  1. Might as well get the NS office open for the evening! Come on in, we are having a welcome party for our newest family member "Mystie Skye" who was arriving to her meowmy today! We are having cake and ice cream as well as goodies off the grill. We have a gorgeous Maine Coon working the grill as Mystie is a Maine Coon! The fountains are flowing and there are treats for the kits! Come on in and join us as we anxiously await the arrival of our newest furbaby! Welcome

  2. *sliding in*

No news yet? Seems to me that we had to wait for news when Maxie arrived too. Ange is probably taking tons of pictures right now. Max is probably not too happy right now, but soon he will realize he is still King.

Is there some corn on the cob on the grill? Yumm.

  5. Hi MC and Lynn. I'm running my glass under all the fountains as I need something to keep the cold out.

  6. Hi, AV, NGM, going off to watch it too. I hear it in the background. Have a good night and a good day tomorrow. Mama Lynn out for the night. Everyone have a good day and a good night. Until I see you again, may the angel's kiss you gently while you sleep.

  7. ohhhh sorry NNGM, didn't mean to ignore you, I became sidetracked by the thought of hot cobs on the grill.

  13. Oh, gosh - I deserve combat pay!!! I had to go to a Red Cross dinner with Mr. WWM, who is on the Board. Happily, they had wine. Dinner ..... chicken fried steak!!! Yeah, like that's high on the list of every health conscience American! Of course, where there is chicken fried, there must be gravy! All of my aching muscles were screaming sitting in that folding chair for two hours. I'll bet they all wondered why I was squirming so much.

    The things we don't do.....

  14. Forgive me, I am a Northerner and therefore stupid about some things - why do they call it "chicken fried"? Is it because it is breaded and fried like chicken?

Posted 2 years ago by NNGM #

  15. Oh, not everyone eats that? Well, actually - I'm not sure! It's round steak usually, that's been beaten to death to make it tender. Then it's dredged in egg and flour and fried. So it has a kind of crispy crust. I guess you could say that it's breaded like fried chicken. But in Texas, you just order "chicken fry" and they know what you want - chicken fried steak! With cream gravy.

  16. WWM, I have no idea what it is either. So is it chicken or beef?

    Posted 2 years ago by Moonshadow_NZ #

  17. Actually I think you can get it at any Bob Evans. It just never sounded very good to me. I don't care for the sausage biscuit gravy either *gasp from the Southern crowd*

Posted 2 years ago by NNGM #

  18. Oh, it's beef! It's a steak, but a tough cut which is why it's pounded to death. We have good arms out here on the prairie! Comes from all that pounding of inferior cuts of beef!

Posted 2 years ago by WillowandWindismom #

  19. Not to worry about offending me, NNGM. I can't eat sausage or anything that even contains the word "sausage". But cream gravy.... yummy!

Posted 2 years ago by WillowandWindismom #

  20. Do you have beef schnitzel? Airy has been looking for some but can only find thin steak which she pounds into submission to become schnitzel. Schnitzel here is cut from rump very thin.

    Posted 2 years ago by Moonshadow_NZ #

  21. Well, I think that I'm taking my now elevated cholesterol count and heading off to get ready for bed. Have a great evening, everyone! And don't forget to have those biscuits and gravy in the morning!

Posted 2 years ago by WillowandWindismom #

  22. Schnitzel??? We don't have no stinkin' foreign food out here on the prairie! :-)

Posted 2 years ago by WillowandWindismom #

  23. ROTFL, yeah right! Your food sounds foreign to me sometimes. LOL
What on earth is cream gravy
