Okay, okay, I'm semi-veg so I would like some of those yummy Portobello mushrooms KW promised us on the nightshift, please, with hamburger buns with all the trimmings and a big plate of chips (fries)!
We had our Memorial Day on Anzac Day (April 25), which is when we remember our soldiers. But during WWII, we had US marines stationed in KK's part of the world, on the Kapiti Coast. Our soldiers were in Egypt so the Marines were sent to help protect NZ from possible Japanese invasion. They introduced us to milkbars! (well, not me personally, I'm not THAT ancient!)

......puts a large portobella on the grill for Jcat.... drizzles it with olive olive oil, salt & pepper..... serves it on a toasted bun, topped with a nice mixture of black beans mixed with feta cheese and carmolized onions, fresh cilantro and a hint of garlic..... try this Jcat!

Yes Abs, it has stopped raining for a bit. I guess Orlando got a lot yesterday. Our water receded to normal level in about 6 hrs. I couldn't believe it. Bob thinks it never happened and we were having nightmares!!!!!

...Jcat, we are at the top of the mountain, which is just under 5000 feet...sweet dreams!...
... SOM! LOL, why is it men seem to downplay scary things (after they're over of course!).... never can admit they're scared, nor can they stop to ask directions!.... LOL...."gotta love 'em"....
but seriously, glad the rain is giving you a bit of a break!.... looks like more may be headed here in a few days!....

Good Morning to all! I am living a nightmare today - John called last night and his move to Loveland is not working out for a lot of different reasons and he and the cats are moving back here today! Richard & I are kind of down about it, but there really isn't a choice - when your kid needs help, you help. Richard and I just got the house back to the way we like it and Life happens!

Oh dear KC. But you are right, we always help our kids, no matter what it costs us.
Today is Spring Bank Holiday Monday in UK. It used to be Whitmonday, but the powers that be decided years ago that it is annoying to have too many moveable feasts. Whitsun (or Pentecost if you prefer) moves according to the date of Easter, so they decided to abandon Whitsun and the Whit Monday holiday and fix a Spring Bank Holiday instead. Now they are talking about "fixing" Easter too.

Gotta love when the powers to be decide things, scary actually.
Well got to get ready for shift change and leave out of this wonderful place at least until Saturday evening....be back on-line when I get home a bit later. Have a great day no matter where you are.

Hi, Everyone! I'm back from the gym but Mr. WWM is not back from his bike ride. He thought that they would be out till noon or so. I would like to have gone so that I could be at the ceremony at the Vietnam Memorial. But 37 miles on a hybrid bike is a bit much.
AV, the pictures are beautiful! But what is all of that green stuff? Is that mold? And what are those bumps in the earth???? An earthquake did that, maybe?

Morning, all!
I am at work (boo!). Can I get a medium rare burger with Swiss cheese and mushroooms, pretty please? And maybe some potato salad?
I woke up this morning going OW!, could sure tell that I'd done a workout yesterday that I hadn't done in a while (lifting weights). Yowie, but worth it.
It's a beautiful day in NYC, the rain we were supposed to get over the weekend never materialized, at least not in our neighborhood (it did rain further north in the city).
Happy Memorial Monday, all.

WWM - what are you doing going to the gym on Memorial Day? Not even I went to the gym today!
How is everyone this morning? I had another rough night with Bobby, but at least I could sleep in til nine, so that's okay. I wanted to watch the French Open today but they're only showing it on The Tennis Channel which has me fuming. This is the first time where they've skipped days in coverage on the regular networks (ESPN 2) to show it on one of the channels you have to pay extra for. VERY unhappy!
Then the landlord knocked on my door and told me he had shut off the water for a few hours to work on something. I had him turn it back on so I could take a shower, but now it's off again and the boys are running out of water in their bowl. I may have to go aks Mr. T's mom for a bowl of her water! Can I have a well-done cheese burger? As of yesterday, I've lost 27 lbs. so I think I can allow myself a nice meal :)

My regular gym was closed, GD. But we have a satellite gym that's a 24 hr gym and you let yourself in with your gym key. I was the only woman there and there were a few guys using the arm weights. I did wait to go until it was light because it makes me a little bit nervous to be the only one in there. I knew a couple of the guys that were there. One of them is a dead ringer for Denzel Washington! Mr. WWM went with the bike club on a 37 mile ride to the Vietnam Memorial. Originally I had planned to go. But 25 miles is the most that I've ridden in quite a while. And they all ride road bikes, which I can't begin to match their speed when I'm riding a hybrid.
Holy Guacamole!!! 27 lbs - that is awesome! You don't need to lose more. I think you look great!

Thanks, WWM! This bland diet and new eating habits have really done the trick!
37 miles is quite far on a hybrid - probably a good thing you chose the gym instead. My gym is actually open today - but only from 8 to 1 which means I'm off! I would have rather worked and made money, but instead I'm going to enjoy a day off. I have no plans, but plenty of things to do to chose from.
