Hi IBM (you'll have noticed we tend to abbreviate names here - and IBM is a great set of initials!!) - welcome to TDK Chat. Who's that in your avator? Gorgeous cat! Many of us have created catster pages to show off our moggies, click on my avator (that's Button) to see my little crew. Look forward to chatting with you, the Cafe & Nightshift threads tend to be the daily general chat places.

Hi IBM! You are so lucky you stumbled across this site. I did the same thing myself and have been a very happy litter mate since the first of the year. There are many lovely people here and they will welcome you with open paws! This is a very difficult day for us all having lost a founding littermate. You will find that the weekends are quite slow but things really hop around here during the week. I am owned by Molly, Betty and Wilma. That's Betty you see right now in my avatar! Welcome!

Hello MC! Thanks again for the warm welcome. To the right is Ichabod....my one and only furbaby. He is the sunshine in my day. The amount of joy he brings to my family is immense. I can't wait to share my stories and hear other people's tales as well.

Welcome to TDK, IBM. I'm in Texas and am owned by two little black sisters. They were feral but decided that we looked okay and they would live with us. They have since elected themselves as Queens of the Known Universe.

Ichabod is a beauty! I am the staff to 3 spoiled rotten indoor cats(check out my Avitar it will take you to Chucky's (Yes like the killer doll) page and the links to the girls are also there), and one that has decided she likes living here outside, Her name is Azalea(There's a story behind that(punn intended) She will not let anyone touch her but she lives under my shed or in the garage. We are hoping to win her over but she's to affraid of us humans and runs as soon as she see's one of us! But she's ours we feed her and make sure she is some what safe! I am aslo owned by a jack Russel "Lady Dog" trust me you will hear stories of all of them!
I'm rambling!

Hi GD! I live in Saginaw, Michigan. Ichabod is my one and only kitty. He is in the avatar. He just turned one earlier this month. He joined our family last July, when my oldest daughter found him hiding under my car in a thunderstorm. He was about 10-12 weeks old...and was wet, tired and dirty. We brought him in and it was pretty much love at first sight!
His arrival into our home caused some strife in my neighborhood and I have gained some enemies. When we brought sweet Ichabod in, we figured he likely belonged to someone, as he was so small and he appeared socialized. A neighborhood kid saw Ichabod in the window a few days later and told us he was their cat. His mom came down to the house and confirmed this. We were sad to see him leave, but I was happy he was back with his owners.
About two weeks later (during another thunderstorm) little Ichabod was outside my window meowing frantically. We brought him in. He was super dirty, skinny and very hungry. I was livid. I can understand having a kitten escape once, but two times? This was unexcusable. So, we brought Ichabod back in and took super good care him. We had him for about a week. We came home one evening and he was missing. I was devestated! We could not figure out how this cat could have gotten out of our house. We were completely in shock and confused.
Approximately a week after Ichabod went missing one of the neighborhood kids started a conversation with me. She was talking about the kitty and how she had seen him in my window. She then told me she had come to my front door to see if my youngest daughter was home, and somehow it just opened and the cat ran out. She said she then took Ichabod and returned him to his original owners. I was in shock! To sum up a rather long story, Ichabod ended up finding his way back to our house once again. His original owners never paid much attention to whether or not he was in or out of their house. They have two dogs they treat the same way. I have almost hit them with my car on more than one occasion. I have made complaints with Animal Control, but not much has changed.
The good news however, is that Ichabod is now safe, loved and completely spoiled. He is a wonderful addition to our family and I am soooooo glad he is apart of our lives.

IBM, you hold on tight to little Ichabod! He sounds like he knew exactly where his home was, with YOU! That is terrible the way his first family treated him. I am so glad you have taken him in and caring for him the way you have. I can see why you fell in love with him, he is adorable!

ICM, Welcome to TDK. These are some of the most wonderful people on the face of the earth! Hooray to you for taking the sweet kitty. My point of view is that if it "escaped" more than once then it is not being properly cared for. Now you have a wonderful new member of the family. As for me, I am in Texas and have 2 kitties. Wilbur and T-Do. Wilbur is a "kidney kitty" and has had some serious medical issues. Thankfully he is doing fantastic due to the wonderful care of the Texas A&M University School of Veterinary Medicine. They saved his life. I have a semi feral outside kitty named Ms. Kitty (she has a almost 4 week old kit). The new kitten will be mine as soon as it is weaned. I am very excited. My daughter Abbey is also on TDK. Her name is Black and White Kitty Mama and (drumroll) she is going to have a little baby in January. I didn't mean to ramble on. Again, welcome. We can hardly wait to hear about your Icabod!

Question? How do you get your pic to go to your Catster link?

Welcome IBM--I'm a fellow Michigander, from Monroe. We have a great family here, you'll enjoy being with us. I'm owned by two furbabies, Max (10 year old Tabby) and Cali (2 year old calico). I had Max's sister, Molly, until last January when she went to the Rainbow Bridge. We still miss her.
We are going to have some get-togethers soon, so we can meet those we "talk" to every day. Hope you can join us. Keep the first week of September open--there will be a "meetup" in Cleveland and Chicago (closest ones to us).
Again, glad you're here and give Ichabod a hug from me and Max and Cali.

Oh, to answer your question about linking to Catster--go to your profile here, go to edit and put your Catster address where it asks for website and you're all set!

Welcome, IBM!!! I was born in Jackson, Mich. (I have no idea how far that is from Saginaw) but have lived in the Ft. Worth, TX area for most of my life. I am owned by Bailey (the tortie in my avatar), Bosley (a huge orange and white dufus), and a shih-tzu, Rowdy. I'm so happy that Ichabod became your family member---it always angers me when people have pets and they don't treat them with the love and respect they deserve. I'm a middle school math teacher and my summer break OFFICIALLY starts tomorrow morning---yippeeee!!!! More TDK time! Welcome aboard!
