  1. In September 2007 I joined the chat forum, but I'd been posting on TDK for some time before that date.

This is the best site on the internet. The people here have helped and supported each other, cheered each other onward, and been a comfort beyond all imagining. Prayers and laughter have stitched through the air here, and we've seen life and death, sorrow and resurrection, and the most deep and abiding grace possible.

    You make me believe.

I am so honored to know you, and to call you "friend."

    All my love,
    Emma

  3. I'm trying to remember how I first came to TDK. I think it was through some other website, maybe something like Cute Overload. It was before the Chat Room. It was right around the time when Jerry/Chester passed away, and some of the members were working to create a memorial for him at a shelter, and they were working to establish what became known as the TDK Fund (Terri was one of those members, sob...) I was really amazed that a group of people who only knew each other through the internet could come together and support each other like that. They genuinely cared about each other. I lurked for a bit but eventually started posting because I really wanted to get to know some of these wonderful people, even if only on the internet. TDK is like no other chat room.

  4. I came on over 2 years ago, maybe longer, I found it on Yahoo. There was a link in the upper left hand corner. Since then I have found many friends and have lost 5. I think the average age is around the late 40's to 50's. As we know, time does move on, and with that our friends may leave us, be they young or old. But what has kept us together as a family is our love for one another and our love of our beloved kittys. May it always stay that way.

  5. I have had more helpful and profound advice on this site than I can measure. You are a fabulous bunch of people and I love reading all the threads and feeling happy or sad with each TDKer as they describe their latest drama, concern, happy resolution or just their day! And it's so clear that it doesn't matter who is posting - every person's questions or comments are treated equally. TDK is a precious and inclusive community. Thank you all for all the responses and communications! Love, Helen

  6. Over 3 years ago my baby Sox came into my life. And so did TDK. I would look at the kitten pictures and read the posts. Then the unthinkable happened and Sox was diagnosed with feline leukimia and died. I went to my church and was crying--people thought I was nuts because it was just a cat. Actually he was a 9 month old kitten. I needed someone to understand. I posted. Huddy's Mama, Instinct, Chester, MerD, Catwrangler, Ivory Bill, Bumblebee, Sharon, Renee, and so many that I know I have forgotten to mention were there to help me through the pain. The tornado had also hit the week before, and the town was in shambles. In this community I was able to find some support to help keep me going in those dark days--and they were pretty bleak. I have seen some wonderful people leave here and my heart aches for them. Instinct and Intuition were very dear to me. Instinct sure could get my hackles up, but I was made to look at myself and Learn! What a great teacher. I wish they were still here and pray that someday they may return. There are more new friends as the years march on, and I am thankful for each and everyone. Thank you KM for giving this venue and building a community. Thank you TDK family.

  7. I had the Daily Kitten on my Yahoo page and always looked at the kitties. I loved to read the posts by others as well. Thought they were funny and cute. Then I saw the chat area..I avoided it since I have been on other chat sites and it was horrible. Then one day I thought oh what the heck..Chuck (CCM) immediately helped me with the catster page and where to hang out. So I started on the night shift and chatted a bit and then wandered over to the cafe. I was impressed by Terri's cafe food listing and her and GD seemed to be just so friendly...I started chatting and really liked talking to everyone and it was great. When I had a question, it was answered, when I was down, I was cheered up...Then I found out I was pregnant and oh my goodness...it was a TDK baby from the start. Terri and Julie(2B) called me and talked to me and I was just floored...didn't know how they got my number, but that's okay :) They were planning a baby shower!! I have made so many friends on this site. I hope to meet as many as I can. Many I will never meet but you are all precious to me. You all always have my prayers, my good thoughts and well wishes. The bigger the girls get the harder it is for me to post as I am busier, but I try to at least check in, send pictures, and say hi. But know I am with you in spirit!! I really enjoy, love and appreciate our TDK family!
