*peeks in, it's dark, hears the distinct pitter-patter of kitty feet*
So that's why there aren't as many agency kitties at the cafe right now!
It looks like the kits are decorating the rink with lots of pink balloons and streamers and other kitties are setting up drinking fountains and buffet tables for humans and kitties alike. There's a cluster of kitties meeting at the dj booth organizing the music. When we get started, the kitties want to start out with a prayer and a moment of silence and the first song will be "What a Wonderful World".
There's a song that is a happy goodbye song, but in a movie titled "Remember the Titans", it was sung slowly and respectfully at the gravesite as friends filed past the grave of a classmate who left this life too young.
*slowly* "Na na na na...na na na na...hey hey hey...goodbye..."
Let us celebrate Terri's life.

Celebrating Terri's life at the roller rink

Willow and Windi, finally having gotten dressed, prepare to go to the roller rink. Willow had to help Windi a lot because Windi kept crying and had to stop and blow her nose. Willow gives her sister a kiss and says, "Terri wouldn't want you to cry like that. Let's go put on something that would make her happy". The girls scouted around in the closet and finally decided. Willow is wearing a lime green sundress with big yellow bows at the shoulders. She has a little locket around her neck and inside is her favorite picture of Andy, the little Nilla Bean. Windi is wearing bright pink overalls with big buttons that look like daisies. She thinks that Terri would smile to see the bright colors.
The girls had mama try to duplicate Uncle John's tuna ice cream. They have it packed in a cooler, but they know that it won't be as good as Uncle John's. They have salmon puffs, crab dip and nip tea sandwiches. For the non-furry guests, they have brought some champagne so that they can toast the good life of Terri.
Mama sends the girls through the cat hole. They arrive, give all of their friends a kiss, and before helping with the decorations, they go to a picture of Terri and Andy that is displayed and they leave a bouquet of yellow roses.

Bleau is herding the Rock n Roll group this morning. He has picked beautiful Hibiscus, Ellie and Vega are demanding hibiscus for their hair. Bleau is trying to get JuneBug and Randle to clean up their tuxies, those silly boys. Charlie is cooking in the kitchen and it smells, well, smelly. It must be fish of some sort. I do see some pink frosting of some sort. Ellie, dramatic calico that she is, is putting on a vintage romper suit that she loves. It has tiny mice all over it. Vega has selected a beautiful pink tutu. I hope she doesn't forget she is not supposed to rip it off and make a tug of war rope out of it. Silly canine! They are packing up their coolers and collars. All 8 of them turn and wave bye Mom, we are headed to the rink, see ya later............"Tallulah, don't forget your little pink tutu to match Vega's"

Fred and Cricket arrive at the skating rink. Cricket is dressed in a purple dress with some purple flowers for her fur.Terri loved purple. Fred is wearing a Hawaiian Shirt with some sandals and khaki shorts. He wanted the feel of Florida for Terri. They are bringing some lobster bites and some nip tea for the kitties. They are somber but know they have to rejoice in Terri's life. They go through the cathole and leave the food on the table then greet their friends. They see the picture of Terri and Andy and go over and give them a kiss and leave some purple daisies for their friends.

Deuter is a mess! He is hopping all over the place wanting to leave--he never gets to leave home and visit with others! Teaser is a bit apprehensive as she has never been through the worm hole. Teaser shuns clothing--she did deck herself out with her bling! She likes her rhinestones. Deuter is always well dressed in his Tux! Deuter has a bottle of cat nip bubbles--they are fun to chase. Teaser has a ton of ribbons and balloons--one for every kitty to write a special note to Auntie Terri and then release to float up to her. They give sandpaper kissed to mom and promise to be good and mind their manners. The adventure through the worm hole begins. They are a little shy--they haven't met anyone in person before...

MacKenzie and Grommet have been preparing for the skate memorial all day Thursday. They made small black armbands that say "In Loving Memory of Terri, our "BCAM", to wear at the memorial.
And they have picked out their outfits for the skate. Mac is wearing a baby blue, long sleeve button down collar shirt, cream colored gaberdine slacks, and his camel suede skates ~ his typical "George Clooney" look; Grommet has selected a baby pink and blue plaid ruffled pinafore scattered with tiny roses, and her baby pink suede skates; They're both feeling melancholy about the memorial, but are determined to see that all the kits have a good time ~ they know that is what Terri would want them to do....
They have cooked all day for the potluck (with Kittymom) to prepare platters of food for the kits and the kitty parents who will be attending the memorial.
For all the kitties they've prepared platters of salmon mousse puffs, tuna tartare on catnip toast triangles, crunchy chicken breast nuggets - greeny style, chicken wings marinated in tuna aoili, shrimp and lobster cevichi, and rare filet of beef on wooden skewers with sweet and sour catnip dipping sauce. They've baked tuna cookies, and an enourmous catnip flavored lemon glazed sheet cake;

