  3. Hi MS and M2MC!.... just got back from a nice "family" night with Hubbs, and the two (now) high school grads... Son (21) and Daughter, who graduated today!..... just saw "Star Trek" the movie.... Wow!... talk about the '60s, that was such a great movie, especially if you watched the original series in the '60s (like I did)!... great old references and very true to characters!... I loved it!..... I actually giggled thru the whole show, cause I "got" most of the old inuendos... kids were kinda "lost" ..... Loved it! (oh feeling superior has been such a long time in coming!) LOL

  4. Just watched the show, What Not to Wear and they had Mayim Bialik on there (she played Blossem on a sit-com ages ago). Mayim was dressed like the hippie mom that she is now with her second child being only 8 months old, and they did actually a wonderful job with her makeover. They didn't do it all prissy or anything, comfy clothes, easy to do make up and an easy care haircut. Just surprised me on how no-frills she had become, so this show was a surprise.

  5. AV, thanks now I will go see the movie because I too watched the series from the beginning.

  6. Ohhhhhhhh, Star Trek, love it and our girls love it too. Airy and Jim-man saw it last week I think. I'll have to drag Mr MS to the cinema and hope he doesn't fall asleep. He loves Sci-Fi too.
Sorry I can't stay and chat but I'm off out for a while and then back to our roast pork with delicious crispy crackling and roast veges. Our family night for two. daughter Meegz has gone to the mountains to play in the snow with her BF,cousin and a friends child.
PS, Bones is played by a Kiwi actor.

  7. MS, enjoy the wonderful sounds roast pork and veges!! Family night for two works just fine I say. Hope that the cold up from Antarctica behaves and decides to take its coldest winds out to sea. And that KK starts to feel better with the kitty and staying in bed to keep warm.

Jcat, if I miss you, bundle up and keep warm with Jasper and Libby with the cold front moving in. How did the visit with the folks and Sam go?

  8. KW, even though I missed you, Tiny Tim always made me shudder but then again so does Howard Stern.

Posted 2 years ago by AZDEBRA 5/27 & crew #

  9. LOL!.... Deb, if you watched the original series, you should DEFINITELY go see the movie!.... they stayed very true to the characters and some of the "original" underlying jokes... I loved it!.... didn't know that Bones was played by a Kiwi!... he was one of the best in the movie!... very much like the original!.....and of course Lenord Nimoy came back for a "cameo" performance... looks like they "freeze dried" him, then thawed him out for this role, but he was great too!.... LOL

  10. ... and ya know, Tiny Tim and Howard Stern... hmmmmmm..... "Twin Sons with Different Mothers".... who gets that one!

Posted 2 years ago by AV #

  11. AV, love that 'Twin Sons with Different Mothers' I use it @ work when some of them get really dumb at times. May go see it next week, wanted to see Angels and Demons but think that will have to be on dvd when it comes out.

  12. Sitting here waiting for the morning parade to start on africam weblink, haven't seen it in awhile since they blocked it at work as its a streaming link. Used to say that they bussed in the animals, bring in the Zebras, Wildebeast, and Elephants now please!!

  14. Bed is calling... night all!

  15. Well gang, my brain is fried or the sinus meds are finally taking hold and I am about ready to fall asleep sitting here. If I wake up, will come back for the late, late Night Shift. If not, hope that everyone sleeps well, and wakes rested tomorrow morning, scritches to all our furry family members.

  16. It's 3.36 am AZ time, ...the night is chilly in NZ and cool to warm in USA with Old Man Winter on the out..... so time to close Night Shift and snuggle under the comforters, so here goes gratis Moonshadow, LV (old nick), & Tigger from the beginning....good job everyone & bless you...

    check - turns fountains off
check - sweep the floor (never know who has been tossing stuff around)
check - lights off and turns out neon "TDK Night-Shift" and "Poetry Jam" sign in window
check - night lights glowing gently, puts on cool jazz radio for ambiance and stragglers check - cat flaps swings creeeeeeeek (pulls out WD-40), check cat flaps again to ensure they swing quietly and effortlessly
check - doors closed, left just ajar so fuzzbutts don't come to us with complaints
check - dry kibble out as a midnight snack (so hopefully no 5 am breakfast wake-up call) and freshens litter-box. Puts away assorted fuzzy, squeaky cat-toys into Toy-Box

check - windows slightly open for Northern TDKers' spring and closed for Southern TDKers' autumn.

