  1. My partner's Dad and his girlfriend were on Crete for 3 weeks and just got back home to Germany and they didn't come home alone. They fell for this sweet little stray and couldn't leave her behind. I'm so excited they rescued her! Unfortunately cats and dogs are not treated very well there. Dad's gf said she found another litter of newborn kittens and when she went back to check on them the next day they were gone. She asked a store owner where they were and he said he threw them in the garbage!!! Makes me sick to my stomach. I know it's a completely different culture there and I try to keep that in mind but it's still SO sad.
Anyway, knowing stuff like that makes me just that much happier that they brought this little one home. The vet said she's probably a little over a year and may have already had a litter herself. They're trying to decide on the names Cutie, Peanut, or Millie. Partner's dad says Cutie just seems to come naturally when interacting with her. Despite being a stray they say she's SO affectionate and is always kneading on them. She's also very talkative and used the litterbox the first time they showed it to her. She sounds like such a sweetheart and I can't wait for them to send us pictures!

  2. YAY! I am so happy for your dad! He's a good man! I know that in other countries they are not so kind to the animals. I pray that all the animals are safe but I know they aren't. I hope the man that threw those kittens away gets haunted by them every night. It nauseates me! Please post some pix if and when you get them. I think I would pick Peanut but that's just me!

  3. Wonderful man to rescue her from a culture that doesn't appreciate her.

  4. It's wonderful the kitten was rescued. Sadly, throwing cats in the garbage happens here, too.

  5. How wonderful the kitt got rescued! It makes me want to PUKE when I hear how animals are abused or neglected...any kind of animal! I swear people think they have no feelings and can't feel pain, like they have no brains!!! Those that treat animals that way, should be be treated that way themselves...GRRRRR. Sorry for going off, this is a very sore topic for me! I can't wait to see pics!!!!! YEAH for Dad and girlfriend :)))

  6. So sad for the other kitts. I pray they were rescued also. How exciting to hear about an "international" rescue. I love hearing about cats all over the world.

  13. Mogley is really a cutie too! He sure has big paws! I love his pattern on his fur! I can see why you turn to mush everytime you look at him!

  14. She is gorgeous! Ah, she went home to Germany, I was wondering how she could go home without being quarantined.
