  1. I used to chew my hair too, CM, still don't understand why mothers object to that ;-)

  2. Morning all!......KK, you were scared Ringo was bring another flat mousie, weren't you!...hehehehehe.....

Pretty here this morning, but going up to almost 90, with 1000% humidity!.... can anyone say hair frazzel?

....lots of paperwork, but wanted to pop in and say hi!

  3. I chewed mine too, no calories. Mum told me that I would tie my tummy into knots with the hair and get sick, in an attempt to stop me chewing it. Can't remember if it worked or if that's why I had it cut short for most of my childhood.

  4. Morning, AV, 100% humidity, OMG, my hair wouldn't be the only thing that was frazzled... I like dry heat, myself... less sticky!

  5. Hi AV. re your wondering about butternut squash for the chicken/pumpkin recipe last night, I use buttercup squash but I'm sure butternut would work too.
Good grief! 1000% humidity! hair frazzle

  6. Hi AV!
Well at least I know hair chewing is coming..she looks like she is chewing cud..lol

  7. Tee hee. I can still see my best friend at school, usually sitting next to me in class, invariably twiddling her hair around her finger, while I chewed mine...

I just tried it again now for old times' sake, doesn't taste so good...

  8. Hi everybody!

Hmmm, hair chewing - yeuch! Hate the feeling of hair in my mouth!

Posted 2 years ago by MadcatwomanintheUK #

  9. I can't get mine around to my mouth and every time I twist my head the hair moves too! ! ! Guess it's too short and I'm not supposed to chew on it.

  10. Hi, MCW. I'm so sorry to read about Bones.

Posted 2 years ago by jcat #

  11. Hi MCW. How are you this afternoon?

Posted 2 years ago by cricketsmama #

  12. MORNING AV & MCW :)

Ewwww never did the hair chewing thing, maybe I just didn't think of it...who knows

  13. Thanks Jcat (I thanked you on the other thread too :o) ). Think I'll try and stop in at the vets on the way to Mum's, get his take on it. Mum values his opinion above all others, it was his advice that swayed her to let Bones move in with us when she was so ill a couple of years ago.

  14. MCW, ok what did I miss about Bones?

Posted 2 years ago by AZDEBRA 5/27 & crew #

  15. Oh MCW..I am so sorry about Bones. How sad.

  16. Hi CM - I'm not too bad thanks, Bones issues aside. I had some good news at the doctors this morning, my blood tests show perfectly normal hormone levels, so we can deduce the hot flushes I've been experiencing are due to the nerve pain in my neck (makes sense, as they've lessened since I've been on the neural pain blockers). So one less thing to worry about!

  17. Hi Azdeb, it's on the Mitzi thread. He's deteriorated quite abit in the last 48 hours, think it could be close to that time...

Posted 2 years ago by MadcatwomanintheUK #

  18. Yea!! That is good news MCW. :) We need a bit of it around here.
I hope all goes smoothly today. I know how hard this is for you and dealing with Mum as well.

  19. Good news from the doc, MCW, I'm all in favour of eliminating things to worry about...

  20. (((Bones)))......

.... my best friend in 1st grade always chewed the end of her braids.... her hair was real long, so her mom would braid it everyday to keep it neat.... funny how you remember things like that!.....

MS, I'm not sure what buttercup squash is, the butter nut kind here is similar to pumpkin in texture, so I figure it would work well in that stew..... right now, however, it's so hot that I can't think of making stew..... my thoughts turn more to boiled shrimp on ice with a cool fruit salad......gathers "frazzeled" hair in hands and puts it in a pony tail.....

  21. MCW, so sorry to hear that, its hard when they start to go downhill :(

  22. Work is just beginning to ease up a fraction too, thank goodness. Today is actually a proper day off, first time in months I haven't brought some work home with me. I treated myself this morning to celebrate, my toenails are now a lovely coral shade! (can't do 'em myself, way too cack handed!!)

Posted 2 years ago by MadcatwomanintheUK #

  23. Yay, MCW, you have been working way too hard lately, it's been 60-hour weeks, hasn't it? Now toenails, that's another thing I haven't painted since school... ;-) How glam!

Posted 2 years ago by jcat #

  24. I'm starting to seize up with the cold here so it's time I headed off to my hot water bottle and cosy bed.
I did my fingernails tonight MCW, I'm cackhanded too but at least it made me feel a wee bit better.
    Goodnight all, see you tomorrow.

  25. Night MS!!

MCW, good to pamper yourself, you deserve it!!

Posted 2 years ago by cricketsmama #

  26. Good night MS, sleep well.

Jcat - not quite, but not far off! And it was just to keep my head above water for the day to day stuff. Now at least I hope to be able to get back to the project work I was ploughing through, so will still be doing some work from home, but not for survival purposes!

Right, time to hit the road, taking Mum for an eyetest and an ears examination before bringing her back to see Bones, and now need to take in the vets on the way too. Back later with an update.

  27. .....oh I see, it's a small pumpkin!..... and very tasty I bet!......

I love all root vegetables, many times I make a root vegetable mash as a side dish instead of potatoes or rice... I make a nice stock with ham hoc, chicken bullion, thyme, garlic & onion, which I boil down for about an hour... then I add carrots, parsnips, turnips, and butternut squash... boil until they're tender, then mash them with butter and a little milk until they are the consistency of mashed potatoes!.... yummy replacement.....

  28. Cheers CM! :o)

Posted 2 years ago by MadcatwomanintheUK #

  29. MCW, how odd. Took Mr MS for an eye test today. Spooky similarity.
