  1. My ex's cat, Bridget, who he inherited when his brother had problems and couldn't keep her, got out of the house while he is out of town! She is indoor only, since the coyotes in his neighborhood literally gather in the backyards and howl. She has a cat door leading to an upper deck with no stairs to the ground (it is high up) and she must have jumped or fallen. This must have happened shortly after he left on Tuesday because neither of her litterboxes are used. He hadn't told me that no one was checking on her until today when my oldest went over and couldn't find her. Anyway, after searching and calling, I heard piteous meows coming from the woods. Went all through the woods, braving stickers and ticks, but it seemed I would go in the direction of the meow and it would stop. Finally I spotted her huddled under a tree. I started in her direction, looking briefly down to move a sticker bush, and when I looked up she was gone. I continued calling her and shaking the treat bag, but she had run further into the woods. I went back to the car to call the ex and just then a torrential downpour started. I am worried for her. She is indoor and even though she has her claws, they were just trimmed.

  4. Bridget, come home now. CW just wants to make you safe, silly girl, so come in out of the rain. Outdoors is no place for an indoor kitty.

Prayers and wishes that you will be able to catch Bridget or lure her back home soon, CW.

  5. The ex is at the Jersey shore with my middle and youngest son, and he sounds so worried the vacation might be cut short! But he has his nephew's graduation party on Saturday, supposed to drive home Sunday. I'm surprised Bridget didn't come to me, I thought she knew me! I always greeted her when I visited. She is a white moo cow kitty with a black moustache only on one side, similar to Juuie's.

  6. Also, my ex's house is a 1/2 hour drive from me. I had to leave when the rain started and will not make it back there until tomorrow. I told the neighbor and they will keep an eye out for her, and my oldest son is going over there later to spend the night. He used to live there with his father and Bridget knows him better than me.

  12. Bridget come home!!! Some cats are so terrified outside,my own red kitty who just got out wouldn't come to me he was so overwhelmed and scared that I had to go grab him and it took a minute for him to relax after he recognized me,I though I was going to get thrashed. When I was standing in front of him calling he acted like he didn't recognize me.
Maybe eldest son can go out frequently with smelly tuna or something and get his hands on her and bring her in.

  13. If she did get out on Tuesday like I assume (due to empty litterboxes) then she has already survived two nights outside.

Thank you everyone, and I'll keep you posted!

  26. She did not come in. My son spent the night over there in case she came to the door. He put food out for her. At my suggestion he put a shirt of my ex-husbands from the hamper (worn and smells like him) on the back deck to lure her home. I'm hoping he is able to get her in before he goes to work this morning. I have a very full plate today, partially due to having to move many of yesterday's obligations to today after driving over there and spending two hours trying to get her in. Son had the same experience as me, called her, she would meow, he'd go in the direction of the meow and she would fall silent.