Goodnight to all our imaginary friends in TDK land, Goodnight Airy and Jim-man. White light, healing energy and prayer for all those in need. Be careful out there!

  17. Helllllllllllllllooooooooooo, checking on the back posts while eating pretzels.

    Posted 2 years ago by Moonshadow_NZ #

  18. Hulloooooooooooooooo back at you, MS, don't let WWM catch you eating pretzels, bet they're covered in shhhhhhh, salt.......

Posted 2 years ago by jcat #

  19. Shhhhhhhhhhhhh, WWM isn't on at this time of night and hopefully she won't read it either.
    How's the weather there tonight?

    Posted 2 years ago by Moonshadow_NZ #

  20. It's completely and utterly freezing, MS. Got that real nip in the air, even indoors. Wellington was okay but as soon as I came over the Rimutakas about 4pm, it was complete low-cloud white-out -- you couldn't see a car length in front of you -- and I actually thought snow had already started falling on the summit.

And the temperature's been falling ever since, I reckon. Has it started up your end yet?

Posted 2 years ago by jcat #

  21. No it's still around 9C outside, we've had rain this afternoon but that has stopped too. I believe it's supposed to get here tomorrow afternoon. Meegz and friends have gone down to the mountain to play in the snow, I just hope they don't get stuck there in it. Have a good load of firewood inside.

    Posted 2 years ago by Moonshadow_NZ #

  22. Morning jcat!!

Salt on pretzels sounds good, sorry WWM!

Posted 2 years ago by AZDEBRA 5/27 & crew #

  23. Morning, Deb, how are you today?

I have a little Velcro Libby on my knee since I got back, it's rather nice :)

Posted 2 years ago by jcat #

  24. I have a wet Shadz bathing and doing feline yoga in front of the fire. She asked to go out earlier so we figured the rain would stop soon. She was out there waiting for the rain to stop and the mice to come out feeding. We can tell a lot about the weather by her actions.

    Posted 2 years ago by Moonshadow_NZ #

  25. jcat, awww velcro Libby sounds nice :) Doing so far, have had the week off and didn't accomplish anything much except partial cleaning out of closets and dealing with a sinus infection...oh well the best laid plans.

Posted 2 years ago by AZDEBRA 5/27 & crew #

  26. Dang rain hindering her hunting, poor baby.

Posted 2 years ago by AZDEBRA 5/27 & crew #

  27. Feline yoga, tee hee. Did she catch any? Poor things... I hate it when I've got mice inside yet I hate it when the cats catch them too...

Deb, sounds like you're making progress on the closets, at least. Sinus infections can be horrible, hope it clears up soon.

Posted 2 years ago by jcat #

  28. Deb, do you know anything about ticks? We don't have them here in NZ so I couldn't help the poster on the Kittens with ticks thread, just suggest she keeps checking back.

Posted 2 years ago by jcat #

  29. Jcat, only that I hate ticks, they can be killers for babies that young because they drain everything from them...just like fleas can. The poster may just have to wait for the parent agency opens so they can call about the ticks around the eyes, poor baby.

Wish I had gotten further with the closets though :( Its just a killer with even lifting or moving my head, then all the pressure goes straight to the middle of my face, sigh. Lynn was going to help but she got sick with the flu and hurt her foot/ankle, so that was a bust. Tonight I go back to work, oh well it will get done eventually.

    How was your visit home?

Posted 2 years ago by AZDEBRA 5/27 & crew #

  30. It was good, thanks, Deb. My parents are very anxious about Sam, who is a sad and subdued little boy at the moment, but I think it is just a matter of keeping him as comfortable as possible while he recovers and the vet is keeping a very close eye on him. They were taking him back today for a check after I left, so I must ring them first thing tomorrow.

I had a very nice dinner out with my mates in Wellington City in a nice cafe/bistro I hadn't been to before but it wasn't a patch on my favourite restaurant here in the Wairarapa (but then I'm biased....)
