  1. Good afternoon one and all.

I didn't actually manage to get back to the computer yesterday, sorry about that.

It's a glorious day again today. Lovely and warm, sunshine, clear blue sky - it does exist in England despite what you may have heard. Perhaps this is summer. (It won't last longer than 3 or 4 days, so we have to make the most of it!)

  2. Hi PM! (waves toward the UK!) Sounds lovely, wish it were nice here. Its raining and it is supposed to really storm later.

  3. *waves to PM*
When I was in London in 2005, we had the best week of sun. It was in April too!! We had one day of rain and that was it.

  4. I'm back, having vanquished the Saturday puzzle and enjoyed a yummy cheese/peppers/mushroom/onion omelet and homefries - good thing I went to the gym this morning!

Hi PM! It's nice here today as well but is supposed to thunder and rain tomorrow.

GD, stay away from that muscle milk stuff, ewwww!

  5. How is George today?

  6. He's good, MC. Right now he's zonked out asleep under the coffee table. He's so cute when he's sleeping I can hardly stand it. His beautiful striped tail is curled right up over his nose (awwww).

  7. We had orangies when I grew up and I just love them. I really hope one day to have another. Not that I want anything to EVER happen to Betty and Wilma because they are going to live forever!

  8. Arg..... we have been out doing yard work. What a mess! The birds are fun to watch but they really are so messy. And the turtles kept getting underfoot thinking that I had brought their melon.

I'll bet the hot crunchy things were wasabi peas. That wasabi is the best sinus medicine ever!

Off to take a shower, I think.

  9. I'm watching rugby league on tv at the moment. It's not as gripping as rugby union but it's still good fun.

  10. WWM, what you didn't bring the turtles their melon so they could enjoy it while you were cleaning up?

  11. Poor turtles. For shame WWM!

  12. MC, I love orangies myself, after adopting Max (flame point siamese) I have had 3 orangies either adopt me or literally walk into the house saying I am home here so feed me. Love all of them though, with a special place for grey tabbies like my Kinker (RIP).

  13. I love that you feed the turtles melon. Who would have thought turtles like melon?

  14. Just a note about wasabi:

At our local Chinese restaurant, they serve a wonderful buffet that is 90% Chinese and 10% other. On the salad bar, next to the sushi and the fresh crab salad was a large bowl of green stuff.

    I thought it was guacamole.

    It wasn't guacamole.

When I got back to my table, I popped a bit of it on a slice of melon and the whole combo went into my mouth.

My luncheon companion said afterward that she had never heard anything living make a high whistling sound quite like I did.

Three waiters and as many carafes of water later, I was just fine.

    Sort of.

    Maybe.

    It was wasabi.

  15. LOL, Emma!!!!

Oh, I did break down and the turtles all had their melon. I actually think that they like it better than the strawberries. If you can imagine a herd of turtles chasing me, that's what it was like. Spoiled things!

  16. .... plops down in a big comfy chair.... whew!... moved MIL's entire house today, that is what she'll be using in her new condo. Lots of stuff left for garage sales!..... back breaking work, glad I wore my brace..... so tired I can hardly move... headed to the leather chair and zone out for a while!...
... waves to everyone!.... will check in later....

.... I love wasabi peas! be they are a tad spicy!...

  17. Sorry to hear your back is hurting AV. That is horrid pain. Zone out and relax!

  18. Everyone needs to take it easy today! MC's rules!

    Posted 2 years ago by mollycat71 #

  19. Emma was just catching up on the thread and laughed until I had tears--Sherlock is howling--apparently your story and my laughter has made him go off the deep end! That is funny--although probably not at the time!

  20. WWM have barn swallows that are nesting on the top of my motion sensor in the front--they are making a mess! I love the fact they eat the millers and I love watching the babies. I hope I can live through the clean up!

Posted 2 years ago by SoxsMom #

  21. I hope you can outrun the turtles WWM. I have a dilemma, here. About a week ago I brought in my nice clean laundrey from the line outside in a basket. Molly immediately jumped in. I covered it with a towel to hopefully protect it--since she tends to sick up a lot and not on my laundrey please. Anyway since then one or both girls have been curled up on it==There have even been some spats over laundrey rights. Now how am I going to get my laundrey back? Or do I go naked?

Posted 2 years ago by Cat talk rules #

  22. Gonna have to go naked!! My girls do the exact same thing! I actually ended up getting them some old rags and towels and piled them in a laundry basket so they had their own "laundry" to sleep on! That way I got my clothes back!

    Posted 2 years ago by mollycat71 #

  23. Thank you, MC. Thats what I'll have to do. My place of employment does frown on people coming in naked. LOL

Posted 2 years ago by Cat talk rules #

  24. Sorry CTR, once you let them have the laundry you will have to fight them for it. When I used to take towels out of the dryer and put them in the basket, it was an immediate Jerrie magnet. If I didn't fold them and put them away he would always find some way to get in there!

Those things are wasabi peas? At least now I know what they look like and can avoid them. I like a tiny bit of wasabi with sushi, but... poor Emma!

Forgot to add: when I left this morning there was a beautiful orangie outside my door - he didn't stick around but I hope he comes back. I've never had an orangie around here before. He may belong to a neighbor and I just never saw him. We seem to have a few new cats hanging around lately.

Posted 2 years ago by NNGM #

  25. I have a Betty twin hanging around out in the bushes! He is definitely a he but is the same blue gray color as Betty and has her cute face! He goes and runs away when I try to go near him. He eats the dry crunchies I put out on the porch for him!

    Posted 2 years ago by mollycat71 #

  26. I've never had them claim a laundrey basket quite so forcefully before. My neighbors orangie would like to adopt me but he doesn't care for the dog. I haven't encouraged him to come in because I don't know how my girls would react although they have to know hes out there.

  27. Since daughter will be in England on Father's Day, she took him to the movies. They are watching Terminator. Not her favorite, but her Dad loves them. Her old boyfriend--seems like eons ago when they dated came over to ask her to go bowling with a group of friends tonight at the base. She was looking back and forth from me to him---she wants to go but her Dad leaves Monday and she leaves in 12 days. I told her to go. Will see when she gets home.

  28. *sends CTR instructions for weaving a skirt and top out of grass clippings*

AV, what you need is a nice glass of chardonnay and some brie on crackers with just a smear of fig jam!

Posted 2 years ago by WillowandWindismom #

  29. SM, you are such a good mom!

    Posted 2 years ago by mollycat71 #

  30. WWM if that like Hawaiian Day? Should she get coconuts too?
