  1. After the Memorial Service the NS kits would like the TDK family to come over and have a bite to eat and drink in Terri's honor. They have laid out quite the feast tonite: Meat and cheese trays, a gorgeous fruit platter with chocolate fountain, finger sandwiches, kabobs, baked beans, potato salad, potato chips, pretzels and cheese, cakes, cookies, pies, cheesecakes, and of course the fountain is flowing. Stop in and have a good cry or laugh as we all share memories of our beloved Terri. Kitties are lined up at the door to give purrs, headbonks, and sandpaper kisses! Terri will be joining us in spirit! Welcome, come have a seat!

  6. The boys are fine, MC. How are YOU doing? I read about your MRI - maaan that was a close one. Somebody should be fired over it if that's not being too unfluffy. The boys are fine, Huddy is in my lap - when I'm not posting. Mavvy and Rockymon are sleeping on the bed all in a pile.

    ((Bellantara & Lady))

    ((Tigerlilly))

Wow, TL. I don't have children, but all my friends and siblings do. End of the year was always stressful for all involved. You take care of yourself.

  7. TL, they do grow up fast don't they? It seems like yesterday my nephew was born and now he is in his junior year of college and with the football team!

  8. HM, I am certain Terri was with me today and saved me from a very bad thing! I am sitting here reflecting on HOW close a call that was! gonna grab a dark chocolate jello pudding cup and go lay on the bed and watch tv with the girls. It has been a rough day!

  11. *Steps into the room and finds herself a chair. A few seconds later, the wormhole opens up, and a beautiful long-haired calico steps into the room. The furry cat is carrying a picture of a rainbow over a soft green meadow. She makes her way over to MC with the picture and gestures at one of the tables indicating that she would like the picture to be used as a centerpiece for the table. The gorgeous purry calico then makes her way back to owlwatcher and jumps up into her lap. It is obvious that owlwatcher is holding back tears as she cuddles the soft furry bundle of purr*

This is C.C. She is a rainbow bridge kitty. The reason she is visiting is that it was because of her that I became a part of TDK. I found TDK a few days after C.C. left for the bridge, but it wasn't until there was a picture of a beautiful calico kitten that I made a comment on how much it reminded me of my baby C. Several people commented on my post, and I realized that this was a special group of people. I have been a part of TDK ever since.

*visibly trembling as she hugs C.C. ... whispers softly into the kitty's ear 'I miss you baby C'*

  12. (((OW))) I joined after loosing my little orangie "Milo" over a year ago, having lurked for quite a while before that!....

  13. ((OW)), you always write so beautifully.

  14. HM, you do have children, just not the human kind.

  15. Thank you for bringing CC, we are thrilled to have her! I keep thinking of the cats we had growing up and we had MANY! My parents pretended to put up a fight but could never say no to a stray. Terri, please help me dad herd them all up and give them each a squeeze from me! I can hear them purring loudly as you hug each one! Please give my dad a break, he's gone non-step with the whole group for 9 years now, he could use some help!

  16. *C.C. stands up, stretches, turns around making sure to twitch her tail right under owlwatcher's nose, then curls up again with a soft sigh and begins to purr loudly*

C.C. was a little worried that people might be nervous around a Rainbow Bridge kitty, but I thought it was fitting that she should be here tonight.

TDK is the perfect place to come for support when we lose one of our fur babies, AV.

And thanks for the compliment, TL.

  17. ((CC & OW)) I'm so glad you both came!

Posted 9 months ago by HuddysMama #

  18. *C.C. gazes up at HM and softly closes her green eyes*

I am glad that I was able to make it here tonight. It just seemed like it was were I had to be.

*C.C.'s rumbling purrs and sharp kneading claws stop her before the tears can start up again*

  19. My Nike, Reebok, Blue Suede Shoes and MC tell me that Terri has joined them and is giving them all purrs, headbonks, and sandpaper kisses. Terri is sorry that she has left us in sorrow, but is so happy that she has moved into the source of all white light. She understands why we are sad, but wants us to rejoice and honour her memory. Terri is surrounded by all our furbabies who have gone over the Bridge. She is at peace, as are they, waiting patiently until we join them. Until then, Terri suggests we lift our glasses and pile our plates high.

