*sigh* I remember all of that! And just listening to that music makes me feel..... "glad all over"!
I think that was the end of the last innocent generation. Thanks, MCM - good memories for the most part. Could skip that Vietnam part, though.

Ohhhhh......I remember...My transister radio was light turquoise in color and even had a leather case to better protect it. I never left home without it!!!! "yes I'm glad all over"! SIGH!!!!!! =D I was 18yrs old and got married the weekend after woodstock...didn't go though.....it was too far from my home town!
LOL! Thanks Jimmie!!! =D
Wow! Do I ever. Have been sharing things with some college friends from that time. My friend Lindy is losing ground fast, but we've been sharing a lot of memories from that time. And it's great to hear her laugh, even around the pain and the fogginess. When I think of the mischief a bunch of college kids can get into, I'm horrified today we didn't end up in jail. WWM, for some reason, when I think of that time, the song "Down in the Boondocks" always brings back VN to me. I had good buddies there, some of whom didn't come back. Thanks, MCM, for posting that link. I'm sending it to Lindy.

ACK!!!!! Herman's Hermits!!!!!!!
I got married to the widow next door,
She's been married seven times before,
And every one was a Henry (Henry),
She wouldn't have a Willie or a Sam (no sam)
I'm her eighth old man, I'm Henry,
Henry the eighth I am

HaHaHa, MollyCat!!!! You missed a wonderful era!
Anyone remember the song, "Spooky"??? "Love is kinda crazy with a spooky little girl like you....." LOL, My hubs, then boyfriend, told me that was my song....still calls me Spooky at times.....or maybe was that song early 70's(???)
... also *glares* at MC!.....then starts singing
"Nights in white satin,
Never reaching the end,
Letters Ive written,
Never meaning to send.
Beauty Id always missed
With these eyes before,
Just what the truth is
I cant say anymore.
cause I love you,
Yes, I love you,
Oh, how, I love you.
*tears up* I love Nights in White Satin!!!
But how about a healthy dose of sap?
See the tree, how big it's grown
But friend it hasn't been too long
It wasn't big
I laughed at her and she got mad
The first day that she planted it, was just a twig
*warbles* Honey, I missssss youuuuuu
