Rain today here in SW Michigan. I have a bit of a headache, probably weather change related. My dad turns 82 tomorrow, I am treating him to lunch today. I turned him on to a local oriental buffet with mongolian bbq, and he really likes it. He wondered "How do you barbeque Mongolians?" so I had to explain what that was (lolol). They also serve maki rolls, and very rarely, raw sushi. I'm still trying to encourage him to try a non-raw piece. So far...no go.
Worked in my garden. Discovered a bunny in the neighborhood, so we have a chickenwire fence around the lettuce. Mr. Buns decided he would then nibble the leaves off my broccoli and brussels sprouts, so we sprinkled some cayenne pepper around the bases of those plants. Hopefully Mr. Buns will lick his feet and get a HOT SURPRISE and leave my cole crops alone. :-)

Yes we are all okay and are very grateful to God for that! we were at an intersection and the light turned green for us and a car was running the red light swarved to change lanes because he was speeding. We were still stopped and saw then come head on....and hit us.. their air bags deployed....they have no insurance, spoke no english ( or so they said ) and were DRUNK...my van that is a yr old had to be towed...so now we are having to deal with insurance... the driver was aressted... we must have had a special angel looking out for us.....

Good morning, Everyone. Back from the gym and just trying to cool down a bit. Today is housework day, which seems so stupid and trivial in light of all that is going on, and has happened, here. But my book group is coming tomorrow and I don't want them to see dust, cat hair and "stuff" laying around. I'm really hoping that I can shepard them out to the patio for our meeting. You sort of expect dust out there. And I have to bake because they expect food. I am SO not a baker. :-(
OP, how frightening! I have learned here never to venture into an intersection without really scanning for people who plan to blow through the red light. And here, that's a whole bunch of people (Lots of whom don't speak English and insurance? Forget about it.)
I am so worried about SM and fearful that she thinks we all forgot or don't care about her surgery. Of course I knew about the surgery, but I guess I did forget what day :-( I thought that it was to be later. And I have no idea what hospital she is in. If she is in Lubbock, I could run up there tomorrow afternoon. But I have no clue. What a bad friend I am!

I don't know, MC. If she did it isn't me *sob* She said that she wanted to do this while her husband and daughter are out of town because she doesn't like people "hovering". I don't mind hovering.....

I am worried about SM too! I hope she is okay. I hope she doesn't think we don't care or abandoned her. That's the feeling I get from her posts. I wish we could find out where she is and be there.

WWM: For book club, cappucino brownies -- DH mix plus 1 teaspoon instant coffee. Shake confectioner's sugar over the lot. Also, make gingerbread (again from a mix) and top with warm marmalade or lemon curd. Lemon curd is actually the filling from a lemon meringue cake with lemon zest and pulp added. Serve with raspberry lemonade (regular lemonade with a handful of crushed raspberries).
Just a thought.

LOL, Emma - I bought a gingerbread mix! But I was going to do whipped cream. It never occurred to me to get lemon curd. That sounds wonderful! If I have time, I'll run to the store. I'm making lemon bars but they're from a mix, too. I plan to hide the box.

Opahall, sorry to hear about your accident. It is a blessing that no one was hurt seriously (except the van). I hope everything gets settled okay for you.
CM, you are a strong and gracious woman. You're entitled to have tears; that's why cats and children are a such a blessing. They understand your need for loving.