So, pass the Bailey's and the chocolate. Fleeting though this life be, let's eat, drink and be merry (and bury our faces in a furry belly at least once a day).

  20. Coming into night shift, quietly, and humbly. I wrote a poem for Terri today, I have not done that for years. I cried as I posted it. Still wonder why? So many nice posts from our members were there and wonderful thoughts and prayers. I am so glad this was done, we needed it.

As I arrived home today, a baby bird was in my parking spot. We have a tree that gives us many birds during the year. This one was not to be a survivor. He/she had a broken leg, and was not well. I moved her to the grass in hopes that the Mama would help. That was not to be, as the night grew to dusk, I picked up the little one, and took her to the pond, that maybe God would take care of her, but I got to pet her and her eyes closed and she allowed me to do that, so I hope she knew I cared. I don't need another death right now, but it is her destiny. I pray that Terri will welcome this little bird to her nest.

I tried to call John tonight as I said I would, but got no answer but the machine. Terri's voice is still there. Lost it. I hope he is well and I can speak with him before his trip to Michigan.

My cats are so tight with me tonight, I know they know. That gives me comfort but not as much as hearing her one more time.

  21. OW, I love the story and the vision. You have such a gift - I do hope that you realize that.

Well, a very reflective night. I had a wonderful phone call from Kittymom. How funny is our little TDK family.

Yesterday I worked with a trainer at the gym who I am now quite convinced is trying to kill me. I thought that every muscle I owned was in tip-top shape. Obviously she found a few that were lacking. I think that Mr. WWM and I are off to soak in the hot tub. Maybe I can work out some of the kinks before beginning again tomorrow morning.

Please keep the posts to Terri coming. OW, I will include yours in the memorial site. That one I plan to do in a nice format and send to John.

  22. MC, I saw the other post about your MRI. I truly believe that others control our destiny as we do as well. I bless the radiologist and his quick thinking and thank god your dr was in the house as well. The nurse practioner we will leave for another discusion. I am so glad you are ok and able to post. Yes, Terri was watching over you, I have no doubt. Stay well, continue to rest, eat well, and we'll see you soon.

  23. Lynn, where is your poem? I want to include it in the memorial service but didn't see it. Am I missing it?

Posted 9 months ago by WillowandWindismom #

  24. It's on the first page of Terri's memorial. It's called I am--. Thank you. It means alot to me that something I wrote would mean anything to someone.

Posted 9 months ago by Lynn from PA 6/8 #

  25. *unable to stop giggling about the trainer*

Thanks for including my post, WWM

  26. Well, off to soak a bit before bed. Goodnight and sweet dreams to all. Please keep posting on Terri's memorial site. I hope that, in time, John will want to read everything that Terri's friends have written.

Take good care, everyone. Prayers for all, and especially for John and for Terri.

Posted 9 months ago by WillowandWindismom #

  27. OW, could you transfer your posts here to the memorial site? If not, don't worry as I will move them over. But it might make it "easier". {{{{{OW}}}}}}

  28. *reaches out to pet CC*

    ((Lynn, WWM & CBM))

I know Terri is so glad to see her Tail-less Wonder again, and even though that's a comfort, I'm still mad/sad that she's gone.

I think about all my babies who've gone to The Bridge - Whiskers, Winston, Whiskers Too, Sebastian, Little Punky, John Lennon, Lars, Cinnabar, Mr. Bill, Raindrop, Crystal Koho. I know they have all welcomed Terri and kept her entertained. I know they have surrounded her with love.

And I know my life will be different without her. She reached out and touched everybody she knew. Bless her heart.

Posted 9 months ago by HuddysMama #

  29. I am sure he will, WWM, you have a good soak and sweet dreams. May the angels kiss you gently while you sleep.

Posted 9 months ago by Lynn from PA 6/8 #

  30. ((HM)) Good to see you and life will not be the same without our Terri. She was one of a kind. I hope you are well and it is good to see you again.