Leela has been out in the rain all morning picking wildflowers and purple and yellow iris flowers. After cleaning up and drying off, she dresses into her pink and silver sequined onesie. She slips into the rink quietly, puts a big pile of crab cakes and tuna melts on the buffet table, teeters over to the human's drinkin' table and places the bottle of bubbly mama gave her there. Then she heads for the picture of Terri and Andy and puts her big bunch of colorful flowers on it. She gazes at Andy; she misses him. He left just as she was getting to know him. Suddenly she feels a tap on her shoulder and it's Willow. "He liked both of us, what a rascal!" They hug and have a quiet moment together. They then step aside as others gather. "Oooh, is that a doggie? Some of my neighbors are dogs - hey, these guys are Shaddo's friends! Hi!" Leela runs to say hi to Windi, the rest of the Rock n Roll group, Fred and Cricket, Deuter and Teaser, and MacKenzie and Grommet. Everyone looks wonderful and they agree Terri must be loving this.

For the kitty parents we've prepared an assortment of hot and cold snacks, including assorted tea sandwiches (cucumber, watercress & cream cheese, chicken salad, jalapeno jelly and goat cheese with cilantro, and sliced rare roast beef with horseradish cream sauce). We're bringing buffalo chicken wings, shrimp egg rolls, pork empanadas, mini quiches, bacon ramakis & we're also including an assortment of chips and dips ~ potato chips, fritos, and tortilla chips in all flavors and colors to go with a guacamole dip, a special ranch dip, a spicy bean dip, a lemon spiced crab dip, and a creamy blue cheese and goat cheese dip. And for dessert we're bringing assorted cookies of all flavors, assorted cupcakes, mini cheesecakes, and ice creams in all flavors.
In addition, we're bringing 'nip sodas for the kitties,and an assortment of beverages for the kitty parents, including wines, champagnes, coffes (regular and flavored), sodas, bottled waters, vodkas, gins, scotches, bourbons, mixers, and liquors of your choice.
We've packed everything carefully, and it is ready to deliver to the party ~ hot food is hot, and cold food is cold; the savory platters and bowls have been 'primped and parslied', and the sweets have likewise been arrayed attractively. Grommet and Mac are dressed, they have a beautiful bouquet of daylillies and roses in assorted colors, and they have stacked the coolers on Kittymom's luggage trolley to take thru the wormhole. Kittymom kisses them both, "have fun at the rink today, and remember Terri how would want you two to celebrate her life; I'll be there later this afternoon to help out with the party." And then, WHOOSH..... they scoot thru the wormhole to the rink, all their goodies in tow.

Grommet scurries over to the picture of Terri and Andy, and wiping a small tear out of the corner of her eye, she gently places the bouquet of flowers she and Mac have brought down with the rest of the lovely flower arrangements. She pauses for a minute to reflect on how much she will miss them both, and remembering what her mom told her, she gives a little shake, smooths her fur and scampers back to help Mac unload their coolers; Willow and Windi catch sight of the two of them and come to help with the unpacking. After Purrs and headbonks all around, they don their skates and set off to greet the rest of their kitty friends; it's been sooo long since they've seen everyone because Kittymom has been in California helping friends for three weeks.... The rink looks very festive, and they know Terri would be so proud to see the celebration.

Oh my! All of a sudden MacKenzie spots the goggie!! "What the....." he growls out loud before he can stop himself... "A goggie!!!" He races to hide under the tablecloth covering one of the many tables laden with tasty treats for the party; Grommet and Fred catch sight of the incident from across the rink, and giggling at the 'fraidy cat', they quickly skate over to the table and coax him out.... "Silly boy," Grommet chides him, "that goggie won't hurt you, he's a friendly goggie and he likes all of us."
Mac, now throughly chagrined, slowly slides out from under the table, smooths his fur, and tries to act like nothing happened. He hopes none of the girls noticed his cowardly display..... ;-) -
Leela wanders to the DJ booth. "Would you please play 'Sweet Caroline' this afternoon?"

