WWM--I think it would be a heck of a lot easier if CM could just 'change our bottoms', don't you? ;)

Soxsmom, who knows what the problems are with Lynn's feet/ankles swelling, the doctors sure can't find it. Since we were struck by lightning, we both have really strange things that go on which when we go to the doctors about anything they have no clue what has caused it.

Good morning friends. Just dropped off the boys, 5 more days of school...YAY

Deb, what? Struck by lightning? Good grief, I guess we should be extra, extra grateful we have you around. Yikes.
WWM, I think I need a gym buddy, or I need to spend the money for a trainer, something to make my get myself out of bed at 5 instead of 6 so I have time to go to the gym.
Kilroy, lol, it was in Aug '06 and the least I can say is it was a shocking experience.

Hi Kilroy....from what I recall, I don't think you need to go to the gym. Some of you ladies are genetically superior I guess.
Yes Kat, it does get later every year. I don't know about your granddaughter, but my boys go back before Labor day.

Only 1 day left for our district--although the teachers have to go on Saturday. All of the other districts around here aren't out until the end of next week. So, next week will be the perfect week to get any shopping done!

Kilroy, it has taken awhile let me tell you.
Katthays, if it doesn't kill you, it can surely bring on strange symptoms and things you normally did/felt before can be changed. I have always had sinus problems but at least could smell things, still have the sinus issues but can't smell things now about 90% of the time. HAs to be really a strong smell for me to catch it now.

The kids here in AZ, well at least Tucson area go back the beginning of August I believe.

And I thought I HAD PROBLEMS! Wow AZ, you are lucky to be alive!

That's terrible Deb. We go back , I think , the last week in August. But , right now, I am looking forward to the lazy days of summer.

MC, saw your photo in the other post. You look fantastic!!

Thanks TL!

They finally passed a law in Texas to where the kids can't go back to school until the 3rd or 4th week of August. Thank goodness, because each year we were going back earlier and earlier. Two years ago, we went back on Aug. 4!!!
Businesses like Six Flags were complaining because it took away money from them and teens/parents complained because they couldn't make enough money during the summer.

I hope you are feeling as well as you look MC.
That is interesting FH

Thanks for the compliment, TL. I probably wouldn't go to the gym if it weren't for hubby; he goes to the gym or plays tennis every single day, no matter what (must be nice to be retired), and I see how much good it does for him. Plus, the man can eat *anything*, and it's mostly because he works it all off :)
Right now I'm trying to get my "Michelle Obama" arms back; I had really nice, sculpted arms at one point, and they've gotten a little out of shape. Hence the weights.
So, do your boys have any exciting plans for the summer, TL? Any more travel?
No more big travel plans , maybe some local or weekend getaways. My husband knew that he had a really busy summer work schedule ahead, so that is why our big yearly trip was in the spring. My oldest is doing a theater program for a few weeks and hopefully catching up a bit on clarinet and piano. My youngest is doing a one week computer camp and continuing fencing classes (he started this spring and really likes it). Mostly though, our summer is unplanned, which is exactly how I like it.
How about you guys, any more travel?

Hi all, just popping my head round the door before taking Mum back - we've been out and about this afternoon, finally road testing the wheelie walker I bought her some time back - she's really good with it, much more stable, and moving a lot more easily. Back in about 20!

Hi, everyone!! I haven't been on much this week - things are changing too fast for me. One day Richard has so much work lined up that he is worried about getting it done in a timely manner, the next day people call to reschedule to later in the summer and he sits home driving me crazy! He hasn't worked since last Wednesday, partly because of the holiday weekend and partly because of the scheduling changes. He is bidding a job right now and got a call this morning from a repeat customer to stain her fence and possibly a neighbor's as well, thanks to their HOA ordering it to be done because they don't like the looks of them. HOA's can be our friends but I am glad we live in a neighborhood where the HOA can't order that just because they don't like the looks of something. We have one friend whose house we painted 2 years ago with HOA approved colors, only to have the new board decide the next year that the colors weren't what they wanted in the neighborhood - and they were good colors - so she had to have us paint it again just one year later. Richard tried to do it as cheaply as he could for her, but still.

Hi Karen.
Have a wonderful day everyone, off to run some errands.

Well off I go, they gave Lynn Percocet even though she clearly had on an allergy bracelet and its all over her medical records. Yesterday they had put her on some antibiotics and she took the Percocet last night while in a daze and has been itching her skin off. So I am going to either go to the hospitcal and pick up something else from them for her hopefully. Why do they have you wear bracelets when admitted into the ER if they aren't going to abide by them???????

That would be horrible, KC! I've been looking at condos and some of the HOA dues are sooooooo expensive! Plus, like you said, they can come back and tell you that you MUST do certain things and you can end up being stuck! The condo that I'm interested in has a $200.00 a month fee for dues--ridiculous!

Hi MCW! Bye MCW!
TL, right now the only travel plans are hubby's; he's going to Ecuador for a week in July. His best friend's son is doing anthropology field work there for his Ph.D, so they're going to visit him. I'm not going, which is OK with me. Other than that, I have so much trouble getting time off from work, we really can't say if we're going anywhere else this summer. I'm looking forward to MCW's visit in Sept. though!
Hey guys - sorry to change the subject, but could I perhaps have some TDK white light and a hug or two? I have to give a deposition tomorrow and I'm nervous. I freeze up when I'm nervous and can't eat. I hope I get thru it without tossing my cookies; that happens when I'm nervous too. I do not recommend this as a way to lose weight. Figures, I brought leftovers from a place hubby and I went to last night; half a grilled cheese sandwich with FOUR kinds of cheese! At least cheese is my ultimate comfort food so hopefully it will help. Thanks.
