  1. I saw in the book discussion that grew up in Montana. Where abouts? I grew up in Drummond (40 miles east of Missoula).

  2. A little place called Columbia Falls. Up by Kalispell, near Glacier Park. I've been through Drummond a time or two. Also lived in Lolo for a brief period and in Billings for a few years...lol

  3. I know where Columbia Falls is been through there a few times. We used to camp at Hungry Horse for about a week every summer and pick huckleberries. I have family in Kalispell so I've been there. I'm going to a wedding in Billings next month.

  4. CTR, Kalispell is where I lived when I met Alicia, back in 1988.

  5. Cool, did you know any Robinsons? Loy, Dan, Marlin, Dick my uncle and my cousins.

  6. I knew Bruce Robinson, his (late) brother Terry was in the Montana Band. I used to work with Bruce.

  7. I don't think they are related. Robinson is a common name. It was a long shot that you might know someone I do but it would've been fun.

  8. With all the places KD lived in Montana and the people he has run into in the oddest places anything is possible...

I see you live in Missoula...there use to be a sub shop called Piccolo Pete's (I think) is that still around. You do have my hubby's favorite place to eat, Taco Treat...LOL I know, all that cheese.

The company I work for has a store in Missoula...Riddle's Jewelry...I work for the corporate office.

    Sorry, I rambled...

  9. The sub shop is not here anymore that I know of. Taco Treat is and I have heard of Riddles jewelry. Not rambling I'm interested not too many Montanians here just PaulaJeanne and I post on a regular basis. Where are some of the places KD lived in Montana. Have you ever been to Garnet? (ghost town)

  10. Oh, I forgot to mention that Huddy's mama lived in Montana in Great Falls I believe as a child.

  11. He lived in the Flathead (Kalispell and Whitefish), Missoula, Lolo, Bozeman (Belgrade, Livingston), Billings, Great Falls...I think that is it...some as a kid but much as and adult...oops, missed Helena

  12. He did get around. I've been to all those places some of them not since I was kid. Whitefish is nice but I think its been taken over by rich people.

  13. hasn't all of Montana...(Bozeman, Whitefish...) My middle brother taught school in Big Fork about 20 years ago...

  14. I never lived in Montana but.... my mom's maiden name was Bozeman and I have an aunt and uncle that live in Helena - but I'm pretty sure they aren't in our age groups. Someday hopefully soon Richard & I can visit that beautiful state.

  15. It is beautiful! Just tried coaxing DM to travel through Montana on her way to Boise! But I'm predjudiced I guess, love all the NW. And the SW. Never been to the NE and only a few times to SE. Texas, I've only been to El Paso. (Though I was concieved in Lubbock, does that count?)

  16. Yes, Alicia they have sent housing costs so high and wages are still on the low side. Its a real problem. People who work in Bozeman can't afford to live there. Missoula is going that way. Karen, I hope you will be able to visit here I bet your aunt and uncle would be thrilled to see you. PJ, how are you? I was so excited to find Alicia and KD have strong Montana ties.

  17. CTR, I don't know how long you've been in MSO, but I lived there twice... once in 1977, the other in 1988. I worked at 2 different radio stations there. In '77 I was at KYLT (when it was Top 40 hits), and in '88 at XT93 (now called Eagle93) when it was top 40 as well. I wasn't at XT very long, I think it was March through August of that year.

I had met Alicia earlier that year while in Kalispell at a radio station there.

  18. CTR - I know that my aunt and uncle would welcome us with open arms - but I probably won't see them again in this life - they are in their 80's and God bless them - they just made a trip out to N.C. and S.C. and Florida to see all of the brothers and sisters - my mom was one of 11 kids - figuring it would be the last time to see each other, my uncle is on oxygen and they had to drive since no oxygen on planes - I don't fly often so I'm not positive about that rule. I know with the loss of Richard's brother at the age of 60 (same day we lost Terri and because of a series of strokes & the damage they caused) I am pretty sure that Richard will want to start taking some of the trips we have been dreaming about for years, and Montana is one of the places here in the U.S. that we want to visit.

  19. Karen, My parents are in their eighties, too. I can't imagine them making that trip. WOW. I saw that Richard's brother died and I am sorry for the loss and being so far away makes it harder. KD, I was born in Missoula in 1950. I grew up in Drummond, lived in Tennessee for about ten years and moved back to Missoula in 1978. I put down roots and have lived here eversince. Eagle 93 is one of the stations that gets listened to at work. I'll admit I prefer the oldies station in my car.
