm holding him, but all my attention is not on him. but he's a cutie and i love him.

    i would normally have gotten an older cat, but the last cat i got was on the older side, and from the streets, and the vet told me the reason she had so many medical problems was because she had lived so much of her life without a home.

    and i know it's probably silly, but i'm kind of hoping that by adopting a younger in the hopes that he will have less problems and live a longer life.

  4. Hi again-If you've got the time to spend with him, it will be worth it in the long run. The more attention you pay to him, and the more human contact he has, the more loving he will be. Hopefully, you will have a long, loving relationship with him. It's so worth it.
