  1. Here we are, somber but glad that we had a skate wake for Terri! I can only imagine she is smiling. I can bet she is planning one heck of a Skate Party for all the kits at the Bridge! And the menu, oh my! Our NS will be catered by the Skate Wake leftovers! We also have a full bar for refreshment. Come in and reflect, share your day/week, talk about the weekend ahead! TGIF! We have the juke box on, windows open, and flowers of all types on the tables! Welcome! Betty and Wilma will be your hostesses for tonite! There are kittens of all types for your luvin'!

  2. I am sure she is, MC, and thank you for opening tonights night shift. Funny thing happened today. Someone posted Sissy's song, I think, in the memorial for Terri. I have been a long time fan of Alan Jackson and had never heard this song. I watched it on You Tube, wonderful memorial for Terri. At work, we change radio stations at will. Today decided to do country. What do you think played on the radio. As tears were steaming down my face, a co worker asked what was wrong. I explained after the song. Terri was with me. The song is an older song, not one they would have in their mix. I knew she was there and I am somewhat at peace.

  3. Hi, MC and Lynn.

Wow, what an amazing connection with Terri today, Lynn! I'm glad it brought you some comfort.

I am glad it's Friday. My week wasn't that tough, but I haven't been sleeping very well. I plan to sleep in tomorrow!

  4. Sure is slow tonite at the NS, maybe everyone is just reflecting as it has been a difficult week! I think that is certainly a coincidence and Terri WAS with you!

  5. I didn't have time today to send my three kits to the skate party for Terri. I always enjoy reading that thread. I'll have to work on skating costumes for my crew. lol

  6. Hi MC how are you today. Yes It has been a difficult week for all of us. I hope that we all are continuing to heal and that next week will be better for all of us. Hey KW! It brought me much comfort, as I am a believer of those who pass come back to us sometime, somewhere. Through my tears, I found joy. Be it what it may.

  7. I may have an opportunity to visit with my nine-year-old niece this weekend. Her adoptive mother is bringing her to Oregon (from Alaska). Lynn, you will remember her as the Hello Kitty Princess. lol

  8. Oh, wow, KW, yes I do remember. I hope you have a very nice visit and can't wait to hear how it went. Enjoy the time together. (KW)

  9. Thanks, Lynn. I'm sure she is growing like a weed. :)
    How is Dakoda doing?

  10. I love Sissy's song and the story behind it. Lynn, like you, I am a long time Alan Jackson fan. He has a knack for hitting the nail on the head.

Mr. WWM have been watching a movie that we got through Netflix today called Taking Chance. It actually was an HBO film. Excellent - they got it right.

  11. Well, a long week for me, and I need some rest. Terri has been remembered in every way possible on this website and I know she is smiling from heaven, probably not knowing how many friends she had. And what a difference she made in so many peoples lives.

So as we move forward, remember her, in the plants that grow from the ground, the veggies you will harvest, the rain that falls, the sun that shines, for as our angel is in the heavens she will give back. Remember everything you loved about her, and pay it forward, for that will be her greatest reward. No good deed goes unpunished.

Miss you my friend, and good night to all, and may the angels kiss you gently while you sleep.

    Love to all, Mama Lynn

  12. Beautifully said, Lynn. And as always, life goes forward. As Terri would want it to. And how lovely has it been to see Dragonwing posting today. There is a message there, I think.

  13. Dakoda may have some issues, we are yet to know, please keep our little one in your prayers. Tests as most of you know take time, so we don't really have an answer right now. Time will tell.

  14. Hello, WWM, sorry we didn't get to chat, but I think so too. He has been very active this week. Good to see him, and hope all is well with him. Hope all is well with you and yours.

  15. I will definitely keep Dakoda in my prayers, Lynn. Goodnight, dear lady!

  18. Evening MC, Lynn, KW, and WWM. I made steamed crab legs and an Asian salad with orange ginger dressing and dried cherries. There is Tres Leche cake for dessert with beautiful red roses. Hubby and daughter are playing Rock Band and will be here shortly. We are going to watch some Mall Cop movie. Daughter said it was funny...my humor and hers are a little different so we will see. Dragonwing's blessing was just what we needed. We are pretty sure that Sharon blessed the whiskey we toasted with. Not to mention the wine with dinner.

  19. SM.... WHAT???? You were supposed to go out to eat!!!

Mr. WWM and I just watched a movie that you would love. They got it right. It is called Taking Chance with Kevin Bacon. It was an HBO movie, but we don't get HBO so had to rent it. It is the true story of a LTC who was the escort home for a young Marine killed in Iraq. I cried buckets, but.... they got it right.

  20. He has been eating out all week. He was in New Jersey. He wanted to spend time at home. Daughter leaves in a few days. We will be going out Sunday.

  21. By the way WWM please tell your husband Happy Anniversary!!! And while I am at it tell him thank you.

Posted 2 years ago by SoxsMom #

  22. {{{{{{SM}}}}}}} Watching the movie tonight brought back so many memories of those young men who stood with him on this day so long ago. They answered the call but did not come home. For me they truly are "forever young". Thank you for sending your thanks. You and I know what that means.

Give your young airman a kiss and hug for us, and tell him "Thank you for your service". And for you, too. We may not wear the uniform but still.......

  23. Friday night - what a luxury to know that I don't have to set my alarm for 5:00 am!! I think that we are heading off to sit in the swing for a bit on the patio and just smell the fresh air. Then time for bed.

Sweet dreams, All. And SM - Happy Anniversary! I'm so glad that he is home.

  24. Have given him a kiss or two...one more can't hurt. I like the wife uniform better--I look like crud in camouflage!

  29. Okay I tried the movie--not my kind but not awful.

OH enjoy Washington DC, I sure love it when I am there. My great aunt and great uncle live in College Park, they were professors at the University of Maryland. On visits there I remember wonderful trips to the National Zoo, and Smithsonian. I also love the Vietnam Memorial Wall. Have a great time!!

Well it is time to rough house with Sherlock so he will go to sleep--Deuter is saying get the crazy goggie away from me, I am tired! Meowwww!!

Good Night and Peace to All.

  30. Evening everyone, I see that there was fun to be had with the skate party earlier....and that Dragonwing posted too, what thread may I ask?

Have had a tiring day myself, weeded my front yard starting @ 5 am, putzed around the house, and then went to the ER again with Lynn. Good news they actually found out what is wrong with her legs swelling up, gout or gouty/arthritis which can at least be treated. For the last two weeks all they have done was basically thrown different meds/diagnosis at her and she was frustrated. But things are looking up now, yessirree....

    Happy Belated Anniversary SoxsMom!
