  1. My beautiful boy kitten has left this earth recently...Some of you may remember Rocky as the little kitten who looked like a baby Lynx Point Siamese...He got into our room the other day, we had shut the doors, but they are folding doors and didn't realize he could paw his way in....He must of crawled into bed with us....We woke up, and he had passed....He either got tangled in the blankets, or something else worse happened, but my husband and I are devastated....We loved Rocky with all our hearts...I can't help but to blame myself...

    Someone told me it would make us feel better to get another kitten....I did so....She is a little girl named Lilith...Or Lily for short....I believe she is helping the grieving process....Any thoughts on this? My husband says he feels like a traitor...We miss Rocky so much!

  6. I'm so sorry TAL. My Mr. Bug will meet Rocky at Rainbow Bridge and show him all around. They can play in the catnip fields and catch fish in the stream.

    RIP Rocky!

  8. TAL...sorry for your loss. Tell your hubby that he is not a traitor. Our fluffy friends that have passed expect us to find another to love.

  9. Twiz, I am so sorry about your Rocky! Please accept my prayers and deepest sympathy! How sad, but please take peace in knowing he is an Angel now romping with our kits who have gone before us! Please don't you and your hubby beat yourselves up over your loss. God was ready for another Angel and he picked your Rocky. I know how bad it hurts, we all do. Praying your new baby will grow into your hearts and ease your pain! ((TWIZ))

  12. Rocky was two months old, honey, and I doubt that he died by accident. Often with seemingly healthy kittens that age, something neurological happens (seizures or other problems that take a while to emerge) and the kitten passes away. These things happen, and they are very sad, and getting another kitten is wonderful therapy and good for all parties.

    Don't blame yourself. Mourn for Rocky, love Lilith, and know we love you.

  13. TAL, I am so sorry about Rocky. That is just so sad. At least he was loved and loved in return. I don't think you are a traitor to Rocky's memory at all. You just gave a kitten that needed a good home, a good home and you can shower her with love. We all need help in grieving and if Lily can help you that's wonderful. ((TAL))

  14. TAL, I'm sorry to hear about your baby. If it's any comfort, I bet he and my Chica are having a blast up by the Rainbow Bridge right now.

  15. I'm so sorry TW. Please try not to blame yourself. Sweet Rocky was with you for just a short time for an important reason, which we may never know. You may have saved Lilith from an uncertain future. I was quite upset at losing Smokie at a young age, but if it wasn't for her passing, we would have never known Jiggs and Shaddo. I understand now what I didn't understand then. It was her legacy.
    {{{TWIZ}}} Please accept my condolences.

  16. I am so sorry {{{{{{{TAL and hubby}}}}}}}}. It's hard to lose any pet, but a baby is especially hard.

    Kittens are pretty flexible and if he was just tangled up he probably would have woken you up and/or wormed his way out. It's much more likely that he knew he was going to the Bridge and wanted to spend his last bit of time with you.

    It's quite possible that the mama cat knew he wasn't going to be here long and that's why you found him all by himself.

    I've always believed that if my heart has room for another baby, it's because the cat whose gone has moved over to make that room. Don't feel like a traitor, think of it as passing Rocky's legacy to another kitten who might never have known love without you.

  17. I agree with Emma & CBM--Rocky just passed in his sleep, he didn't smother or anything like that. Cats can sense death is coming for them, that's why they hide just before, hoping death won't be able to find them. You are not a traitor by getting another kitten, you are saving another life. Rocky will always be in your heart until you one day are reunited with him on the other side. {{{HUGS}}}

  18. I am so sorry. A friend of mine told me once when I had lost a young kitten that I loved dearly "cats and kittens friendships with us is short, some are shorter than others but are no less loved". Lily will put a big kitten stamp on your hearts and will help you heal. You are not traitors but a loving couple that has plenty of love for another kitten in your lives.

  19. Rocky would be so proud of you finding another kitten who needs your love. He knows that you both loved him so much and that's why he was so close to you at the end.

  20. Rocky had to 'leave' so you could adopt Lilith :)

    Posted 2 years ago by katthays #

  21. You cannot contain or measure love. Love is infinite, eternal, expansive - a grace and a gift from God. It is something we do, and our ability to love defines us.

    Please give Lilith a hug and a kiss from all of us. And one to your husband, too.

  22. TAL, I am so sorry to learn of little Rocky's passing. Everyone has said all that I could say, so I just send my heartfelt sympathy to you and your husband. I know that baby Lilith will bring you much love and comfort.

  24. I have also heard that our kittties are only on loan to us, and their time with us is never long enough...

    Posted 2 years ago by CSBM #

  25. Thank you everyone....It helps to know that maybe it was just natural causes...

    Posted 2 years ago by TwiztidAnimalLover #

  26. TAL - So sorry about Rocky! I suspect it was natural causes... and that he knew "something" was weong, and wnated to be near Mom and Dad when "it" happened. I know from sleeping with small kittens that if he was trapped somehow, he would have made his discomfort/entrapment known in NO UNCERTAIN TERMS. Neither you nor hubby are at fault, and I suspect you found Lilith so quickly because Rocky wanted you to! {{{TAL, hubby and Lilith}}}

  27. BTW...I added pictures of Lilith to Catster...

  28. So sorry to hear about your beloved Rocky. As others have said, our furrbabies are with us only short time, however long it may actually be. They look down on us and send us another soul in need of love, secure in the knowledge that they are helping one another to use up the leftover love they no longer need.

  29. I'm so sorry about Rocky :( I can see from his pictures how much his humans loved him, and he had to know that. Bless you for choosing to help another cat who needed you.

  30. So very sad to read about your baby Rocky. I truly believe that you have found the best way to honor him: to love another. Hugs
