  1. These were Bantry Bay mussels and particularly tasty.

  2. I have some slightly sour lemonade. Not sure when I will be back on the "hard" stuff.

  3. Those mussels sound delish, PM. Hubby makes mussels in white wine in the summertime and we sit out on our balcony and make absolute pigs of ourselves :)

  4. The sauce was similar to a moules marinières with white wine and cream, except it had lime and just a little giner as well. I cannot tell you how good it was.

Hey Kilroy I'm off to Porters tomorrow for lunch - jealous?

  5. And in the evening I'm going to watch an episode of QI being filmed.

  8. Porter's! I wanna go too! *pout* Have the fish pie for me, or at least think about it, OK PM?

Question - what is QI? Oh, never mind, I just answered my own question. I think Mike & I might have seen it while we were in London. Watching it being filmed should be a hoot, have fun.

Opahall, thank you for the compliment. George says thank you too.

  13. oooohhh, that fish pie sounds lovely..... I think I could make something similar..... maybe I'll try it this weekend..... dill sauce with butter, lemon, cream and white wine ...... *mind whirling now*

  14. AV, you are quite creative, making your own Porters Pie! :)

    Posted 2 years ago by mollycat71 #

  15. I love inventing my own versions of receipes or dishes I read or hear about on TV...... I'll let you know how it turns out when I try it!.....my daughter and Hubbs are on an "anti-beef" kick, so I'm always trying to come up with new ways for chicken and fish....... me, I have to have my steak every now and then!

  16. Me too!!!

    Posted 2 years ago by mollycat71 #

  17. Since I don't do alcohol and it's still before five here, I'll have a cold, unsweetened mango tea. Our office manager treated the clerical staff to salad, soup, and breadsticks from Olive Garden for lunch today. That was so good!

  19. Olive Garden *wipes drool from chin* Oh, I so want to go there. Just finished a 'snack' and have errands on lunch today.... maybe Friday !!

  20. Love Olive Garden's soups, their salad too but their soup especially.

  21. I had the fish pie at Porter's and it was delicious!!

Posted 2 years ago by WillowandWindismom #

  22. WWM, I'm thinking onions, potatoes, carots and fresh parsley with the above sauce?...... potatoes being mashed and spread on top, then drizzeled with butter to make it brown nicely?? What do you think?

Posted 2 years ago by AV #

  23. That would sound very close to what it was like at Porters, AV. The potato topping was browned - it was yummy! All of the vegetables in the pie were very finely cut. I don't think that it had any dill, but that would certainly be good. It was more of a brown sauce. I think that I would be tempted to add a bit of dry sherry to the sauce.

  24. I'm tossing white wine around in my head, but sherry would be good too... I think I have some on hand (I usually keep a bottle of decent sherry for sauces)....

  25. I wanna go to Porter's NOW! Or Olive Garden!

.... here's a good laugh - my pregnant hummingbird!.... definitely not one of my best! LOL

  27. Hello again, all! I think I'd like a trip to Porter's, too. My strawberry banana yogurt in the fridge no longer sounds quite so appealing after reading about all the yummy things above!

At work again and it's - once again - absolutely poring outside! At least I got my match in this morning before the rain started. I'm hopefully playing again tomorrow morning and Friday. XBF is opening up an office with a business partner in a nearby town and has been too busy to hit with me the last few weeks :(

Posted 2 years ago by GreatDane #

  28. Hi GD! Can't believe it's still raining over your way!.... we've had nice weather today (even tho they gave us a 50% chance this afternoon!).... hope you get to play tomorrow.....

... wonders if they make "fish pie" yogart.... yuck! LOL

Posted 2 years ago by AV #

  29. AV, I think it is absolutely excellent and DOES NOT look preggers! GD, let's meet at Porter's with PM tomorrow!

    Posted 2 years ago by mollycat71 #

  30. LOL MC!.... that was my response when my teacher asked "why is it so fat?"
