  2. Are you feeding him in a feet down position - not on his back? IF on his back, he might be aspirating a little and that is not a good thing... It has been a while, but he may need food a little more frequently than 5 hours at his age... then he might not be so ravenous... some who have fostered babies more recently should be able to help here... Good luck!

  3. I always place him on his tummy on towel he likes to wiggle is toes when he eats. All 12 in front....He is doing better today. Ever 4 hours and 15=20ml at a time. Up a great part of the day. Sleeping at night. Goes back to sleep after 2am feeding. My kids weren't this good.... 11.0 oz today.
likes to chew on fingers and noses when he plays w/ you, thank you

  4. Ohh, he's a polydactal. I love those extra toes. You are so lucky.

You might want to discourage him from chewing on your fingers and nose. When he gets bigger he'll think it's still okay and once he gets stronger, it will really hurt. If you substitute a small stuffed toy for your fingers, he'll play with that. Then you can teach him that your fingers and nose are for loving him.

  5. Bree, welcome! If that is your baby in your avatar, he is PRECIOUS! Oh my gosh, I want to put a little kiss on that cute face! He sounds like a typical growing kitten, wanting to eat a LOT. He is a growing baby! Do you have a name for him yet? I have never had a baby that small so I don't know much about feeding him but I do know about loving him! Definitely try the stuffed animal as it will give him something to snuggle with, ie. beanie baby sized. You may try a hot water bottle tucked in his bed (half of it so if it gets too warm he can scoot off it) with him. Keep us updated on the status of your growing baby. I am owned by Molly (14, a Maine Coon) and Betty and Wilma (3, sisters from the same litter, both "mutts"). Betty is in my avatar right now and if you click on her you can see their Catster pages. We are so glad you are here! Everyone is really great and we are one big furry family!

  8. Hi, Bree. How is this little on's eye doing? Is he pooping regularly? I know you were concerned about both of these things a few days ago. You are doing a great job with him! :)

  9. Good afternoon all we are calling him Sweet Sydnie his new forever mom likes that also. She will be taking him home over the July 4th weekend as long as hes a little butter ball of fur and heating hard food. I work w/ her. He boy cat passed this past March at the age of 20 so i know she will be a good mom. I have twins 5 years old [b-dAY] over the 4th. One of each. They are black and white alley cats. One is long hair the other sort. They are each others opposites. Sydnie is pooping and peeing well. Eating lots and gaining weight each day. I would say almost 2 weeks old now. Today he pooped but it was watery. Only a small amount. He pooped earlier and it was normal. Well like spackel. If you call that normal for him. Since it was not real loose or a lot I will hope it will pass. I have pedilite if needed. His eyes are looking better. Only crust over night. The 3rd lid is still about 30% open so we are waiting for that to clear up. He is becoming more vocal so hes really tugging at the heart strings now on each of us. THANKS FOR THE SUPPORT.

  12. When I saw the title of this thread I was wondering if we were going to be discussing the men in our lives...tee hee. Seriously, Tom eats like a wolf. I've told him that I could give him a bowl of nuts and bolts and he'd wolf it down and not even notice.

I am so happy for Sweet Sydnie. Bless you for taking such good care of the fuzzy little dude.

  13. My male "wrong-way" does not seem to like other cats. He can barley stand his sister. At least we have a big house so they are not together much unless they are asleep w/ my daughter. He sniffs Sydnia and has even cleaned him once but try to make sure he is not by him w/ me or another adult. Now " Baby-girl" she hates Sydnia. She stuck up all her long hair and made noises i had never heard her make before. And then she ran and hide for 2 days. So you can see I wanted to find this little guy a great new home. Well this morning we have already pooped and then peeped on my Sunday cloths. He weights 11 oz. We are turning my large whirlpool bath tube into a play pen area today for him. He wants to be up and a moving more. He likes the balls w/ bells in them.[his 1st toy]And the sock w/ a crinkle toy in is a strong second. He his eating slower this morning. I am using a new dropper. Almost 20ml. He eats and then rests 5-10 minutes and then wants more. It can take 30 minutes to feed him all the way. Is this normal? Well he's asleep in my shirt pocket. I'm going to put him to bed. thank you all.
