  1. I thought I had put it high enough to where she couldn't reach it but I was wrong! She licked it and now I'm worried....

  2. From Frontline's Website

What if my pet licks his coat following application with FRONTLINE? FRONTLINE has very high safety profile in cats and dogs. However the alcohol base may cause some transient salivation if the application site is licked before the product has dried.

  3. How much did she lick? Rub the rest off for right now... and feed her some kmr - milky types of foods are good to counteract any toxins she may have picked up... She will probably be OK, but you may even want to give her a bath to get the rest off of her. Someone else may have addition insight - sorry I can't think of anything else... You may want to give a call to a vet or shelter and see if there is anything else you should do... Keep us posted! Stay calm.

  6. Keep her warm. She is a kitten and now that she is wet she will not be able to maintain her own body heat. Aim for inbetween the shoulder blades when applying--normally cats can not turn their head that far. Warmth is the big thing now. Prayers that she is fine.

  7. she licked a lot of it I hope it doesnt hurt her....I kept her warm until she was dry now she is playing with her favorite toy...She is infested with fleas....I dont know what to do!....She is only 8 weeks...the vet said frontline would be ok at 8 weeks

  8. It is fine if they don't lick it... and even then it is pretty safe. If she is playing normally, she probably will be fine. you can try using a flea comb and put the fleas in a bowl of hot soapy water. you can get a lot off that way. And then when you are ready to try frontline agin, do it one drop at a time, and make sure you get it right between the shourlder blades... It will be OK...

  9. Hi, TAL. Our little kitty critters give us a scare every once in a while, don't they. :)

One of our experienced TDKers suggests sprinkling diatomaceous earth (food grade) on ones floors to get rid of fleas. The fleas inhale it and it tears up their insides. It does not harm people or pets. It can be ordered fairly inexpensively online.

Lilith should be fine. Just keep a close eye on her.

  11. Lilith is doing good...besides the fleas of course :) We had to go to the store last night and get a flea comb because they were just all over her face....poor furbaby....but no reactions to the frontline...we are going to take her in to the vet today and have them put it on her....just to make sure it gets on there right! Thank you for asking HCM!

  13. Good plan - those littles jumpers (fleas) can be tricky to remove and kill... They do make a satisfying little crunch if you crush them, tho....hehehe

  14. aww poor kitty! she should be fine, licking the frontline is a hazard with any animal. i doubt they would make it so easy to lick if it would kill them instantly, right? might hurt her tummy though.

the vet didn't suggest the pill? i fostered some kittens a year or so ago & they were COVERED with fleas. the vet gave us a pill that killed them all within a day. they were about 7 weeks old. they say you aren't supposed to give meds until they are a bit bigger but in hawaii the fleas are full of disease, so maybe that is why the vet was so quick to hand it out early. even so, you should ask your vet about it, your kitty is big enough i'm pretty sure. our kittens were fine, didn't get sick from the medication or anything & the fleas went byebye :D (after we bombed the house & sprayed the carpets as well, which i definitely recommend. otherwise it's all a waste of time, at least for me)

good luck, i hope your flea problem doesn't last too much longer.