The wormhole opens and Shady and Tuffy both awkwardly enter together becoming briefly stuck til Shady manages to wriggle ahead of Tuffy. Shady thinks Tuffy needs to cut back on his treats as he's getting so fluffy these days. Both arrive in their best suits but refuse to leave home without their Purple colored baseball caps w/TDK Rocks boldly embroidered on the front. The boys carry their white roses to the lovely framed photos of Terri and Andy. They bow their heads silently lay the flowers to rest beneath the pictures then go to say hello to their friends. Neither of them know how to skate but will find much to do no doubt.
There's a slight whiff of Jasmine in the air as the worm hole opens once more and Oreo steps through the wormhole with an armload of lovely, delicate jasmine flowers. She decided to wear her floral spring jumper w/a matching choker around her neck. Turning she helps her shy little sister, Sugarfoot to slide through with a tray of nip cookies fresh from meowmy's oven and some fresh cut country greens topped with aromatic kipper snacks as refreshments for the party. Sugar is wearing a matching floral jumper and choker like her sis and together they deliver the treats then go directly to the pictures of their dear departed friends Terri and the Tailess Wonder Andy. They whispered some purrs then placed their jasmine among all the other beautiful flowers their friends had brought as well. Noticing that Teaser seems a bit nervous the girls go over to say a friendly hello. -
Grommie is skating with Willow when she notices the new arrivals don't have any skates; "Look," she says to Willow, "Karenopa's kitties don't have skates. Let's get them some rentals, and then we can teach them how to skate; it'll be fun, and it's so easy for kitties to learn skating, you know, because we're just naturally graceful." Willow considers her suggestion for a moment and then, "Yes, I think that's a great idea; we can have a 'beginners skating tutorial' in the middle of the rink. It won't take them long at all to learn."
So, they head off to the rental desk, calling after Karen's kits to join them; "Shady, Sugarfoot, Tuffy, Oreo! C'mon over here and we'll get you guys fitted with skates. Then we'll teach you how to skate! Don't be afraid, it's really easy, and you'll really have fun!"
They are a little skeptical at first, but Willow and Grommie make it sound so easy they decide to give it a try ~ after all, they ARE at the rink, so what harm can it do to have a go at this skating thing? The rest of the kitties seem to enjoy it and it does look easy.....

The Rock n Roll gang gathers very quietly and goes over to Terri and Andy's pictures. They sweetly place their hibiscus' with the rest of the flowers. Tallulah sees a tear coming from Randle's green eyes. She gently nudges him and tells him it is ok to cry for a minute but for just a minute. Terri would not want him to be sad today. AFter a moment, the goggies go one way and the kitties go another. Watch out Vega, don't knock the table down, there is plenty for everybody. Being the acrobat she is, she jumps and twirls mid-air, making a 10 point landing on her in-line skates! She loves all of the kitties attempting to meet every single one and laying a big ole slobbery goggie kiss on during the process. "I promise I won't hurt you, I love kitties!"

Sugarfoot is being so friendly! Teaser gives her a balloon. She likes the smell of Jasmine. Deuter chuckles--he likes the goggie and hopes that he will skate fast and chase him. (Sherlock sits at the wormhole entrance and whines for his kitteh.) Deuter begins to blow bubbles--nip bubbles are the best!

Grommie leaves Willow at the rental desk to help the newbies get fitted for their skates while she heads over to the DJ booth. On the way, she tells several other kitties what is happening. "Fred, Cricket, Leela, Windi," she calls, "we're going to have a beginners skating class in the middle of the rink. Karenopa's kitties have never skated before, so we're going to teach them how. What music should I ask the DJ to play? We need some easy skating music. Do you guys have any suggestions?"

Oreo is so grateful and thanks Willow and Grommie for their help. She reassures Sugarfoot who's nearly ready to bolt for the wormhole. Oreo takes her by the paw and tells her she'll stay right by her side. The boys are much braver and both step up to be fitted for their skates. Shady thinks he could be pretty fast on wheels. Tuffy just thinks it's a quicker means to arrive at the treat table and anxiously awaits his turn.

Oh, boy, a skating class! The kitties are so excited ~ they clap floofy paws and cheer, "Yea! Great! Terri and Andy would be so pleased that more kitties are learning to skate! The more the merrier when it comes to our skating parties! We can never have too many kitty skaters here at the TDK roller rink!"

Sugarfoot thanks Teaser for the lovely balloon and they share some quiet meows while Sugar awaits her skate fitting. Sugar's not at all sure about these wheels as transportation...music or not she's still thinking about bolting. Teaser says to relax Sugar this is my first time too. We'll be brave together.

Ruggles and Rotley arrive with their beautiful helium balloons, followed by Thor and Wishes, who carry armloads and baskets of lovely flowers.
They place the white orchid bouquet in front of the portrait of Terri and Andy, and Emma follows behind them as they walk over to Willow and Windi. They all look so dignified, and she is so proud of her babies, just as Terri was of hers.

