  3. I am so tired tonight...we painted two rooms last weekend and got new carpet yesterday. Now we can get our stuff moved back in...what a mess. The little additions to the house figured out where every frayed spot was in the old carpet so it was time...LOL

  9. Well, where do I start about the kits. They are doing as well as can be expected since every time they turn around we are locking them in a different room, moving litter boxes and moving their food and water. Yesterday was the worst. We took them to the kennel so all the carpet could be laid at once. We briefly lost Munchkin. She hid in the stacks of stuff we had put in the kitchen (one of three rooms that don't have carpet). Finally got her and we were off to the vet. Both vehicles were full of "singing". I didn't know some of them had voices since they no longer meow much. When we got there KD had to leave so I got the six-pack checked in for day care. The ladies seemed happy to have some boarders and the kits were okay. Once they were paired off two by two they had me come back to get the "rooms" labled with the occupants. At that time I knew I was in trouble. Munchkin stood up, turned around and laid on a blanket with her back to me. All I could think of all day was that little girl so mad at me. When we went to pick them up she did it to KD...same thing...They are now happier that things are getting back to normal but I don't think we will ever get everything un-packed...WHAT A MESS.

    But, I love my carpet...LOL

  10. I have it as my "drink of choice" since I can't take any alcohol! I really hate water and its too warm for tea! That's my story and I am sticking to iT!

  11. ... LOL Alicia!.... my two were the same way when I was "redoing" my kitchen.... so MAD each day because "workmen" came into "their" house, and I had to close them in different rooms at times!..... it took TONS of feliway and anxiety pills to get Cuddles back to her "normal" grumpy self... Abby, not so hard... as long as she could hear me reassure her, she was fine!....

    .. glad that's over!....

  12. velvet and spice are fine. i am doing fine also but am very busy still trying to unpack and find places for my stuff and now tending a veggie garden. today a friend came over and we painted my dining room apple green, a little duller than a granny smith apple. i got rid of the black wall with the weird oriental symbols on it 2 weeks ago with white primer. we'll be doing the livingroom in about 2 weeks, and then the hard room - the bedroom. it's going from dark blue to primer white to dark red. i'll have to sleep in the dining room for some time, but that's ok. and things are better with the parents as i'm decreasing my calls and time with them...

  14. ....I love to plant a garden!... I can't do that in Fla. but I plant my "spice garden" as soon as I get up to NC in the spring!...they last all season!... I love "apple green", I bet your rooms look great!... good for you, backing away a little from the calls.... I know that's hard, my Mom still tries to "tell me what to do and how to do it" and I'm 50!.....

  15. I barely got the garden in before this all started and I'm just glad it has been raining cuz I would have forgotten to water it...lol

  16. Sounds like you have kind of the same color taste as hubby...his office went from "dirty white" to a green. My office went from a "dirtier white" to a blue-purple kind of thing...I love it now that I got a new lamp and can actually see.

We only grow a few things in our garden but better than nothing I guess...

  24. I love cabbage, and brussel sprouts are "tiny cabbages".... this is how I prepare mine......

    SAUTEED BRUSSEL SPROUTS

    2 pts. brussel sprouts
    1 onion, finely chopped
    1 tbsp. sugar
    1/8 tsp. salt
    4 slices bacon
    3 tbsp. white wine vinegar
    1/4 tsp. dry mustard
    1/8 tsp. black pepper

Steam brussel sprouts for 5 minutes. Brown bacon and crumble. Saute onion in bacon drippings for 5 minutes. Add the remaining ingredients and pour over brussel sprouts and bacon.

  29. Hi everyone...Madonna has suffered no ill effects from her... ahem..."adventure" except outside excursions are suspended. She's terribly torked off. She's eating poached chicken right now.

I finally found our new home yesterday and signed the lease. It's less than 1/2 mile north of our current place and CJ can't wait to get there. It's a 2 story loft townhome (3 stories if you count the garage) and Calamity Whosit LIVES for stairs! I expect her to break a leg diving from the first story to the second within days of moving in. More adventure! Did I mention this new place is $75 less than our current mold-infested habitat?
