I just received a call from Terri's husband John. Terri passed away this evening. He thinks it was a stroke or seizure, but he's not sure. He is in shock and totally lost. He is going to find out more info from the hospital and let me know. All I know as of now is this:
She came home from work and beeped her horn, John came out and she told him that she couldn't breathe and needed to go to the ER. He said okay, went back inside to get a shirt and when he walked out she was on the ground. He immediately called 911.
I just talked to her on the phone last night and she sounded fine except for her knee hurting her. I am sorry I don't know what to say. I am distraught and crying as I type. She was a wonderful friend who always, always called me, thought of the girls, sent gifts to the girls, she will be so missed. My friend is gone and I think a little light went out of this world. She is at the rainbow bridge tonight with the babies.

John is alone right now, he doesn't have anyone to help him through this. His friend from the ER is coming over to talk to him and help him out a bit.

John called us tonight too. He is in great shock. We are praying for him too. I had no idea she was so ill. She was always so upbeat. I just talked with her this past Monday. I am going to light a candle.

This is terrible. I have been concerned because I hadn't seen her posting much but know how busy we all can get sometimes. John, I'm so sorry. She was such a giving generous person--always wanting to help when someone had trouble or to help a kitty have a home. Maybe thats why Andy went on ahead so he'd be there to welcome her. I am in shock.

Terri and John always..and I mean always sent the girls little gifts..Terri would call me all excited about what they sent and it was so cute. They were the girls unofficial godparents, she had the girls pictures up at work and showed them off to everyone. She called me 2x a week without fail. She was a kind, loving person who organized my baby shower for Abbie. I miss her so much already. I don't want to go to bed, but I have to. I feel like if I stay up, it won't be true or I won't have to think about it. My heart is breaking so much for John as well.

I am totally stunned. I met Terri last year at that TDK get-together. She had problems with her legs and cellulitis, but did not seem at all ill to the point of this happening. I spoke to her on the phone when she called at this year's Florida meet. How I wish she had been able to get the day off and join us then like she wanted. :-( So sad!

I never got to know her very well because I was never on much at the same time as she was but I admired her a lot and wished I could get to know her. I feel such a loss I can't even imagine how you who knew her well must feel. I lit a candle, too, The kitties should be a comfort to John.

My friends, I am hanging on to TDK right now like a lifeline, but I must stop. I must go to bed since I know Maddie and Abbie will be waking up sooner than later. I will check back in the morning.

CM, please let us know what the hospital says happened. It just goes to show, you never know when your last day is. My mother-in-law passed in a similar way; had a normal day at work, dropped by to see her daughter who wasn't home, went and picked up some things from the food store and had started putting them away when it happened. They found her sitting upright in the kitchen chair in the morning. The milk and other food was still on the counter. I have often thought of that, how she went to work that day and went about her normal business and had no idea that her last day was ticking by. I don't know if that is better or worse than knowing in advance?