Teaser thanks Sugar for helping her--she is pretty shy. Teaser loves the new wheels--she is graceful baby, not an ox like her brother--he likes in-line skates like his hooman wears. Teaser says she is happy that she came to meet friends. Sugar is soooo graceful! She is like a ballarina on wheels! Teaser is ohhing and aahhing at her beautiful new friend!

Fred steps up to the microphone and welcomes all the furry animals to the party to honor Terri. Has put on a tuxedo with tails, looking very dapper and tells the group he will now play The Gift by Jim Brickman. Terri loved piano music, so this is to her.

Leela has been staring at Terri and Andy's pictures and is a bit confused. She has heard about Heaven and The Rainbow Bridge from Mama, but doesn't really get it. She decides to go find Fred; maybe coming from a fellow kitty it will all make more sense to her...

After a quick chat with the DJ to explain about the skating tutorial, Grommie heads to the center of the rink just as Willow is leading the 'students' out on the floor; The DJ decides that a medley of "mellow" Beatles tunes will be just the thing to get the kits started with their skating. He loads the CD's ~ "Yesterday", "Norweigan Wood", and "Hey, Jude" start of the lesson.
Grommet and Willow give the group a few quick instructions, then they start taking their pupils individually; Grommet carefully takes Shady by the paws; she's skating backwards and purrs, "push with your left, push with your right, just glide along, that's it... push and glide, push and glide..." Her tail swishing gracefully as she sways from side to side slowly skating backwards. In the background the music helps with the rhythm, "Yesterday, love was such an easy game to play....." At the same time Willow takes Oreo by the paws and skating backwards, guiding her pupil very gently, purrs the same instructions, "push with your left, push with your right, glide and push, glide and push. That's it! You've got it now!"
The other kitties have been watching, and seeing how quickly the students are catching on, several decide to help with the class. Windi skates into the group and spins around, grabs Sugarfoot by the paws and glides him gently around just like her sister. Willow is nervous when she catches sight of Windi out of the corner of her eye, but, seeing how carefully she's working with Sugarfoot, she's secretly pleased by her sister's initiative. Soon all the kitties have gotten the hang of it and are gliding gracefully around the rink on their own!
The DJ sees that the newbies have all figured out how to skate (it really doesn't take these furrkids long to catch on) so he decides to pick up the pace a little.... Keeping with the Beatles theme, he loads some new CD's into the player.... "Roll over Beethoven", and "Yellow Submarine" are his next pics for the party...

Oreo skates right along side of her sister and is amazed that Sugar is such a natural! She's even a little jealous as she's not feeling nearly as graceful. Shady thinks Grommet is really sweet for a girl. He finds himself looking into her eyes a little longer than he might normally. Gulp...He swallows dryly and thanks Grommet after the music stops then skates over to say hello to Rotley and Ruggles who've just arrived. Moving almost too fast he realizes he's not quite sure where the brakes are on these skates and thinks he should have stayed closer to Grommet who was explaining it to them all just moments ago. Shady ends up on his belly and slides to a stop just before colliding with Ruggles and Rotley. Looking up at them he smiles and says Hi!
Tuffy made a slow lap around the rink then quietly sits down on the side line...asking himself....Is that a GOGGIE I see out there on the floor? -
"Yellow Submarine! Meowmy told me that was her Daddy's favorite 'new' song!" Leela thinks all songs are new.

Tuffy is quietly resting and thinking with a touch of regret that Andy is gone and today Bogman and Clark can't be here. Instead they're nesting with daddy John and remembering happier times. Grumpy sits next to Tuffy and they greet one another like old friends. They've never met at the rink but know each other from their meowmys. It's nice to meet Grumpy and Tuffy thinks he's not the only one who'd rather watch from the sidelines but they both decide it's time to get up and go join the others. They're having such fun. Leela is giggling the loudest and it makes him giggle too. He skates up and along side of Leela telling her she looks nice today. He calls to Grumpy to come along but Grumpy isn't sure he's quite ready and tells Tuffy to go ahead....he'll catch up.

Betty and Wilma and Beth's Lydia all get dressed for the party! Betty is in her purple flowered sundress with flowers all over it and big purple bows in her hair. Wilma has on a pink sundress and pink ribbons in her hair. Lydia is in her little yellow sundress with bows in her hair and her pretty ballet slippers on. The girls look beautiful! They have cases of nip soda and tuna on crackers for all! They all pack their bags and head to the wormhole and swoosh off they go! They slip into the rink and see all their friends!
