  6. Thank you, MC. I live in a very safe suburb. However, I love Detroit and always hope that it will rise again.

  7. Preciouskitty...I thought you lived in Indianapolis? I grew up in Southfield...a suburb of Detroit. Maybe I have a false sense of security, but I never felt frightened...I loved living in the Detroit area.

  8. Indianapolis is my pretend home. However, my stated occupation of Nerd is correct. :)

  10. I hope the Red Wings win tonight, even though I'm not a hockey fan. BTW, Dee, I live in F.H.

  14. Google image of Jenny Linsky. I collect Jenny Linsky and Cat Club books by Esther Averill. :)

  15. AHA! So that IS an Esther Averill drawing. I was going to ask you about that. When I was young, one of my favorite books was "The Fire Cat" by Esther Averill. When I first saw your avatar, I thought about that book right away. When I looked through it, your picture wasn't in there. But she had a distinctive way of drawing cats. (By the way, I thought of the book yesterday with the whole Madonna-on-the-roof thing. And I still like the book, because I have in fact turned into Mrs. Goodkind, the lady who helps the strays. Ha.)

  16. Yay! Another Esther Averill fan! The Fire Cat is a cute "I Can Read" book, but her others are really my favorites. Each cat in the Cat Club has its own distinctive personality.

  17. Now I need to look them up. I really did love that book, probably because it really was one of the first ones I could read.

    Oh yeah... Go Wings!

  18. We're all Wings fans this week!

Posted 2 years ago by preciouskitty #

  19. Yes, but I was a Wings fan back when they were so awful that they were referred to as the "Dead Wings". I had many Canadian friends in college, who turned me on to hockey.
