Let's Not Forget We Lost Ben too...

(26 posts)
  1. Remember the young man Ben whose wife was a veterinarian? They had small children, she was pregnant, and he was killed in a car accident. I think it was after Chester. I was so sad for his wife. She logged on to tell us what happened and logged on a few times after that. I think her name was Christine. I remember her saying that the dog kept running to the door everytime a car drove up, then slinking away in disappointment when it turned out to be someone other than Ben. :-(

  2. I remember Ben, too. It was after Chester, because Chester was before I joined and Ben was after. And yes, the wife's name was Christine - wasn't she pregnant, too?

  3. Thank you, CW, for reminding us. I remember when they adopted the children from Russia and how excited he was when she got pregnant at almost the same time.

  8. We definitely need to talk to KM and see about setting up a Memorial Page. We have lost such wonderful people here and they were each so special in their own way. It's so little to do for such special friends.

  15. If it is OK with KM, I can include an "In Memoriam" album on the meetup website. Would that work, or do we want a stand along website for this?

  22. Does anyone have a way to contact Ben's wife? I think it would be special once the site was up to share it with her.

  24. I can remember the day Ben's wife informed us about Ben's death. Wasn't one of them a vet or vets' assistant. Yes, they had adopted 2 young children from Europe somewhere and they were expecting a baby very soon. Not long after Ben passed away Christine found several wee kitties who became family members and helped to ease the pain.
Wow, that made the old brain cells work as it was some time ago.

  25. Christine was the vet and yes they had a son whome she named Ben after her busband's untimely death, plus they had the 2 young children from Russia I believe. I have thought about her often but never got her email address, and hope that she and the children were doing well.
